How we choose partners: scientists have revealed the main secret of romantic relationships

Often people enter into relationships with partners who resemble their former partners... The explanation for this was found by scientists from the University of Toronto (Canada). The experiment involved 159 men and 173 women. Each of them was asked to name the key traits that they like about their partners.

The experiment began almost 10 years ago. During all this time, the researchers observed how the personal life of the subjects was developing.

It turned out that people in 97% of cases chose new partners who either externally or by psychological characteristics were very similar to their former partners... This is how people are able to "step on the same rake" several times.

And even the negative experience of past relationships cannot force a person to change the idea of what the ideal soul mate should be for him.

This idea, according to scientists, develops in childhood, and parents make a significant contribution to this process. Daughters of older dads are more likely to choose partners much older than themselves, and children born in an interracial marriage are more likely to choose partners of the race that the parent of the opposite sex had.

In addition, the only one for all the same feature was revealed - people try to choose a romantic partner according to their own level of intelligence.

You can talk as much as you like about trends in beauty, fashion, style, the advantages of bald men over hairy, overweight women over thin ones, or vice versa. Each of us will still choose someone who will look like his ex.... And this is the only way it works.
