Hollywood hair extension: technology and features of the procedure

Hair extension has become a salvation for those women who, by nature, are not as thick as they would like. The technology allows you to quickly change the length of the curls to create the desired hairstyle. Hollywood building has its own differences, pros and cons, all of this will be discussed in the article.

Hollywood hair extensions came to us from actresses who needed to maintain a stage image, respectively, and increase the length of the curls. The effect of a larger volume was easily achieved using a special procedure, which involved first creating braids on the back of the head, it was to them that the donor strands were attached. Sometimes such a build-up is also called afron build-up due to the use of this kind of braids.

This is not to say that it was convenient to wear such artificial hair, since it had to be fixed with special threads. There could be no question of combing, and all because the curls could be ripped off the head with a slight careless movement, so they did not wear the strands for a long time.

With the advent of new technologies, the method has been improved. Now keratin capsules are used, through which donor curls are attached. But, they alone are not enough, an ultrasonic apparatus is also used in the process.

This is a great solution for those who cannot boast of too thick head of hair, or want to quickly lengthen the curls. But not every woman can afford such a procedure, since there are contraindications, which include several factors:

• natural curls are weak, very brittle and thin;
• there is frequent hair loss;
• if there are any dermatological diseases on the scalp;
• the process of undergoing chemotherapy or the presence of cancer;
• the woman is prescribed a course of antibiotics or hormonal drugs.

Every girl dreams of having luxurious hair, and most stop using Hollywood technology, since she has a number of advantages:

• if we talk about the safety of the procedure, then there is absolutely nothing to worry about;
• you can visit a sauna or bath without worrying that the curls can come off;
• the attachment points of artificial strands cannot be seen, so the extended curls look completely natural;
• the process does not take long.

But the presented method has its drawbacks:

• it is quite an expensive pleasure;
• you will need to make corrections often to maintain attractiveness;
• unprofessional performance leads to stratification of strands;
• not all types of hairstyles are available, since it is impossible to expose the attachment points, it looks unaesthetic.

When compared with other types of hair extensions, for example, California, the capsule holds up better, the volume is simply gorgeous. Only now it will not be possible to extend for short hair using this method, since limiting the length of natural hair is the only obstacle. The length of natural curls should be at least 200 mm, if less, then the joints will become visible.

If girls are afraid that the procedure may harm natural curls, it is in vain, since the ultrasound machine uses a low temperature, which is completely harmless to humans and their hair.

There are two ways this technique is implemented: with capsules and braids. Both are not suitable for short hair, as the requirement for natural hair length remains the same. First, let's look at the outdated version when tresses are used.

In the professional world, it is customary to call tresses donor strands that are attached to natural hair. They must be selected as similar in color and texture of hair as possible for each client individually. The length can be from 300 mm to a meter, for one extension it is allowed to add from fifty to three hundred strands, it all depends on what effect the woman wants to achieve.

For thin hair, this method is one of the most acceptable, there is no talk of any capsules, basically tightly braided braids at the base of the scalp, tresses and threads to fasten them together.

The technology looks like this in stages:

• all hair that is from the forehead line to the crown of the head is pulled into a bun so that it does not interfere;
• then a bun of hair is separated under the tucked ones and a French braid is woven from ear to ear, while the size of the weaving should be from 1 centimeter;
• by means of a special thread that undergoes heat treatment, artificial strands are woven into natural curls;
• the end of the thread that remains is simply cut off.

In an improved version, the master uses capsules, which, in fact, makes the Hollywood build-up similar in principle to the Italian method, the only difference is that there is no temperature effect, only ultrasonic.

The capsules are sealed on the surface, and the device itself chooses the required operating mode, taking into account not only the hair structure, but also their thickness.

The whole procedure is divided into several stages.

• First, you need to wash your hair well and dry it.
• Strands stand out gradually from the total mass. To make it easier to work, most specialists prefer to do longitudinal parting.
• For each small strand, artificial hair is fixed with a capsule. In the process, ultrasonic forceps are used, while the master must control the exposure time depending on the type of hair.
• The optimal result in length and volume is achieved after 130 strands.

As they say, beauty requires sacrifice, and this rule applies to hair extensions too. After the procedure, you have to face some problems, especially if a woman fell into the hands of an inexperienced master.

Masters give advice for a reason - if a woman does not want to face problems in the future, then she should listen to them.

It is not uncommon to observe creases on natural hair. This happens when the curl is squeezed too tightly, or because the girl's hair itself is very thin and weak.

Loss of strands may be observed for the first time when exposed to an ultrasonic apparatus. The whole reason is the lack of sufficient experience from the master or improper hair care, which is very important after extension. It is necessary to use special combs, at the ends of which there are no balls.

It is very important that the specialist uses only high-quality materials, and the girl herself does not miss the deadlines for correction.

There is no exact time when it will be necessary to remove the fake curls, since it depends on how quickly the girl's hair grows back. As soon as the roots have grown, the place where the fastening was made becomes clearly visible. But the loss of aesthetic appeal is far from all; difficulties arise when combing and washing your hair. Curls begin to get very tangled near the roots, tangles appear, so the correction is best done no later than three months after building.

In order not to spoil the joints, a woman will have to abandon the use of masks, oils, combs with a frequent arrangement of teeth. The correction process takes a little more time than the initial extension, since first the capsules must be removed with a special compound, and then the strands must be fixed again. On average, it takes up to 4 hours. When using the old technology with braids, the braids are first untwisted, then washed, dried and braided again, followed by the application of artificial hair.

The capsule is removed with special forceps, the remnants of keratin are simply combed out using a comb.

To style your hair, including braiding, you need to take good care of your hair extensions. The best comb is a wood comb with a large spacing between the teeth. If knots have formed, then it is better to try to untangle them by hand first, only after that start washing your hair. Immediately after the procedure, the hair should not be in contact with water for two days, and at the place where the capsule is located, no care products are used at all.

After removing the artificial curls, you will need to strengthen the roots; for this, masks made from oils and other natural ingredients that are designed to stimulate the growth of bulbs are ideal.Shampoos should be gentle, it is advisable to use balms.

Women who have already taken advantage of the opportunity to add volume and length to their hair argue that proper care can help keep natural hair healthy. Hair dryers, curling irons and irons should be used as little as possible, since the hair is already experiencing additional stress.

The advantage of this extension is that you can color your hair in a standard way, but the products must have a low pH level. If a concentrated shampoo is used, then it is better to dilute it with water so as not to damage the capsules, otherwise the curls may simply fall off.

Wet hair should never be combed or, even worse, twisted. It is correct to comb only after the curls have dried naturally, starting from the bottom and gradually moving towards the roots.

Women really like that when using this technology there are no restrictions on length and volume, which means that every girl can become the owner of a gorgeous head of hair. There is no discomfort in the places of fixation, since only a small number of girls get irritated with Hollywood build-up. Moreover, of the majority of other methods, this one is the most gentle on the hair, therefore the procedure is not cheap.
