From love to hate: psychologists told how to predict and prevent betrayal and divorce

American psychologists conducted an interesting study to find out, and what, in fact, not enough young and beautiful couples, why they decide to cheat and divorce.

One hundred and fifty young married couples took part in the scientific experiment, which specialists closely observed during the first 3.5 years of their life together after the wedding.

At the very beginning of the experiment, grooms and brides were asked to pass a simple psychological test, the purpose of which was to determine the likelihood of betrayal and divorce in a given couple, in fact, a simple compatibility test.

While the observations were going on, and psychologists only observed, without interfering in anything, some of the subjects divorced and managed to find new partners for themselves, and some were on the verge of divorce proceedings due to adultery.

A careful study of the environment in each couple who took part in the experiment helped scientists understand what negatively affects family relationships.

It turned out that the strength of the bonds depends on how much husbands and wives are interested in other peoplewho seem more attractive to them than their current partners.

The more men and women were interested in beautiful representatives of the opposite sex, even if the interest was purely platonic, the more often their marriages failed.

The study was conducted at the University of California. The authors of the study advised couples who enter marital relationships to pay close attention to this aspect and make sure that do not create prerequisites for parting.
