Stainless steel cookware is very popular today. At a relatively low price visually, it looks presentable. On store shelves, you can find a large assortment of stainless steel dishes from various manufacturers. Products of the Russian trade mark "Katun" will be a good choice.

Advantages

Cookware "Katun" has mostly positive reviews and is in demand among buyers. Consumers are attracted not only by a universal design that suits any interior style, but also by its relatively low cost compared to analogues. For the convenience of buyers, stores offer single copies, from which you can make your own set of the most suitable containers specifically for you. You can also purchase ready-made sets of pots. Tableware from some series is sold in a gift box.

Katun pots are not afraid of metal mesh, as well as scratches from other sharp objects, they can be washed in dishwashers. Due to the fact that steel is characterized by low thermal conductivity, food in stainless steel pans cools down longer. In addition, food stays fresh longer in such dishes.

The pots of the "Katun" company are universal and suitable for both gas and electric stoves., including for glass-ceramic panels. Some collections are specially designed for induction hobs. Pots with a relatively small volume, intended for home use, have glass G-tape lids (with a metal rim) with a hole for steam, through which it is convenient to observe the cooking process.

Cookware from the professional series is equipped with metal lids and screwed-on handles.

disadvantages

For all its advantages, stainless steel cookware is not without its drawbacks, and the Katun brand cookware is no exception. This metal does not like sudden changes in temperature. Therefore, before washing the pan, it is necessary to let it cool down in order to avoid rainbow stains that spoil the appearance of the dishes. Some of the models have insufficient bottom thickness, so they are not suitable for cooking dishes that require prolonged heat treatment: food starts to burn and loses its taste. Not all utensils have a sufficiently secure handle.

In some cases they are welded, although riveted handles are considered to be more durable.

Tips for selection and operation

When choosing stainless steel pans it will not be superfluous to pay attention to some points.

  • The thickness of the bottom and walls: it must be at least 0.5 cm.
  • Food type. Different types of saucepans are suitable for different dishes. For example, for boiling milk, it is better to choose a double-bottomed ladle to prevent burning, and for steam cooking, it is convenient to use a mantool.
  • Plate type. Not all ranges of cookware of this brand are suitable for induction hobs. You can check this with a magnet: if it is attracted to the bottom of the dish, then you can safely choose it.
  • Pot size. For home use, standard volumes are suitable, and for public institutions, special series with an increased volume have been created for the services of professional chefs.
