Have you decided to buy a swimsuit for the pool and can't make the right choice? When buying, first of all, evaluate the functionality of the new thing.

Nice sports swimsuit:

  • Rather fused than separate. With active training, the bodice of a separate swimsuit can come loose or fly off the body. These swimwear are only suitable for light sports activities. One-piece bathing suit is safer and holds on to the body much better. But if you are very fond of separate swimsuits and do not accept one-piece swimsuits - go for it, buy a swimsuit to your taste.
  • Does not restrict movement and does not expose the body with sudden hand waves.
  • It has large straps, and the back is closed - in this case, you can train in comfort and not be afraid that the swimsuit will slide off you.
  • It has no unnecessary accessories and decorations - beads, ribbons, buttons.
  • Supports the chest well thanks to the sewn-on or removable cup. Or securely fixes the chest with wide straps and dense fabric.
  • Made from quality material.
  • Fits the body tightly. If the swimsuit is too big for you, the straps will part during professional training, if the size is too small, the swimsuit will “screech” in the torso. The size of the swimsuit is designed for average growth, so tall girls need to buy models that are larger in size, and for short ones, on the contrary, one size smaller.
  • The seams are invisible, well-processed, threads and elastic bands do not stick out. To check if the swimsuit is stitched properly, stretch the fabric next to the seam: if holes appear in the seams, the swimsuit is poorly sewn, it will serve you very little and will quickly "creep".It's better not to take it.

When buying, it is advisable to try on a new thing. Bathing suit should not press, rub, fabric cannot wrinkle or stretch too much. It is in the right swimsuit that your workouts will be most productive.

Materials (edit)

The most important criterion when choosing a swimsuit for the pool is the strong fabric from which the product is sewn. For regular classes, you need very high quality material. Chlorine, which is used to clean swimming pools in Russia, can ruin the fabric of a swimsuit and make it look less attractive.

When buying, carefully study the designations on the leotard label, so you will find out what the product is made of. What icons can be there?

  • Pes - polyester. Material for the most inexpensive pool swimwear, which will quickly wear out in the pool water due to its low quality.
  • Co is cotton. Cotton swimwear is the softest and most sustainable and a pleasure to wear, but bleach is the cruel enemy of cotton. Under her influence, such bathing suits turn yellow, stretch, change their original shape.
  • El - elastane. An excellent material for swimwear, products made from it are durable, keep their shape well and dry quickly.
  • Sp is spandex. Its characteristics are similar to elastane - the swimwear is also smooth to the touch, durable, and of high quality.
  • Pa is polyamide. Soft polyamide swimwear is resistant to chlorinated water. In addition, they are quick-drying, and when combined with elastane or lycra, they are considered one of the best options for training in a pool, characterized by high strength.
  • Tac is a tactician. One of the most expensive materials, as swimwear made from this fabric is considered "breathable". In addition, they are very soft, dry quickly and do not stretch.
  • Ny is nylon. The material is used primarily for sports swimwear models, due to its high elasticity. In addition, it has a slimming effect and fits the body well.
  • Microfiber - soft and smooth to the touch products are sewn from it, which dry quickly after workouts and allow air to pass through well. The skin really "breathes" in them, but the cost of such bathing suits is quite high.

A good composition of a swimsuit is 80% polyamide and 20% lycra (or elastane). Another option is 55% polyamide and 45% PBT. PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is not a fabric, it is part of the composition integrated into the material, so the tag may simply indicate elastane or polyester. PBT swimwear is tighter, but smoother and more pleasant to the touch, with high durability and resistance to chlorinated water.

The “Ly” on the label refers to the amount of Lycra in the fabric of this product, which helps to keep it from overtightening and to maintain its shape. Typically, a bathing suit contains about 10% lycra. Some slimming swimsuits may have a lycra content of 2 times more -20%. If the label states that more than 30% lycra in the material is not a very good option for buying, such a swimsuit is practically impervious to air, which negatively affects the skin.

Chlorine in the pool can also negatively affect the elastic bands in the swimsuit, it kind of "eats away" them. Therefore, it is better for athletes to buy a suit, where instead of elastic bands - fabric treated with overlock.

Today, stores offer us swimwear from all of the above materials, try not to be mistaken and get a really high-quality product.

Styles

Suits with an open back and thin shoulder straps

Suitable for sophisticated girls with small breasts. Many of these models are marketed under the Reebok brand. For girls with large breasts, there is a variation of this suit with sewn-in breast support (resembles a top with an elastic band).

Suits with large, intersecting straps at the back

A swimsuit for confident ladies who are inclined to gambling training. This is a rather feminine model that fits the body tightly and emphasizes the slimness of the figure.Wide straps lie softly on the body, do not rub or cut. Such a swimsuit allows you to do more free movement in the area of the shoulders and shoulder blades. He holds his chest perfectly.

Backless Swimsuit

This model hides the body as much as possible, has a slimming effect and good breast support. Ideal for curvy women with large breasts.

When buying, be sure to evaluate the style of the new thing - the suit should mask the flaws of your body and emphasize your advantages - then it will be much more pleasant to practice in it. Side panels in a contrasting color help hide extra pounds at the waist. A triangular neckline will make the neck look longer, and the shoulder straps that join at the collarbone will hide wide shoulders. For example, swimwear with vertical stripes will increase your height, while horizontal ones will add volume.

Some models visually enlarge their breasts with pads, cups in the bodice, and a belt with an elastic band. In others, the content of lycra is increased, due to this, they perfectly tighten and adjust the figure. There are suits with special slimming inserts on the belly. There are many options!

Be guided by your taste, do not skimp on a good bathing suit, and you will be absolutely irresistible in your workouts in the pool!

Separate

Separate training models are used less frequently. They usually consist of a closed sports top with large shoulder straps or a bodice with strong elastic bands. The lower part of the suit is a pair of shorts or panties with a good elastic band.

Baby models

Children's sports swimwear are usually solid color, their fabric is denser than women's swimwear, this prevents slipping during training. For the same reason, swimwear for girls is often produced in one piece, because children usually move even more actively than adults. In addition, the one-piece swimsuit protects a large surface of the skin from bleach, which can be harmful to children.

When buying, you need to correctly determine the required dimension. Unlike adult swimwear, children's size is determined by the height of the child. Therefore, it is necessary to know the height of the girl, because she must be comfortable in a swimsuit. It is best to go shopping with the girl and try on the pool outfit.

If this does not work, it is advisable to take the child's panties with you, of the correct size, and attach them to the purchased product.

A girl's swimsuit should be her size. If you buy a small swimsuit, it will start to rub, press, and if you buy it “for growth” it can simply fall off the child. It is advisable for the boy to buy classic swimming trunks.

Colors

When choosing the color of your swimwear, do not forget about the chlorinated pool water. It will quickly change the brightness of the color, and your swimsuit will lose its original appearance in a couple of weeks. Visible, rich colors will fade, while whites and milky colors may turn yellowish. Too light over time can turn out to be completely transparent in water, because chlorine gradually makes the material thinner. It is best to choose neutral or dark colors for the swimsuit so that the color change in the fabric is not too noticeable.

Decorative fittings may be present, the main thing is that during quick movements it does not cling to anything, does not scratch or rub the skin. Pay attention to what it is made of - plastic decorations will gradually lighten, and plastic ones will become dull.

How to care?

It is very important to properly care for a new thing, because a good swimming outfit is an expensive pleasure. Therefore, it is better to prolong the life of your swimsuit as much as possible, observing some simple rules:

  • After training, rinse your swimsuit in clean, non-hot water (no higher than 40 degrees)
  • Never leave it wet and twisted
  • Only hand wash your swimwear
  • Don't squeeze it out
  • Do not use fabric softeners
  • Do not dry your swimsuit in the sun
  • Don't iron it
  • Do not boil your swimsuit
