The turban is one of the most fashionable hats that has not lost its relevance for several seasons. Today we will show you how to tie it with a regular scarf.

How to choose a scarf?

First, let's give some tips for choosing the most suitable accessory.

  • Decide on the length of the scarf. The larger it is, the more voluminous and interesting the final design will turn out, and you can try different tying options. The stole is especially good in this regard. A short scarf is suitable for tying a turban-bandage, suggesting loose hair. Recommended scarf length - 160 cm, width - 60-65 cm.
  • Scarf colors - a matter of your personal preference. You can choose from a single-color accessory, as well as a two-tone one, or with a bright complex print.
  • The material of manufacture also plays an important role. When it's cool outside, choose cashmere and woolen scarves, and when it's warm - silk, chiffon, linen, satin.

Tying options

Now let's learn how to tie a turban with our own hands.

Women's options

So, let's start with an interesting way to wind a turban in African style.

The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  • tie your hair into a high "bump" and secure it well;
  • take a scarf, throw it over the back of your head so that 2 free ends of the same length hang down on the sides of your face;
  • bring these ends to the forehead, twist them crosswise;
  • wrap the resulting "bun" of hair with a scarf;
  • tuck the remaining loose ends under the folds of the turban.

    The next way is wind the scarf over your head, forming a "donut" in front:

    • as in the previous case, we put the accessory on the back of the head, bring the free edges to the forehead;
    • we begin to twist the ends of the scarf together - you should get a long tourniquet;
    • then we begin to lay this rope in a spiral on the forehead in the form of a curl of a snail shell;
    • hide the remaining free tip under the resulting "donut".

    A turban in Turkish can be done like this:

    • we throw a scarf on the back of the head, bring the edges to the forehead, cross them with each other;
    • then we wrap the head in a circle with one of the ends, fix it, hiding it under the fold;
    • do the same with the other end of the scarf.

    Another cool way to keep the top of your head open:

    • take a not too long scarf;
    • put it on the back of your head, bring the ends to your forehead;
    • cross them once and twice to create volume in the frontal area;
    • spread the free edges on the sides of the head and hide them under the scarf;
    • the result is a turban-bandage that can be worn with bangs, loose hair or a ponytail.

          And, finally, a very unusual option, in which the main "decor" will be on the side.

          • We put the scarf on the back of the head, bring the ends forward, but not to the forehead, but to the side of the head where you want to form the decorative part of the turban.
          • We tie several nodes in a row - you get something like a rope.
          • We put the resulting "rope" on the side, fix the free edge under the turban. You can leave it a little longer (if the length of the accessory allows) and remove it from the other side of the head, laying it on the neck.

          In this case, it is recommended to secure the structure with a pin.
