Haute couture online: Russian designers will start creating limited collections for AliExpress
The most popular trading platform AliExpress has decided to diversify the list of offered clothing collections and the usual inexpensive Chinese goods will stand side by side in designer items, however, also quite affordable.
Marketplace has signed contracts with Russian fashion designers. Fashion designers will make limited editions of clothing and footwear for AliExpress, and the site will sell them to Russians and foreign consumers.
The first collection is to be released by the designer Igor Chapurin. He will present it no later than next March.
Chapurin usually works in the luxury segment, and his clothes are well known to fashionistas and fashionistas who are not used to saving money on purchases. But this time the designer has a special task - make exclusive items with an inexpensive starting price.
AliExpress will make and sell such collections on a regular basis with various designers from both Russia and other countries of the world. The goal of the project is to attract additional audience to online shopping and show that branded items are not at all scary to buy on the Web.
