Salon procedures for the care of eyelashes, in particular, such as extension, coloring and lamination, require not only qualified execution, but also the availability of consumables from the master, one of which is patches. They are divided into several varieties. Patches can be made of different materials, have not only protective, but also other functions. Consider these products in more detail in our article.

What it is?

During the extension procedure, patches are applied to isolate the lower cilia. They are applied to the lower eyelid area. In this situation, it is very important to use proven and high quality products, since the thin skin around the eyes is very easy to injure. They are glued along the growth line of the ciliary row.

The scope of patches is wide enough. They can be used for eyelash extensions, lamination and coloring. In addition, with the help of patches it is possible to carry out procedures that nourish the skin and restore it.

You can choose the same patches for dyeing eyelashes and for extending them. The only difference is in the method of gluing. In the first case, they fit under the eyelashes in order to capture everything, in the second, they overlap the bottom row, since no work is being done with it.

It should be noted that getting patches on the mucous membrane is highly undesirable. They should be applied, slightly stepping back from the border. Otherwise, there is a risk of the gel or cosmetic components entering, which will lead to irritation.

These products in cosmetology can be called consumables.

They protect the cilia of the lower eyelid, help prevent burns, protect from allergic reactions and mechanical damage. The main advantage of patches is that no chemical compounds used in various procedures penetrate through them.

Varieties

There are several ways to categorize eye patches by type. One of them depends on the number of applications. Products can be disposable and reusable.

  • In the first case, patches can be sold in large packs of 10 to 100 pieces. This option is most often used in beauty salons. It is considered the most hygienic and convenient.
  • Reusable stickers are usually sold in pairs. They are most conveniently used for home care procedures, after which it is possible to thoroughly rinse the products under running water and treat them with antiseptics.

The following division into types can be done in the form of patches. They may be:

  • rectangular;
  • in the form of a crescent;
  • in the form of an asymmetric crescent.

The choice should be made based on the shape and size of the eyelids. It is best for specialists to have several types of products in their arsenal.

Another type of classification involves the division of products into types depending on the material of manufacture. Various options apply:

  • hydrogel;
  • collagen;
  • silicone;
  • gel;
  • silk;
  • vinyl;
  • fabric.

Experts believe that the first three have the best parameters. They fit comfortably on the eyelids and are securely fixed on them.

A number of stickers have special impregnations - moisturizing or soothing. Some masters prefer to make their choice in their favor.

Let's consider the varieties most popular among consumers.

Hydrogel

Hydrogel and gel eyelid patches are probably the most common variety among consumers. It is hydrogel stickers that are most often used by masters for eyelash extension. They have great references.

At the heart of such a product is a medical polymer material with a hydrogel inside. They are distinguished by their comfort and convenience. They are carried out mainly in white, which makes it easier for the extension master, since the eyelashes stand out well against this background. Such patches do not come off and do not interfere, they are pleasant in sensations. It is difficult to imagine a situation where they rub their eyes or cause an allergic reaction.

You can also decide on the thickness, which depends on the amount of gel. There are ultra-thin products. Such pads are also convenient because they do not leave villi on the skin. You can choose a specific size.

Another undeniable advantage is that the patches have a beneficial effect on the eyelids. The skin becomes softer and softer. However, it does not do without drawbacks, and the main one is the high cost of products.

New items have appeared on the market today. These are patches that, according to the manufacturers, contain exclusively vitamin E and collagen. They can be used to nourish and moisturize the skin.

Tissue

Many clients love textiles. They are very thin, therefore do not create discomfort and do not interfere... Impregnation of linings with various fillers allows you to saturate the skin with nutrients and perfectly moisturize it.

These patches are cheaper than hydrogels. However, some masters admit that working with them is not very convenient. This is especially true for novice specialists.

The products are almost transparent, which excludes the presence of contrast between them and the eyelashes. Also, not everyone likes that small villi can remain on the eyelids and cilia.

With markup

Correct markings are very important for eyelash extensions. Its illiterate application can significantly affect the result of the work. You can apply the markup yourself, or you can use finished products. This moment is especially important for beginners.

For dyeing eyelashes

For the procedure for dyeing eyelashes, you must use special products. They are quite thin and made of silicone. The skin around the eyes is reliably protected from coloring compounds.

These stickers are considered innovative.... They are securely fixed to the skin and do not slip on it. In addition, the cosmetic effect should be noted. The patches may contain hyaluronic acid, which helps to reduce expression lines.

Natural extracts also have beneficial effects on the skin. Gold stickers soften and soothe.

How to choose?

The ideal option is considered to be patches that are lint-free, thin and non-irritating to the skin, made from gel. If larger pieces have been selected, they can be cut neatly. For pads, stickiness is also important.

It must be borne in mind that the presence of several types of patches will help determine the choice in the future. It is necessary to take the comfort of clients and the convenience of the master as a basis. Besides, it is important to consider the safety of materials.

How to glue and remove?

Patching procedure should be preceded by treatment of the skin of the eyelids. Micellar water or tonic is used for the procedure. The skin should dry out, after which patches can be glued to it.

The eyes should be wide open. The upper eyelashes are neatly separated from the lower ones. If a protective layer is present, it must be removed from the patches. After that, the sticker is applied starting from the outside of the eye, right over the lashes. The product is gently smoothed towards the nose.

Maximum isolation of the lower lashes is only possible when the patches fit snugly against the eyelid.

After that, the eyes are closed, and a pad is glued to the upper eyelid right along the growth of the cilia, but without touching them. Bubbles and creases are smoothed out. In the case when grooves are present on the sticker, the eyelashes are distributed directly over them.

The patches are removed from the outer edge. You need to pull them up a little. For better peeling, you can moisten the products with micellar water. Abrupt movements should not be made. If irritation occurs, you need to immediately remove the patches and drip your eyes with medications.

What can be replaced?

If necessary, in some cases, you can replace professional patches with other stickers. They can be made from scrap materials such as cotton wool and cotton pads, napkins, gauze, thin fabric and others. A roll-on adhesive plaster and a bactericidal plaster will do. You can also use special tissue-based eye patches. They will perfectly fix the cilia.

        The main limitation concerns the use of stationery and construction tape as patches, as well as electrical tape. Care should be taken to avoid contact with materials not intended for skin contact.
