Beautiful, well-groomed eyebrows that look as natural as possible are a real face decoration. It is not surprising that these are the most fashionable eyebrows for several seasons. Many are interested in the question of what to do for those who cannot boast of perfect eyebrows. Can be grown, for example, with castor oil.

Description

Castor oil, popularly called castor oil, is obtained from a plant called castor oil plant. Africa is considered the homeland of the plant, but today it is widespread almost all over the world. In our latitudes, castor bean is often grown in personal plots as an ornamental plant. The oil-rich grains are cold pressed into castor oil. However, in this form, they are overly concentrated, so the use of the product is dangerous. In this regard, the oil is first subjected to a certain thermal treatment, and only then it gets on the shelves of pharmacies.

In pharmacies, it is dispensed without a prescription and has 2 forms - in capsules and in liquid form in dark glass vials.

For growing eyebrows, it is more convenient to use a product in bubbles, which can have a different volume - from 30 to 100 ml. The label should indicate the possibility of external use of castor oil. There is an option for technical applications. This oil contains solvents, pigments, therefore it is prohibited to apply it to the skin.

Composition

The basis of the composition (about 50%) of castor oil is ricinoleic acid. In addition, palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic acids are present here. They are successfully combined with vitamins A and E.

Benefit

With the help of castor oil, you can grow thick and long eyebrows, which is due to its beneficial effect on hair follicles - the product nourishes and moisturizes them. As a result, dormant bulbs begin to function, and weakened ones become stronger. Hair begins to grow more actively, become strong. Castor oil also moisturizes the skin, which is very important for the area around the eyes, because the skin here is thin and easily damaged. Castor oil promotes skin regeneration, moisturizes it, which is largely due to the presence of oleic acid.

The base of castor oil, as already mentioned, is ricinoleic acid. It literally envelops each hair, making it soft and shiny. Thanks to this, it is possible to "shorten" hard naughty eyebrows, to give them the desired shape. With regular application of the product and the simultaneous modeling of the hairs, it is possible to give the eyebrows the desired shape, smooth out the creases on the hairs, which often occur when plucking with tweezers.

Vitamin A, which is present in castor oil, also helps to get rid of coarse eyebrows. To enhance this effect, you can combine the product with olive oil.

Returning to the enveloping ability of ricinoleic acid, it is worth noting that it also helps protect hairs from the negative effects of the environment, in particular from sunburn. Stearic acid also provides protection against high and low temperatures. It is also responsible for the optimal level of moisture in the skin, helps to fight dryness and flaking of the skin in the eyebrow area. The effectiveness of the oil is also due to the presence of palmitic acid in the composition. It allows skin cells and hair follicles to more actively absorb nutrients, that is, it is a kind of conductor. This, by the way, allows you to use castor oil in other masks and healing mixtures for eyebrows. Palmitic acid in its composition will ensure better absorption of nutrients from other ingredients.

Oleic acid helps to improve metabolic processes in cells and follicles. Along with ricinoleic, it accelerates hair growth, allows you to get thick eyebrows. Speaking of ricinoleic acid, it is also worth noting its antibacterial effect. The presence of vitamins A and E allows us to speak about the antioxidant effect of the oil. In addition, it helps to slow down the aging process of skin cells, stimulates the production of collagen. As a result, the skin in the eyebrow area becomes taut and elastic.

The tool can be used to achieve the desired thickness of the eyebrows by reducing the space between the hairs. This is achieved by awakening the follicle, that is, a hair begins to grow in an “empty” place. In addition, the hairs become more voluminous, so the eyebrows look thicker. It is important to understand that these properties of castor oil appear only if there are eyebrows, if the hair follicles are not damaged. If the eyebrows do not grow for genetic reasons, due to the absence or significant damage to the hair follicles, then the use of castor oil is useless.

Harm

Only a fresh product can help with eyebrow care. The shelf life of the oil should not exceed 2 years from the date of production, otherwise it will not be beneficial, but only clog the pores. In addition, an expired product can cause edema and allergies. It is not recommended to use the product for pregnant and lactating women. Do not apply the product immediately after plucking the eyebrows, because at this time the pores on the skin are enlarged and the oil trapped in them will become a kind of "plug". As a result, inflammation can develop.

For the same reason, you should not apply the product if you have open wounds, scratches or other damage to the skin. The oil forms a film, under which there will be a favorable environment for the development of bacteria. Castor oil should be applied carefully, avoiding eye contact.Otherwise, unpleasant sensations, temporary deterioration of the ability to see, tearing cannot be avoided. If oil gets in your eyes, rinse with clean water. The unpleasant sensation will not go away immediately, but it does not pose a great danger to the health of the eyes.

How to use it correctly?

First of all, you should make sure that there are no allergic reactions to castor oil. Their appearance is not uncommon, despite the naturalness of the composition of the product. This is due to the fact that the skin in this area is very thin and delicate.

To test for an allergic reaction, apply a thin layer of castor oil to the wrist or the bend of the elbow and leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with water. If a negative reaction (itching, redness, rashes) has not followed for several hours, then you can apply the product to the eyebrows.

To obtain positive results, the tool should be applied on an ongoing basis, systematically. Then the first positive changes will be noticeable in 2–2.5 months. A long-lasting effect will be evident after about 5-6 months of regular application of the oil. Before applying the product, eyebrows and the skin around them should be thoroughly cleansed by rinsing off makeup, impurities and removing excess sebum. Then use a clean brow brush or mascara to spread the castor oil over the brows. Do not be afraid if the product gets on the skin behind the eyebrow area, here it will also be useful.

It is convenient to apply castor oil at night to give it maximum time to absorb. However, you should not leave the applied product on your eyebrows overnight. This is fraught with edema in the morning, in addition, the product can get into the eyes, stain bedding. It is best to apply the oil with a brush, and after an hour, gently blot the eyebrows with a cotton pad, collecting excess oil. There is no need to rub your eyebrows or try to remove the product completely. The next morning, you should again run over the eyebrows with a dry cotton pad, and then take a clean disc and, moistening it in water or herbal decoction, finally remove the oil from the eyebrows. Do not apply the oil in a thick layer, otherwise it will be quite difficult to get rid of it.

The oil should be slightly warmed up before application. This can be done by placing the bottle on the battery, holding it in warm water or heating in a water bath. Be careful - the oil heats up very quickly. Before use, drip the product on your wrist, if the temperature is pleasant, the composition can be applied to the eyebrows. If the castor oil is too hot, leave it to cool for a while.

After moistening the brush with a small amount of oil, you should first brush it against the hairline and then along it. It is better to carry out the procedure by removing make-up and taking a shower. After the shower, the skin will be slightly steamed, so it will better absorb the nutrients of castor oil. You can preliminarily lightly massage the brow area with your index fingers, moving from the bridge of the nose to the temples. This will improve blood circulation and will promote better penetration of the beneficial components of the composition.

Remember to wash the oil application brush after each use. Otherwise, the oily environment will become a "home" for bacteria, it is unlikely that when using such a "tool" we can talk about the benefits of the procedure.

Once a week, it is recommended to cleanse the skin in the eyebrow area (even where hairs grow) with light scrubs. This will exfoliate the dead cells of the epidermis, which will ensure better penetration of castor oil into the skin.

The tool is able to remove pigment from unsuccessful tattooing. This should be borne in mind when applying oils for tattooing and dyed eyebrows. For the period of treatment, it is better to refuse such procedures, since the effect will be short-lived. However, due to this ability, the oil can also be used to get rid of unsuccessful tattooing, too dark or bright staining results. It will heal the skin, remove pigment and stimulate hair follicles.

Reviews

Castor oil as an eyebrow care product has a large number of positive reviews. Women who have tried this remedy note that the hairs, indeed, began to grow more actively and fall out less often. At the same time, the ease of use of the oil, its availability and economy of use are noted. With regular use, the hairs become softer and more manageable, the modeling of the eyebrows is easier and does not take much time. The main thing is not to forget to apply the mask daily.

Most women note that there is no need to tune in for quick results. The visible effect will be only after 3-4 months, but it will persist for a long time. Even after abandoning the procedure, the hairs retain their strength and well-groomed appearance. Having grown the brows in the desired shape, many ladies resort to applying the oil 2-3 times a week to maintain the effect. You can say a lot about the positive effects of oil for hair, but the photo of eyebrows before and after taking a course of oil masks testifies to this much more convincingly.

In this case, an increase in the thickness of the eyebrows is obvious.

Further on the photo you can see not only the improvement in the condition of the hairs, filling in the "gaps", but also the appearance of shine and expressiveness of the eyebrows.

Pay attention to the following photo. Before the use of castor oil, the eyebrows were "liquid", inexpressive, it was impossible to give them a beautiful shape. After a course of procedures using castor oil, these problems were successfully resolved, giving the eyebrows shine, making their shade more saturated.

According to reviews, it is convenient to keep the oil in an old tube of mascara. Naturally, it must be absolutely clean. If you do not have a special brush for applying oil at hand, you can smear it using cotton swabs. To increase the effectiveness of castor oil for solving certain problems with eyebrows, its combination with other oils and natural ingredients will help. So, to soften hard and protruding hairs, a mask based on castor oil and olive oil will help. The latter must necessarily be cold pressed and unrefined. Mix the components of the mask, warm up and apply to the brows for an hour.

A nourishing and stimulating mask can be prepared by mixing 2 parts castor oil and 1 part vitamin E to accelerate hair growth.

In the pharmacy, it can be found under the name "Tocopherol"... Additionally, you can take inside "Aevit" or any vitamins for nails, skin and hair. The combination of castor oil with burdock and almond oil also gives a good growing effect. Each product is taken in 1 part, the mask is applied for 15-20 minutes twice a day.

The combination of castor oil and vitamin A will give the hairs shine and a well-groomed look. The latter should be taken 2 times less than oil. The mask is applied with a brush as described above. The exposure time is 20-25 minutes. A mask made of camphor and castor oils will help to make the color of the eyebrows more saturated, as well as to "reanimate" and restore their saturation after summer and especially after a seaside holiday. They are taken in equal parts, combined and heated up to + 37– + 40 ° C. You need to apply the product for 10 minutes at intervals of once every two days. The course of treatment is a month.
