The fashion for pink shades will never go away. A variety of dyes, tinting mixtures allows you to achieve strawberry color on any type of hair. In this article, we will consider who is suitable for pink blond, how to choose the right dye, what you should pay attention to. There will also be presented step-by-step instructions for staining and subsequent care for an incredible attractive color.

Who is it suitable for?

Strawberry blonde belongs to cold shades, so it is preferable to wear it for girls with cold skin color. Owners of yellowish and olive shades should beware of pinkish hair color, as it is able to visually make the face gray, the skin will seem tired, "lifeless". Strawberry hair draws attention to the person's face. If you have rosacea, pimples or other inflammation and redness on your face, then dyeing your hair in a pinkish tone should be postponed for later.

Berry color can be of different saturation - from catchy, close to fuchsia, to soft pastel color. The choice of the saturation of the shade also depends on the color type of the girl. "Winter" darlings can safely choose a bright, clean palette; for "summer" girls, low-saturation watercolor colors are more suitable.

The palette of shades of strawberry blonde can contain colors with the addition of a golden nuance or pearl, which is a mixture of purple and blue pigments.

Choice of paint

The choice of paint is individual. You can use ready-made kits presented in the mass market segment - these are the well-known boxes of paint L'Oreal, Garnier Color, Faberlic - or purchase a professional dye Matrix, Kapous, Wella and others. The second option allows you to independently compose a coloring mixture of any shade.

How to choose a color? Whatever paint you buy, any product is numbered with a numerical value, for example, 9.52 or 10/1. The first number indicates the level of tone depth, where 1 is black and 10 is very light blonde. The second number is a color nuance, the third is an additional nuance. For example, 1 is ash, 2 is golden, 5 is copper. It turns out that 9.52 is a light copper-golden blonde.

Some manufacturers produce products with a letter designation, for example, 7BG, where B is beige (beige), G is gold (golden).

What color nuances the selected dye has, it is worth learning from the technical palette card, since the digital meaning and description differ in different brands. The same goes for ready-made dyes from the mass market.

How do I get the color?

To achieve a uniform pinkish tint on your hair, remember that any bright, light or saturated color is superimposed only on a light base, that is, dyeing bleached hair 9-11 level... You can look at the levels of hair tone depth in any palette of professional colors. These high values are achieved by bleaching or lightening the hair. It is advisable to give this work to professional hairdressers.

If the base is ready and there is a desire to become a strawberry blonde, then you should purchase special tint paints, balms or shampoos. What is the difference?

Balms, shampoos, as a rule, have few color pigments in their composition, which helps the selected shade to be easily and quickly washed out of the hair, and the toning process itself takes less time and is not so persistent.

Professional dyes and mixtones used by hairdressers require hair coloring skills and knowledge of the basics of color.

A pinkish color scheme is obtained by mixing two colors - red and purple. Special thinners are often added to this mixture to lower the color saturation level. Or mixton is used - pure pigment. Mixton is available in all colors: from yellow to purple.

When dyeing hair, even at home, be sure to remember that porous hair needs a lot of dye mass and a short exposure time (depends on the saturation of the selected shade and the degree of hair damage). On average, a professional dye manufacturer spends 20 minutes for toning hair. But, it is always worth doing a visual check of the staining.

Some colors on a discolored base set in 5 minutes and further exposure to the dye results in a richer color than originally planned.

For short hair and medium length (square), it takes from 20 to 40 grams of paint, for long hair - from 60 to 100 grams. Any professional product is mixed with a low percentage oxidizer. For some firms it is 1.5%, for others - 2.4%. The toning dyes do not contain ammonia (semi-permanent paint), which has a beneficial effect on the hair structure without causing damage. The oxidants themselves have the function of delivering the coloring pigment deep into the hair by opening the cuticle and generating heat, since they contain hydrogen peroxide.

After staining, the lightened base it is necessary to treat with shampoo for colored hair of the same brand as the selected dye... This is not a whim of the manufacturer, but a technological process. The shampoo contains substances that help to stop and complete the process of dyeing the hair, and to close the cuticles. All this allows you to extend the durability of the resulting color. Caring ingredients help to repair hair damage.

How to create a coloring formula? The formula or recipe is calculated as follows.

Tinting dyes are mixed with an oxidizing agent in a 1: 2 or 1: 1 ratio. For example, we take two shades 9.9 and 9.3, where 9 is purple and 3 is red.

Recipe: 9.9 + 9.3 + OX in a ratio of 1: 1: 2, in grams you get 20 + 20 + 80 or 20 + 20 + 40 (1: 1: 1).

For the finished color, the recipe will be the following 9.34 + OX in the proportions described above.

If you use a ready-made set from the mass market, then you do not need to calculate anything, you can immediately start dyeing your hair.

Before any staining hair must be prepared for the procedure. A few weeks before the date of dyeing, the hair is moistened with various masks, thick balms. Bleaching / lightening itself occurs necessarily on dirty hair. The natural sebum layer helps protect the delicate scalp from heat and food chemicals, thus avoiding scalding.

Any kind of staining is accompanied by an allergy test. A small amount of the coloring product is applied to the inside of the bend of the elbow for 30 minutes. At the first signs of redness, itching, irritation, rash, the paint is immediately washed off, antihistamines are taken. Hair coloring for people prone to allergies is prohibited. If there are no changes and reactions on the skin, then the paint can be applied to the hair.

Natural base coloring

Before you start dyeing your hair in strawberry blond, you need to determine the level of tone depth of the natural base. If the hair is dark - from 1 to 5 levels - then you will need the help of a supra, it is also a powder for bleaching the hair. If the level of depth of tone is within 6-8, then lightening dyes are used here. As we remember the hair must be raised to the 10th level of the depth of tone.

For girls with level 6–8, it will be enough to use a ready-made dye with the selected pinkish nuance. For dark-haired young ladies, hair coloring ends with toning the finished base in the chosen color scheme.

Do not worry that the pink shade will cover the yellowness poorly. As we said, the color of the dye consists of two colors - purple and red. Violet pigment is excellent at neutralizing yellowness, so you will not end up with a reddish tint to your hair.

Before dyeing your hair with a finished product, be sure to read the instructions, since not all companies have a dye that is capable of lightening hair at levels 6-7 to the desired level.

Toning of a lightened and discolored base

The resulting light base needs to be saturated with pigment, since the hair after the lightening / bleaching procedure is empty. There should be a lot of toning mixture, the exposure time of the product is according to the instructions, but with visual control. The first time the color will most likely turn out to be very saturated, do not be alarmed. With each shampooing, some of the pigment will be washed out of the hair, which will lead to a dull shade and a decrease in its saturation.

Due to this it is recommended to perform toning every week or two, depending on the degree of hair damage. It is not recommended to store the ready-made tinting mixture, since the effect of the paint after mixing with the oxidizing agent lasts only 20 minutes, after this time the dye “does not work”.

Coloring red hair

The most difficult procedure, since red hair is distinguished by the structure and amount of pheomelanin pigment, which, in turn, is difficult to correct with artificial pigments. Red hair is treated with powder, followed by toning with a mixture containing blue pigment. This work should be entrusted professional hairdresser... It is impossible to achieve a pastel strawberry shade on a natural ginger base.

For toning, mainly colors are used that are close to pink, but are in a warm range.

Step-by-step instructions for dyeing hair using the example of a natural base using lightening paint.

  • The first step is to select the desired dye, for example, 9.23 from L'Oreal. The work will be done on natural hair of the 7th level of depth of tone.
  • All hair is collected on the crown, the body is covered with a cape or an old towel so that the dye does not get on the clothes.
  • Hair coloring will occur from the back of the head. For convenience, four sections can be distinguished: parting from ear to ear and from forehead to occiput.
  • The finished dye is diluted as indicated in the instructions.
  • The dye is applied to the entire length of the hair in the occipital zone, 1–2 cm away from the roots. All subsequent sections are processed in the same way.
  • Further, it is necessary to distribute the dye over the hair roots, also starting from the occipital zone. The dye is distributed in such a way as to achieve an even color. The back of the head and hair length are "cold" and require more time and heat for the artificial pigment to penetrate into the hair structure. The "hot" zone is the roots, in this area chemical reactions are the fastest.
  • After the end of the staining of the last area, the time indicated by the manufacturer is recorded - from 30 to 45 minutes.
  • When the exposure time is over, the hair must be washed with shampoo for colored hair until the water becomes transparent, then use a balm, mask.

Do not comb hair with dye applied, including tinting mixture. This will lead to uneven coloration as well as additional damage to the hair.

Follow-up care

Subsequent care is reduced to maintaining the shade and strengthening the hair. To update the strawberry blonde, apply the same tinting mixture that was used for the first time, tint balms, tonics, mousses or special shampoos for cold shades. In caring masks, balms, shampoos, it is allowed to add a small amount of pink mixton - less than 1 g for the full capacity of the product. In this way, you can create your own tint product.

It is not recommended to mix tinting agents from different manufacturers, as each product contains a different amount of artificial pigments.

Once a month, secondary coloring is carried out, that is, the coloring of the root zone of the hair. It is advisable to carry out this procedure on the same day so that the color on the overgrown base is uniform, without stripes.

If you frequently use a hair dryer or curling iron or straightener, we recommend purchasing a heat protectant cream or spray. Colored hair is especially sensitive to high temperatures and needs additional protection.

It is not recommended to rinse dyed hair with chamomile and other infusion on natural ingredients, as well as use water with vinegar. All these tools can distort the color and lead to subsequent difficulties in toning the finished base.

Changing natural hair color to creative and trendy shades is a fun endeavor. Strawberry blond is able to give girls of "cold" color type freshness and mystery. Try yourself in experiments - if there is a fear that the color scheme may not fit or that you will not cope with the staining, then the hairdresser will always help you out.
