French manicure with a signature "smile" is a universally recognized classic. At the same time, it never loses its relevance, as it perfectly "adapts" to the requirements of modern nail art trends. A striking confirmation of this is the French ombre manicure, which is a unique combination of classics and ultra-modern trends in nail design.

Peculiarities

The ombre technique, also called gradient or degrade, appeared just a few years ago, but quickly gained popularity among modern fashionistas of all ages. The main feature of a manicure made using this technique is the presence of smooth color transitions. Initially, this term meant a manicure with a change in color saturation from nail to nail - each subsequent one was darker than the previous one by one tone. Today, this is also called the design of nails, in which a gradient is used inside one nail.

You can decorate a manicure using this technique as with the most common varnish coatings., and gel polish, additionally decorating it with sparkles, rhinestones, stamping. As for the combination of French-style nail design with a gradient, the latter can be applied in the form of familiar stripes, or it can complement the already drawn jacket on the nails, adding spectacularity to it. At the same time, the French degradation will also differ in less strict boundaries between colors than with a classic jacket.

A manicure done in this way looks unusually beautiful, neat and stylish.

What nails are suitable for?

Like the classic French design, a gradient jacket can be applied to nails, regardless of their length.However, medium nails are considered the most suitable for such a manicure. It is on them that he looks especially elegant. By the way, this type of nail design is universal, as it is equally suitable for very young girls and serious mature business woman. In addition, by choosing the right color, you can complement a wedding dress, an evening silk dress, and a summer beach bow.

Color solutions

An ordinary and familiar jacket is a combination of two colors. One of them is the base, the second is applied only to the tips of the nails. Any colors can be used for this design. The stronger the contrast between them, the more spectacular the manicure will look. On the other hand, French in a gradient style suggests using different shades of the same color scheme, since it is in this case that a smooth color transition can be achieved. Most often, for this version of nail art, pastel colors are used, which are considered universal.

Design rules do not limit the choice to only these colors at all., if you wish, you can use any others - from the lightest and warmest, to the coldest and darkest ones. At the same time, it is permissible to arrange colors not only horizontally, but also in a vertical position.

If the gradient is planned to be applied only to the tip of the nail (the one that is painted white in the classic design), then a wide selection of colors and shades is also possible. The main condition is for them to be in harmony with each other.

How to do it?

There are several options on how to decorate nails with fashionable and beautiful nail art in the style of degradation.

Simple option

So, for a classic gradient French manicure, will be required:

  • colorless base;
  • a piece of foam rubber;
  • varnishes.

Two lacquer coatings are required. One is a flesh shade for the main tone, the other is white or any other color you want to highlight the tip of the nail. First of all, a base coat is applied to the nail plate, it is well dried. The main color is also applied and dried.

Then a second varnish is applied to the foam rubber in a thick strip. In order for it to lie down as evenly as possible, the sponge must have a fine-grained structure, but not be very dense. Those that are used for household needs will not work due to too large cells, which will strongly absorb the varnish. Cosmetic sponges, on the contrary, are very dense and will not allow the coloring composition to be absorbed at all, so it is also undesirable to use them.

It is worth picking up something in between, for example, a piece of ordinary foam packaging.

The coating is applied to the nail plate with blotting movements., lightly touching the sponge in those places where the color should be barely noticeable, and pressing it more tightly where a more saturated shade is required. The biggest problem when applying such nail art is to remove varnish from the cuticle. To make it less dirty, you can stick an adhesive tape around the nail plate before starting the procedure, and after everything dries, carefully remove it. If no protective agents are used, then remove the varnish that has got on the skin immediately after staining the nails.

Bicolor

This design usually involves the use of two coatings of the same color scheme. In addition, to create nail art you will need:

  • base (instead of it, it is allowed to use a lighter varnish from the selected ones);
  • fixing composition;
  • a piece of foam rubber;
  • foil sheet.

After preparing the nails, they are covered with a base. To make the manicure brighter, apply the main varnish in several layers. Then the selected varnishes are distributed on the foil in the order in which they want to be seen on the nails. Experts advise applying a darker tone closer to the base - then the marigolds will visually appear longer.

Foam rubber is applied first to the foil, and then the nail is painted with light touches with it. The more approaches, the more intense the color will be (three times application is considered optimal).

At the same time, it is impossible to press hard on the sponge or sponge so that the imprints of their cells do not remain on the nail plates. It is recommended to renew the varnish on the foam rubber after each nail so that it is equally bright on all nails.

With a multi-colored tip

Another way to decorate marigolds in an original way is to design using two different colors at the tip. To create it, prepare:

  • basic coverage;
  • stencils for french;
  • palette and foam rubber;
  • varnishes (depending on color preferences).

After applying the base, stencils for a jacket are carefully glued to the nails. To achieve the desired color transition effect, the selected varnishes are first applied to the palette, where they erase the border between them with a toothpick or small brush. But it is quite possible to do without this procedure and apply the coloring compositions directly to the foam rubber. To do this, with both varnishes, stripes are drawn on the sponge, placing them very close.

To transfer varnishes to the tip of the nail, the sponge is positioned so that the colors lie vertically. Staining is carried out with a light rolling motion, trying not to go beyond the boundaries of the stencil, so as not to spoil the manicure. For greater brightness and color saturation, the procedure is repeated, after which the stencil is carefully removed with tweezers, and the nails are covered with a top.

For greater originality and brightness of the manicure, combinations of different colors can be used on each nail.

Other options for applying a gradient

You can also create a sophisticated ombre jacket with an airbrush. This device allows not only to evenly spray paint, but also to adjust the density of the spray - the closer the nose of the airbrush to the nail, the richer the color will be. Thanks to the use of such equipment, the manicure is smooth, with neat transitions.
