In the world of cleanliness and conquering sanitation, heavy perspiration and the accompanying unpleasant odor are considered a major problem that needs immediate correction. The market offers a significant number of drugs designed to solve the problem, and sometimes the consumer becomes even more confused by this, not understanding which drug is really active, and which will turn out to be a senseless waste of money.

One of the recently advertised deodorants from among not the most famous is Algel - so let's try to figure out what it is.

Composition

Algel deodorant is a Russian-made product, the task of which is to be both effective and completely safe for humans. The creators declare the presence of several components in the recipe.

  • Water. The main component, which acts as a solvent for all other ingredients, gives the substance a liquid form suitable for application to the skin.
  • Aluminum hydrochloride. The main active ingredient aimed at reducing sweating. The desired result is obtained due to the fact that the smallest particles of aluminum contribute to the narrowing of the skin pores. After application, the deodorant forms a kind of film on the skin that does not release sweat from the skin.
  • Cyclopentasiloxane... A key antibacterial ingredient aimed at combating unpleasant odors, which, by the way, sweat does not possess as such. But it can be a favorable breeding ground for bacteria, which, as a result of their vital activity and further death, provide aroma.Thanks to this substance, the entire colony of bacteria dies at once.
  • Glycerol. An emollient ingredient that helps to reduce the harmful effects of aggressive ingredients on the skin. The second function of glycerin is to provide the viscosity necessary for uniform mixing of the constituents.
  • Bisabolol... A substance with a pronounced sedative effect that is highly appropriate in many areas of potential excessive perspiration.
  • Plant extracts. Each of them performs its own functions - for example, lemon got the task of drying the skin from excess fat secretions and stimulating the production of collagen, without which the skin becomes wrinkled, not to mention disinfection. Green tea extract fights irritation and also disinfects the surface, and also gives the problem area a light pleasant aroma. Chamomile extract generally complements the effect of the decontamination ingredients described above.
  • Menthol... The main effect is to provide a cool effect on the treated area of the skin, which additionally prevents the release of perspiration and delivers a pleasant sensation. In addition, a menthol note is woven into the final bouquet of deodorant.

Operating principle

Algel is interesting for the consumer in that it belongs to the group of antiperspirants, that is, it does not just mask an unpleasant odor, but has a complex action aimed at eliminating the cause of such.

From the point of view of medicine, it can be considered a drug for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, that is, a means to combat profuse sweating.

For the main result, aluminum hydrochloride is responsible, which, falling on the surface of the skin, reacts with the proteins of the epidermis. The result of their interaction is the thinnest film that reliably "seals" the ducts of the sweat glands - due to this, even the highest ambient temperature cannot squeeze out a drop of sweat from the treated area of the skin.

The ingestion of aluminum into the body could have an undesirable effect, however, the developers insist that penetration does not occur - the compounds of proteins with this metal do not dissolve and are not absorbed into the blood, gradually being washed off the skin during hygiene procedures. Wherein Algel does not affect the sweat glands as such - it only temporarily blocks them, therefore there is no irreversible effect on the body. After the termination of the use of the substance, hyperhidrosis will resume as soon as possible in the same volume as before the start of use.

    From a biological point of view, sweating is a beneficial process for the body, so some potential consumers have concerns about the consequences of using Algel. Since the substance does not process the entire surface of the body, but only typical "problem" places (armpits, palms, feet), the body simply redistributes sweating to other areas where it is not so critical. In addition, excess fluid and salts begin to be excreted more intensively in the urine.

    Forms of issue

    Considering the significant width of the sphere of potential use of "Algel", the manufacturer decided to release it in three different forms, each of which should be considered separately.

    Option with roller applicator very similar to the common deodorant used by most of the modern population. Long-acting underarm antiperspirant roll-on comes in 50 ml bottles. Thanks to the presence of the roller, the consumer has the opportunity to conveniently and evenly distribute the active substances over the "area of responsibility".

    The effect of a single use of Algel is observed on average 3-5 days after use.

    At the same time, the creators made sure that the substance did not leave any noticeable marks on clothes of any color.

    In addition to the usual "Algel", there is also "Algel Maximum", which comes in the same roll-on antiperspirant form, but with an even more noticeable effect. To achieve such a striking result allows the inclusion of several more herbal ingredients in the recipe, among which peppermint oil, aloe, ethylhexylglycerin and allantoin should be distinguished. Such an antiperspirant has a double effect, since it not only guarantees dryness and comfort in the area of problem areas, but also fights against the development of an unpleasant odor.

    A completely separate product is a foot gel, produced in a tube, designed to combat one of the most critical problem areas in terms of perspiration. If the armpits and palms can still be somehow hidden, then the strong smell from the legs causes a real complex, while Algel for the legs allows not only to reduce sweating, but also to effectively fight microbes, whose vital activity usually causes an unpleasant odor.

    The foot gel is available in tubes of two different sizes - 75 and 200 ml. The composition of the drug is slightly different from the "main" version. So, it contains special components that soften the skin of the feet, as well as sage extract, which is involved in achieving all of the listed beneficial effects. It is important to note that the use of Algel for the feet is also beneficial from the point of view of preventing fungus.

    Instructions for use

    To achieve the maximum effect in the shortest possible time, it is important to use the drug according to the instructions, which must be supplied with the bottle or tube.

    The optimal time for applying Algel to the skin is in the evening, after water procedures.

    The fact is that at night a person usually moves little, and the temperature drops, which means that there are no objective reasons for serious sweating, and it will be easier to block the ducts of the sweat glands. If your schedule differs from the most common, adjust the time of application of the substance with the above.

    Aluminum compounds are destroyed upon contact with moisture, the process itself is accompanied by unpleasant sensations for a person in the form of discomfort, expressed in a tangible burning sensation and skin irritation. To prevent this from happening it is necessary to apply the antiperspirant only to dry skin, and contact of the treated surface with water is undesirable for the next four hours... It will be possible to wash off the remnants of Algel in the morning - the instruction advises to use warm water and soap, after which it is recommended to wipe dry again.

    note that in general, sweating is a natural process and is beneficial for the body, therefore it is undesirable to process large areas of the body in one sitting. Excretion of sweat helps the body to tolerate heat more easily and eliminate excess salts. If you significantly limit such opportunities, unpleasant consequences can ensue.

    Considering the duration of the effect of "Algel" application, it should be used relatively rarely - in most cases, 3-7 days are considered a normal interval.

    Only in some especially severe cases is it allowed to repeat the procedure the next day, including with the extension of a kind of series up to three days in a row.

    Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that Algel cannot be considered a simple deodorant - it is a medical and cosmetic product with a number of contraindications that are worth listening to:

    • irritation or damage to the skin is a direct contraindication for applying the substance to this area of the body;
    • the pro-epilated areas may contain subtle damage, they can be processed only two days after epilation;
    • before use, the consumer is obliged to study the composition of the substance to make sure that there is nothing in the list of components to which he may be allergic;
    • redness or burning sensation resulting from the treatment of the skin with "Algel" requires immediate intervention in the form of rinsing with water; after that, the procedure can be repeated only every other day;
    • if the situation described in the previous paragraph was repeated every other day, there is reason to suspect an allergic reaction to one of the components of the antiperspirant, and then it is better to abandon its use altogether;
    • contact of Algel with any mucous membranes and the oral cavity is highly undesirable, therefore, the application of the substance even to adjacent parts of the body is prohibited.

      The normal storage temperature of the drug ranges from 5-25 degrees above zero. With adequate storage and correct application, a tangible result is usually not observed immediately, but after 2-3 procedures, when not only sweating is reduced, but the number of bacteria has significantly decreased.

      Side effects are usually expressed as typical allergy symptoms such as redness, rashes and itching of the treated areas... In any such development of events, it seems a reasonable decision to stop using Algel and look for an alternative with a different composition.

      Review of doctors' reviews

      Algel in our country can be found in pharmacies, which already gives an understanding of the medicinal essence of this drug.

      Medical professionals speak positively about it, pointing out that it is, in fact, a domestic analogue of the popular Swedish deodorant DryDry.

      Like a foreign "colleague", this drug has a high efficiency in almost all cases, except for too advanced hyperhidrosis. A positive feature of the antiperspirant is its water base, which allows it to be used to care for sensitive skin, as well as the only contraindication in the form of individual intolerance to the components, which makes the substance available even for specific categories of patients such as children and pregnant women.

      Side effects are rare because the composition is selected in such a way as to include a minimum of popular allergens. After application, you can expect an average of 5 days of effect.

      All the pros and cons of Algel deodorant are described in the video below.
