Hydrophilic oil appeared on the Russian cosmetic market relatively recently. It looks like an ordinary vegetable, but has completely different features and characteristics. Its characteristic feature is the ability to dissolve in water.

What it is?

For evening cleansing of the skin, our compatriots most often use gels, tonics, lotions, micellar water is also popular, but all these products often dry out the skin. That is why, as soon as hydrophilic oil appeared on the domestic market, many immediately preferred it. It has a rather gentle effect on the lipid layer of the skin, perfectly removes makeup, and can be used on all types of skin.

To assess the effectiveness of a tool, first you need to understand the theory of the issue.

Everyone knows from the school chemistry course that fatty substances do not have the ability to dissolve in water and mix with it - such is nature, and no matter how intensively you interfere with them, a miracle will not happen - when shaken, drops of oils are simply distributed throughout the entire water column and will form emulsion. After a few minutes, they separate from each other again. To prevent this, a special component is introduced into the oil - an emulsifier, usually polysorbate is used in this capacity. It makes the emulsion more stable and hydrophilic.

The resulting product is completely hypoallergenic. Thus, we can safely say that hydrophilic oil is an extremely versatile care product for completely cleaning the skin, effectively moisturizing it and removing makeup residues.It differs from all other types of products with similar functionality in the ability to react with water already on the skin surface.

The tool was created by Korean scientists several decades ago, but despite this, this technology was officially patented only in the second half of the last century in Japan.

Some women believe that this is, in general, a useless product, the love for which is due to a simple fashion statement for everything Korean, but this is not so. Those who have tried the remedy have already appreciated its effectiveness and undoubted advantages in comparison with analogues. The product effectively removes even waterproof cosmetics. In the process of application, the pores are deeply cleaned, and in addition, light exfoliation and removal of the upper stratum corneum is performed.

Unlike conventional scrubs, this procedure does not dry out the skin, but in comparison with conventional gels and light foams for washing, it cleans more deeply, while the user does not have a feeling of tightness of the skin.

It is noteworthy that this is the only product that washes away a product labeled "BB" - that is, a product that has a tendency to accumulate in the pores and thoroughly clog them.

On contact with even a small amount of water remaining on the surface of the skin, the fat is converted into a white emulsion, which is quite easily washed off the face.

This product is optimal for different types of skin:

  • oily;
  • problematic with large pores;
  • dry;
  • with acne, inflammation and comedones;
  • with rosacea;
  • for a person affected by age-related changes.

What can be replaced?

Unfortunately, these days it is impossible to find an inexpensive hydrophilic oil on the market in a low price segment, the cost of the product starts from 1000 rubles, so the tool cannot be called affordable. However, this is not a reason to despair, because an analogue of such an oil can be made independently at home. All that is needed for this is a little time and polysorbate, which can be purchased through online stores. Usually this natural emulsifier is produced under the working name "Twin", of course, it also costs money, but the total cost of the product will still be lower than that of the finished store-bought oil.

To draw up a solution at home you will need:

  • "Twin-80" and "Twin-20";
  • 10-20 drops of any aromatic oil to taste;
  • vitamins A and E - about 2 ml.

The emulsifier is diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 9. "Tween-80" is used to dissolve the base ingredients, and "Tween-20" is needed for ethers. The addition of vitamins determines the anti-aging effect of the drug, reduces wrinkles and stimulates the increased production of elastane.

After all the main ingredients have been combined, place the solution in a cool, dark place and remove it every day before use.

It should be noted that the desired effect can be achieved only with polysorbate, but sometimes its analogue is taken - oliderm.

To prepare a hydrophilic cleansing oil based on it, you need to prepare oil extracts:

  • jojoba - 30 ml;
  • evening primrose - 5 ml;
  • pink - 5 ml;
  • and oliderm itself - 15 ml.

      As in the previous case, all the necessary components are mixed and sent to storage.

      It should be noted that oliderm is less effective than polysorbate, so you will notice the results from using the cleansing agent only after 2-3 weeks, while polysorbate will allow you to notice the difference already with the fourth application.

      Composition

      The main components of hydrophilic oil are:

      • oil base, which makes up about 80-95% of the total volume of the drug, and absolutely any oils can be included - shea butter, as well as apricot, rose or jojoba;
      • an emulsifier - the main ingredient that ensures the complete dissolution of the oily component in water and the ability to penetrate deep into the pores and layers of the dermis, delicately cleansing and exfoliating them.

      As a rule, this component accounts for 5-15% of the total product volume.

      In addition, the “hydrophilic” contains special caring components, such as fat-soluble vitamins A and E, as well as extracts of fragrant oils (lemon, as well as rosemary or neroli), as well as a small amount of fruit acids - most often citric or malic acids are used.

      Regular use of such a product is guaranteed to give a high effect., expressed in improving the condition, appearance and color of the skin - literally after a few applications, it becomes fresh and healthy due to the fact that the product differs not only in deep cleansing, but also in a gentle caring effect.

      Rating

      Hydrophilic oil belongs to Asian products, so you can always find such a product in Asian cosmetics stores - Korean or Japanese, as well as order through specialized Internet sites.

      The most effective hydrophilic oils are offered on the market in three price groups: mass market, luxury and Asian.

      The most popular are Asian, in this segment the following compositions are common.

      Real Soybean Deep Cleansing Oil - This is an oil from the Mizon company, which is distinguished by a high concentration of natural ingredients. The product includes a wide variety of types of oil - jojoba, olive and camellia. It is extremely hypoallergenic, effectively cleanses and does not clog pores. Another effective remedy - Soda Pore Cleansing (Holika Holika)... It is a “hydrophilic” with a high concentration of fat-soluble vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant and has a pronounced anti-aging effect, which is why it is often used to cleanse skin with pronounced age-related changes. The product gently cleanses, while it does not give a feeling of dryness and does not injure the skin. The cost is about 1200 rubles.

      Hydrophilic oils of the Lux segment are aimed at wealthy consumers.

      Among the most effective are the following.

      Extreme Cleanser Balancing Cleansing Dry Oil from Make Up For Ever. Another interesting product - Soothing Cleansing Oil by Bobbi Brown... This is one of the most expensive formulations, which is offered to consumers at a price of 3500-3700 per pack. It contains extracts of jojoba, olive and sunflower.

      The renowned cosmetics firm Lancôme has also released their hydrophilic oil called Energie de vie the cleansing... Products from Kosmetista are also in demand.

      Analogs of the product from the mass market sector have nothing to do with Asian products, all of them are made by Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian enterprises and are much less effective.However, their cost is much lower.

      Among the products in this category are the following.

      "Magic of Morocco" from the company "Belita"... The tool well removes decorative cosmetics, cleanses even the deepest pores, and also slightly tones the skin. The base ingredients are grape oil and sesame extract.

      Argan from the Spivak enterprise. This product very gently cleanses the upper layers of the skin and saturates it with nutrients, without drying out and drying out the dermis. The basic ingredients are almond and argn extracts.

      "Bio-oil" from the domestic brand "Black Pearl". Almond oil as well as argan oil are the main ingredients of this product. The tool successfully removes any makeup, and also allows you to maintain the normal level of acid-base balance.

      The cost of such funds does not exceed 350 rubles, but the effect can be noticed only after a few weeks of use.

      How to choose?

      A wide range of hydrophilic oils presented on retail counters and the range of prices for them can confuse any consumer. However, there is no need to get lost - if you follow the advice of experienced experts and cosmetologists, you can correctly select a high-quality product that will be optimal for a specific skin type.

      Firstly, it is necessary to pay attention to the composition of the product; the safety of use and the effectiveness of the effect on the dermis depend on it.

      The "hydrophilic" must include several types of vegetable oils., preferable - natural, but the inclusion of analogs - mineral oils is allowed. Many are afraid of such a component, but completely in vain: oils obtained from a mixture of refined petroleum fats effectively cleanse and prevent the dermis from drying out, in addition, they are universal.

      Secondly, try to choose a product in accordance with the characteristics of your skin. By the way, the theory about the incompatibility of "hydrophilic" with oily skin is a big delusion, this product can be used for oily, combination, and dry skin. It cleans deep pores well, removes all impurities accumulated on the surface layer and reduces the production of sebum, and in addition, relieves inflammation and soothes. In order not to make a mistake in the choice, it is necessary to pay attention to the mark, which indicates for which type of leather the use of oil is recommended.

      And, of course, keep in mind that the original product is expensive, so all low-cost options are analogs that have mild effectiveness.

      Recommendations for use

      "Hydrophilic" must be used correctly. The method of its application involves 3 main stages and differs in some of its peculiarities.

      The most important thing is to apply the drug only to dry skin. You do not need to wash your face and take off your makeup in advance. Once on the surface of the integument of the skin, it immediately begins to break down and firmly bind sebum, which are included in large amounts in foundation, concealers, powder and other types of decorative cosmetics.

      It should also be used to cleanse the neck, ears and even eyes.

      The product is used very sparingly - no need to pour half the bottle onto a cotton pad. 3-4 drops are enough, which are applied with massage movements all over the face. It is imperative that your hands remain completely dry at this point, otherwise contact with water will convert the oil into a liquid emulsion and the cleaning result will not be as effective. Great attention should be paid to problem areas with enlarged pores and unaesthetic blackheads.

      After applying the drug, you should wait about two minutes until the "hydrophilic" dissolves the accumulated dirt.

      Then it is necessary to turn the oil into an easily washable emulsion.To do this, you need warm water - it will be enough to wet your hands a little and rub your face with them, then wash your face with running water.

      At the final stage, use a cleansing foam to get rid of oil residues.

      Hydrophilic oil is absolutely hypoallergenic and has practically no contraindications for use. Many are confused by its texture. Women are afraid that the product may clog the pores. But no need to worry - when interacting with water, the oil is removed from the surface of the skin, the main thing is to use gels or foam to remove the remnants of undissolved product.

      However, there are a number of limitations associated with the individual characteristics of the skin. So, if you have enlarged pores that quickly become clogged, then you should refrain from "hydrophilic" containing mineral oils. However, a high-quality and expensive product does not include such a component at all, but in analogues it is presented quite widely. Ideal for frequent use, it can be applied daily, preferably right before bed. But with a light morning wash, the use of oil does not make sense - at this time of day it is better to do with a regular foam or tonic.

      Reviews

      Reviews of hydrophilic oil are generally positive, many begin to use it on the advice of their friends and after the first use they notice the difference.

      Women of all ages note that cosmetics are quite easily and simply washed off, no prolonged washing and soap rubbing is needed, while after using the product, the skin seems to become radiant and acquires a pleasant healthy color, and after a few weeks its elasticity significantly improves. Some even note that with regular use, the contour of the face is tightened.

      The tool is quite versatile - many even use it to cleanse dirty hair and for intimate hygiene.

      The only drawback is the price, a high-quality product costs at least 1,000 rubles, and all the cheaper products are just fakes, the effectiveness of which is highly questionable: they wash off makeup, but there is no improvement in the structure of the skin and the health effect is rather weak. However, this drawback is leveled by the economy of consumption - 3-4 drops are required for one use, so one package may be enough for several months.
