Nowadays, it is quite easy to change your own appearance. However, hair color is the factor that can completely change the first impression of a person. Thanks to this, you can either create a vivid, unique image, or completely lose yourself and merge with the crowd. To prevent this from happening, you need to know some of the rules and tips recommended by stylists.

Brunettes, unfortunately, cannot afford the variety of colors that are open to fair-haired girls. The reason for this is the darker pigments in the hair, which creates certain difficulties for fixing the dye in the hair structure. But you can change the image without a radical change in color.

Palette of shades

In order not to be mistaken with the choice of an image and choose a color that will change your life for the better, you need to know your type. The definition of "brunette" includes not only the burning charcoal color, it also includes shades from black to chestnut:

  • raven wing (black, shimmering with a barely noticeable blue);
  • black;
  • bitter (or black) chocolate (aka dark chocolate);
  • dark coffee;
  • dark blond;
  • chestnut;
  • milk chocolate.

Hence, the division of all brunettes into two types appears - warm and cold, belonging to which is determined not only by the shade of the hair, but also by the color of the skin and the pigment of the eyes.

Warm

The warm type includes the owners of brown, chocolate or light brown hair with a golden and reddish tint. Brown eyes (less often - dark green, dark gray), dark or even olive skin color. Freckles are sometimes present (for example, Esmeralda and Pocahontas from Disney cartoons).

Golden or reddish, fiery shades are suitable for such girls, for example, you can ask the master to lighten some strands a little until a copper shade or warm caramel color is obtained. Be wary of too defiant yellow colors or an ordinary blonde - the combination of dark skin and yellow hair dyes very few people. To facilitate the search, it is worth remembering the numbers 3, 4, 7, as well as the letters R, K, W.

Cold

This image has been popular since the era of romanticism, as it is built on contrasts: hair, deep dark color and light, porcelain skin. Eyes of light colors - from transparent blue to the color of fresh spring grass (Mulan or Snow White from the same Disney studio). Quite a gothic image, so if you do not want to enhance your gloom, then you should not choose rich black shades, as there is a risk of turning into a beautiful, but completely inanimate doll. Very beautiful cold platinum and ash tones are also suitable for fair-skinned beauties, but it is worth remembering that such a combination can make the owner look several years older.

Another way to refresh your own appearance, suitable for cold beauties, is to choose a hair dye with the same cool shade. As a rule, these are paints that give glare of silver, ash, lilac, blue and other shades in daylight.

To simplify the search, manufacturers often mark such dyes with either the numbers 1 and 6, or the letters C, F, V, PL. Or you can use tonics or tint shampoos for coloring - this alignment allows you to change a little yourself, without the help of a master. And if you don't like the color, then it will come off by itself in a couple of weeks.

The best option for carriers of both cold and warm types is to change their native color by a couple of shades. This will preserve naturalness and the hair will suffer much less than with prolonged dyeing in a completely opposite color. It will take much less time to care for hair dyed in a color close to its native one, and regrown roots will not become a noticeable problem.

Eye color as a selection criterion

Another way to choose a suitable color option is to correlate the planned color result with the tint of your eyes. This will create a harmonious design for the skin and, with the right selection, will reveal the beauty and saturation of the iris pigment. Owners of dark eye pigment (black, dark brown) are advised to stay on paint that is as close as possible to their native color scheme - dark chocolate, dark blond, dark chestnut. These are the main shades, but there are many subtones in between, so that everyone can choose something suitable, the main thing is to focus on the three main shades.

Girls with brown eyes (this also includes light brown, hazel and amber) are most fortunate: they are suitable for the range from dark chocolate to chestnut and copper. Lovers of bright hairstyles should pay attention to color schemes and various color options with red and reddish shades. It will definitely refresh your look.

Colors that visually muffle the brightness of dark eyes (not recommended):

  • rich wine (burgundy);
  • shades of ash;
  • eggplant (and similar shades of purple);
  • nordic blond;
  • blond with a rich yellow hue.

These colors tend to reduce the brightness of the eyes, but accentuate the skin tone, which can look somewhat unnatural. The maximum light color acceptable for dark-eyed girls is light blond, with highlighting and incomplete hair coloring - sand.

Bright-eyed beauties are very much in saturated colors, up to black and dark chestnut. This will give the look depth and expressiveness. The colors that are not recommended for girls with dark eyes - all shades of wine, ash and purple - should be attributed to suitable ones.The principle of contrast will work - dark or bright hair will set off light eyes well. Ash shades can give the look a coldness, but it will be very emotionally saturated coldness, which will remain in people's memory for a long time and will not allow you to mix with a crowd of the same people.

Choosing a color to match your skin tone

If you choose a tone in accordance with the skin tone, you can get an incredibly harmonious, gentle, but at the same time bright and memorable image. It has its own characteristics and rules that you need to know.

For girls with dark skin, the entire dark range from black to milk chocolate is suitable. This will accentuate the line of the cheekbones and the shape of the eyebrows, as well as add mystery. You should be wary of too light, cold shades: such colors very rarely suit bronze-skinned beauties, and if you are not one of them, you will get too lurid appearance.

For owners of light skin tones - yellowish or pinkish-peach - reddish, copper, golden and honey tones are suitable. The colors will echo among themselves, creating a delicate, but incredibly lively image. You should choose non-flashy colors, otherwise there is a risk of simply getting lost against the background of the hair. It is possible to use a chocolate palette, in which case the use of saturated colors is encouraged.

For cool skin - porcelain, pale or just light - you should select a color scheme from light brown to sandy. The main thing is not to go into pure white! If you want something light and cold, then you can choose shades of platinum blonde, light golden colors, or choose the option of coloring salt and pepper. To tone down the look a little, choose amber or liquid caramel. This will create a warmer combination that has its own flavor. One striking option for pale skin is monochrome burgundy. But this option is not for everyone.

Popular staining techniques

Thanks to modern technologies and discoveries in the beauty industry, women have access not only to the usual monochrome coloring, but also many variations that combine different colors and even color schemes.

Dyeing in two colors:

  • Venetian highlights involves the use of two to four shades. The result is a smooth transition from one color to another and a slight highlighting of the strands by using lighter shades. This type of staining makes the wearer much younger.
  • Creative highlights it is performed in only two tones, but for coloring a bright color scheme is selected that attracts attention. One of the most common options is the ends of the hair dyed in bright colors. But the most attractive use for this highlight is a smooth transition from one color to another. Salt and pepper is a kind of creative highlighting.

It assumes the use of only two colors for the base - the color of ground black pepper and a cold light ash blond. The uniqueness of this method is that it suits all girls, as warm and cold shades are intertwined.

  • Ombre - an option that is gaining more and more popularity. It has two varieties: in the first, they lighten the ends of the hair, leaving the roots natural, and in the second, they stretch from light roots to more saturated and dark ends.
  • Balayazh Is a smooth transition from one color to another using a stretch. It looks very natural and soft on the hair. If, with ombre, the transition goes from top to bottom, then balayage allows coloring of individual parts of individual strands along the entire length of the hair.
  • Bronding - gives the effect of individual strands burnt out in the sun. For coloring, two or three shades are used. It is recommended to choose the tones that are closest to the natural hair color.Bronding with a reddish tint looks very natural, but only if your type is warm, and your hair has its own reddish tint.
  • BabyLights - suitable for those who do not want to lose their natural hair color, but want at least minimal changes. With this method of dyeing, the paint is applied to individual strands and hair near the face. Most often, this is lightening, so you get the image of a traveler whose head is burnt out under the scorching sun.
  • Monochrome staining - hair dyeing along the entire length in one tone. Looks especially good on girls with fair skin, creating a kind of framing. It is monochrome coloring, like no other, that emphasizes the natural expressiveness of the eyes.

Hair length matters only when booking - on long hair, this dyeing method will look most advantageous. For the rest of the dyeing options, short hair is also suitable - a competent master will embody any desired technique on the hairstyle below the shoulders. But still, avoid a flashy, acidic palette on long hair - it will look a little defiant. Yes, if you want, you can afford bright colors like blue, pink and others, but it is better to focus on soft, slightly dusty shades, and not on full color saturation. Such catchy tones will look much better on short hair. All this applies only to monochrome coloring; during highlighting, any color scale is permissible, regardless of the length of the hair.

If you are a naturally burning brunette, but want to dye your hair blonde or other light colors, then pay attention to your type and remember that such coloring will be quite aggressive and can cause significant damage to your hair. We recommend paying attention to the types of highlights described above - this will cause much less damage and will look more natural.

Even though monochrome coloring and some others don't seem particularly difficult, it is highly recommended to find a salon with an experienced colorist. Only there they will help you choose the color, carry out the dyeing procedure correctly and tell you about color and hair care.

Remember that the appearance of each person is unique, and exactly what is contraindicated by stylists may suit you. If you feel that this is your color, then you should try to change yourself the way you want. After all, you do not know how you will look until you try and look in the mirror.
