Hoverboard owners often wonder what to do if the vehicle beeps and the red light is on (flashing). Many people face this problem, and the reason is not battery drain, although this can happen if the user is a beginner. A red light blinks on the gyro

Often there are moments when the power button responds to pressing, but the gyro does not go. You should not panic in such a situation, because it is likely that everything is fine.

Look at the indicator lights:

  • the first transmits the state of the hoverboard;
  • the second shows the battery charge.

If the charge falls below the set rate, the battery indicator will constantly glow red. There is still a minimum charge, but the electronic equipment will block movement in order to prevent a complete discharge.

If a red indication appears, simply charge the battery.

It's not that simple with the status indicator. As with any technique, there are error codes in the electronic equipment of hoverboards.

Please do a factory reset before doing anything.

  • One blink - wiring problems. Check that the wires are securely connected by disconnecting and reconnecting them one at a time.
  • 2 blinks - malfunctions in the electrical circuit.
  • 3 blinks - the probable cause is the jumpering of the phase conductors. With this malfunction, it is worth contacting specialists.
  • 4 blinks - failure of the wheel or position sensor from the side of the motherboard.
  • 5 flashes - problems with the wheel or the position sensor on the battery side.
  • 6 flashes - the rechargeable battery is discharged or needs to be replaced.
  • 7 flashes - breakdown of the sensor, gyroscopic control module or auxiliary board from the battery side. Maybe a replacement will be needed.
  • 8 flashes - a problem with one of the balancing boards.
  • 9 flashes - false spatial location of the sensors (the scooter may be upside down).

Why does the gyro kick and what to do?

There is no common reason why the device beeps and does not move. In most cases, users are faced with the fact that their hoverboard is essentially a low-quality copy. Naturally, it uses low-power sensors, useless wiring and cheap manufacturing materials, so there is no need to be surprised at an imminent breakdown. A completely different calico, when the device worked for a long time without complications, and then suddenly went out of order. The squeak of a gyroscopic bike is found in the process of driving, being recharged, or simply when it is turned on. There are usually several reasons for this:

  • impact of the body on a hard surface and, as a result, damage to the "insides";
  • illiterate repairs, when the battery does not turn off and a short circuit occurs;
  • moisture ingress on the boards;
  • exceeding the permissible speed limit;
  • weak battery charge;
  • overload when climbing a slope more than 15 °.

Let's consider each point in more detail. The hovercraft can peel as a result of mechanical damage, which negatively affects its functionality. In this regard, it is necessary to carefully handle it and not allow, for example, falls to the ground or swoops on curbs. A collision with an obstacle can damage one of the circuit boards in the device.

Very often dirt, dust or moisture gets inside the gyrocycle. As a rule, this can cause a short circuit, which is fraught with the failure of any component. If water gets into the battery while driving, the gyro is even capable of catching fire. Although it should be noted that this happens quite rarely, since the manufacturers of these devices are worried about consumer protection. However, after using the gyroscopes, they recommend that you carefully inspect them for the presence of dirt and moisture and wipe them off so that there are no unexpected moments, for example, during charging.

Often, malfunctions appear due to the fact that the owners of the devices are trying to make repairs on their own. Some of the users, noticing problems during the trip, stop and start repairs. And in order to find out for what reason the gyrocycle stopped functioning, they try to dismantle the cover of the device located in its upper part. Such actions can cause a short circuit in the motherboard, as a result of which the TIP127 transistors (there are 2 of them here) can burn out. Despite the fact that one of these 2 elements located on the main board with the microcontroller will fail, the gyro scooter will stop functioning.

Another reason for the failure of the gyro is the desire of users to replace the Bluetooth module on their own, without the help of professionals... Some people forget to turn off the battery at the same time, which leads to a short circuit. In some episodes, the hoverboard may continue to work without interruption for some time, and the user is not able to detect the problem that has appeared.

But when the device starts to peep strongly and stops turning off, you need to pay attention to the place that you repaired yourself.

The hoverboard squeaks during acceleration

A separate reason should be the squeak of the gyro cycle when driving, especially when accelerating. In this situation, the squeak does not indicate a malfunction, but only warns of the need to reduce the speed for your own safety. This signal can be turned off via the Tao Tao Plus app menu if your gyro is equipped with a Tao Tao board.

The same applies to overloads. Some modifications start to beep when the user tries to climb a hill with a slope greater than 15. To prevent damage, he emits a long warning squeak and is even able to turn off himself.

The gyrocycle squeaks without being in motion

Try to calibrate the device. If this does not solve the problem and the gyro still beeps, you need to take a warranty card for this device and contact the management of the outlet where it was purchased or the service center. At the same time, you need to be prepared for the fact that the goods you bought will not be accepted at the point of sale or repairs made in the workshop.

Such a situation may appear if it is found that the device has become unusable due to a rather powerful blow and does not work when the power is connected. In this case, you will need to repair the damage from your wallet.

Squeak when turned on

At times, users are dealing with a situation where the gyro cycle, when pressed on the power button, starts to beep, but does not turn off when pressed again. There are 2 key reasons:

  • battery malfunction;
  • problems directly in the power button.
