Finding your soul mate, a person with whom you can talk about everything and nothing, is perhaps a fix idea for many. Women and men desperate to love and be loved use different methods to find a loved one, and the easiest one these days is dating sites.
But it turns out that these sites have a "dark side", and administrators talked about it. They posted their confessions on Reddit.
Entertainment or seriousness?
There is an opinion that there are not very many people with serious intentions on dating sites - basically everyone is looking for entertainment. According to the administrator, the number of pictures of penises sent to women without their consent was appalling. Another employee shared that he registered several profiles himself to have fun.
But most of all, it upset the admission that the sites do not care whether you find love or not - their algorithms are aimed at making people pay.
“Nobody guarantees you that you will meet someone on the site,” the administrator explains. One user specified the times at which men and women are most often active. The first ones communicate in the application mainly after 22:00, and women prefer to visit the site much earlier.
And now the fun part, so to speak for a snack! One of the sites has hired an army of "ghosts" in the face of teenagers from Russia, France, Ukraine and Serbia. This creates the appearance of a large number of girls on the sites. “There are really a lot of fakes on the sites,” said another person working in the support service.
