It became known why Russians get tattoos

The All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) decided to inquirewhy Russians and Russians like tattoos so much and what pushes them to decide to make a drawing for themselves on the body.

It turned out that more than half of all residents of the country are tolerant and even almost indifferent to the presence of tattoos in others. 27% of the country's residents do not approve of having tattoos, especially among women, and only 15% of those surveyed approve of them.

As for the reasons why women and men decide to get a tattoo, the majority of respondents answered that the main motive was to stand out among their own kind, gain some kind of individuality. 43% of the respondents noted that they simply followed the fashion, did not want to lag behind it.

This is not surprising, experts say, because recently the propaganda of a tattooed body has acquired unprecedented proportions - successful and famous people demonstrate tattoos on bodies, and everyone else clearly does not want to lag behind them.

A third of the respondents said that they got a tattoo "out of stupidity", generally not thinking about this decision, submitting to an impulse. And 19% noted that they had no reason at all and did it just like that.

Before a woman decides to get a tattoo, experts recommend paying attention to one more statistical nuance - a third of those who in their youth got a tattoo for any reason, after 55 years old begins to dream of getting rid of the pattern on the skin.

When asked why, they answered what became of them ashamed or the quality of the drawing does not suit. There were also those who answered that over the years the tattoo ceased to be liked, ceased to be fashionable and relevant. But only 1% of Russians agree to an operation to blend the drawings. It is understandable - reducing a tattoo is much more unpleasant and painful than filling.
