The appearance of a wrist watch largely depends on the strap. The metal bracelet will allow you to update your favorite watch. If you like to wear a watch every day, then a few metal bracelets will allow you to update them, add variety to your usual look. Today, metal watch straps are represented by a huge assortment.

Varieties of bracelet designs

The metal bracelet can be of a hard or soft construction.

Rigid models include rigid, closed and 3/4 wrist options. Hard options are presented in several types:

  • Closed - form a single ring.
  • Articulated - consist of two halves connected by a hinge.
  • Spring-loaded - resemble a cut ring.

Soft options, characterized by flexibility and comfort, are also available in several types of bracelets:

  • Glider - connected by hinges or springs.
  • Chain - includes a large number of links of various shapes.
  • Bijouterie - decorated with additional decor in the form of stones or beads.
  • Wicker - attract attention with an amazing pattern.

Types of metal

Modern bracelets are made from a variety of metals and alloys. Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages, so you should weigh your pros and cons when choosing a metal.

Zinc-aluminum alloy

The zinc-aluminum alloy strap is lightweight and impractical. It wears out very quickly. To protect the surface of the bracelet from mechanical damage, a special coating is required for it.

Brass

This metal is in great demand for straps because it is very easy to work with and also inexpensive. Brass is inferior in strength to steel. It is prone to oxidation, so the strap can leave dark marks on the wrist. To increase wear resistance, a special coating should be used.

Stainless steel

This alloy includes iron with carbon, nickel and chromium. They are characterized by excellent properties that are ideal for a metal strap. It is characterized by increased strength, excellent wear resistance, and is also not subject to corrosion. Stainless steel does not cause allergic reactions.

If you are purchasing a ground or polished stainless steel bracelet, then you need to protect the strap by applying special coatings.

Titanium

This metal is lightweight and fragile, so it is not used in its pure form in the manufacture of bracelets. This metal is often used in alloy with other metals. Titanium has a low thermal conductivity, so the bracelet will be warm.

The titanium bracelet has a matte gray color. Polished titanium is very similar in appearance to steel. To distinguish them, you need to pay attention to weight. Titanium weighs much less than strong and durable steel.

This metal scratches very quickly and loses its original appearance.

Gold

Many beauties dream of a gold bracelet on watches. Gold does not hide scratches or dents, so you should be very careful with it.

This option will ideally complement a stylish business look. A snow-white shirt in an ensemble with a black suit and tie will add sophistication to a fashionable bow.

Types of fasteners

Masters use different types of fasteners when creating wristwatches. Modern women of fashion choose watch models that are equipped with a universal mount. This strap will fit any watch. One has only to choose the right size between the ears. The universal strap is between 18 and 22 millimeters, but it can be fitted even to odd sizes.

Some links have a special mount. They are used to create original and spectacular watches. The final link has indentations and bulges that play a big role in the design of the accessory.

It should be remembered that the width of the second link is also very important. It does not affect the choice of a metal watch strap, but it has excellent performance properties.

Colour

The metal bracelet for watches is available in different colors. It blends harmoniously with the color of the dial.

Black bracelets look elegant and beautiful. They are suitable for office style or for every day. Dust and dirt are invisible on such a bracelet. No less popular is the white bracelet for watches. It fits perfectly into a summer bow, both everyday and smart.

Timeless classics - black and white. Any choice looks stylish and attractive.

But for lovers of brightness and bold solutions, a pink metal bracelet is perfect. The pink bracelet is elegantly and harmoniously combined with the pink watch.

How to shorten?

If the watch bracelet is large, then you can shorten it by throwing out a few links. You can do it yourself. To do this, you will need the following tools: a screwdriver, pliers, a small hammer, a thin awl, and a box for parts.

Any metal strap can be shortened as follows:

  • First you need to try on the watch, turn your hand upward and collect the links to form the desired length. They must touch each other. It is advisable to remove a clear number of links, one on each side. This will keep the clasp in the center of the bracelet.
  • The bracelet must be removed from the watch. For this you need a thin awl. With it, you can extrude the rods from the sides of the watch and remove them.
  • Next, select the link you need to remove. With the help of an awl, you need to squeeze out the rod that holds the link to the other, only 2 mm. The rod can now be removed with pliers. The same steps should be done with the other rod. If the links are secured with screws, then a screwdriver is required.
  • All removed parts and links must be folded into a pre-prepared box, since they can be attached back if necessary.
  • Now you can start assembling the bracelet. You should do the same, but in reverse order. It is necessary to put the rods in place. This may require a hammer. After assembling the bracelet, you need to attach the watch using rods.
  • The final stage is fitting. If the bracelet is still large, then it is worth throwing out one more link. If the bracelet is compressing the wrist a lot, it is worth returning one or two links back.

There is another way to shorten the metal watch bracelet, but this is only suitable for models with a stretch bracelet. You must do the following:

  • Measure the length of the strap and calculate the number of links needed to remove.
  • You need to remove the watch and bend the part of the bracelet that is superfluous.
  • Turn the watch over, remove the lower torsion brackets and remove the excess part.
  • All that remains is to collect the bracelet. You need to fasten the brackets on both sides at the same time and snap the torsion tubes back.

How to clean?

Before you start cleaning the bracelet, it is advisable to separate it from the watch, which will prevent water and detergent from getting into the mechanism. You will need warm water to clean the metal strap. Pour some shampoo or dish detergent into it.

The mechanism of action is very simple:

  • Take a shallow container and pour warm soapy water.
  • The bracelet is immersed in soapy water for half an hour.
  • Take it out and wipe it with a special cloth, which is used for polishing, or you can use a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • It is worth folding the strap several times during cleaning, which allows you to reach even the most difficult to reach places.
  • You can use a toothpick to clean the toughest areas.
  • After cleaning, dry the metal strap well by simply leaving it for a while or using a soft cloth.

How to wear it correctly?

Representatives of the fair sex often complement their stylish image with wristwatches. They are simply indispensable for a fashionable business woman, society lady, a responsible student and a housewife who is constantly in a hurry to do a lot of things. In order for a wristwatch to look harmoniously with your style, you should choose the model that suits your lifestyle perfectly.

Fundamental rules:

  • A watch with a metal bracelet should be matched to the shape and size of the hand. A watch on a thin bracelet is ideal for miniature pens. Women with massive arms should give preference to large geometric models. This option has a lot in common with male models. Owners of long fingers should choose an original model on a double metal bracelet.
  • For a business bow, discreet accessories are ideal. Calm color schemes should be preferred. Hours need to be selected depending on your position. The higher it is, the more expensive it is to wear a watch. Models with bright rhinestones or chains are not suitable for office style.

The watch should fit snugly on the strap. The cuffs of a blouse or jacket should cover half of the dial.

  • The unusual shape of the watch provides an opportunity for experimentation, so it can be worn over clothing. The perfect complement to this accessory will be a ring or a spectacular, bright manicure.
  • For bright personalities who want to show their individuality and attract the interest of others, it is worth paying attention to models from several materials.Today, the trend is for models of their yellow metal in tandem with leather or wood in a dark shade. White metal matches perfectly with ivory or mother-of-pearl.
  • Owners of vintage-style watches should complement the stylish bow with accessories in this style solution. A watch from the 50s should be combined with a small handbag and a silk handkerchief.
  • If you decide to wear a long evening dress with a luxurious neckline and bare hands to a party or holiday, you should give up a wristwatch. They look ridiculous with bare hands. Better to wear an attractive bracelet. For evening looks, you can use graceful models decorated with exquisite pendants.
