A girl with Down syndrome was denied a job 15 times - now she has her own bakery

Colette Divitto, a 30-year-old American woman, had to persevere to get her skills noticed. The girl was born with Down syndrome, which was the reason for the refusals to hire her. 15 times she was shown the door - Colette was not taken by either the nanny or the manager.

Then Colette decided to literally wipe everyone's nose - if people treat her ailment this way, the problem is in them, not in her. After all, the girl is capable.

Own bakery and many orders

Colette had a dream - her own bakery, and she was able to realize it! Now there is no end to orders in her bakery, everyone wants to try the goodies from Coletti's Biscuits.

Colette shared about her interview rejections: “At first the interviews went well, but after a couple of days I got an email saying I wasn’t fit.”

Then she decided that there was nothing to lose - she would start a business, of course, she would have to start small, but nothing happens right away.

Colette's business was small at first, but gradually grew. Colette has about 15 employees and has rented a small kitchen where cookies can be produced on an industrial scale.

The girl herself figured out how to create a website, business cards and purchase products. Colette's place has grown in popularity, selling over a million cookies since starting the business. Customers love the Cinnamon and Chocolate Amazing Cookies the most.

Colette advises everyone not to give up, no matter what, and remember that we are not alone in this world. There will always be kind people ready to support. “It's important to respect others and focus on what you know how to do,” says the entrepreneur.
