Korean mini-masks for the area under the eyes have managed to make a real revolution in the field of cosmetology. Their effectiveness has been proven by millions of women who were able to get rid of dark circles, swelling, traces of fatigue, fine expression lines under the eyes thanks to small sticky patches with an active nourishing serum in the composition.

But if the funds themselves do not raise doubts about their quality, then disputes arise regularly about how to use eye patches from Korea. Usually the manufacturer gives only general recommendations, but does not explain the subtleties of the process.

Peculiarities

Not so long ago, Korean cosmetics were enriched with a new product: patches, or compact masks, which should not be applied to the entire face, but to its local areas. Usually these products come in the form of comma-like patches of hydrogel, collagen, tissue, silicone. Their use can be recommended exclusively for the area under the eyes or on any areas of the skin with active facial expressions.

In South Korea, 2 types of patches are most popular: hydrogel and anti-inflammatory (for acne). The former are applied locally and short-term. The latter are used at night to remove pronounced signs of inflammation, to stimulate the opening of the abscess and the release of its contents to the surface.

Hydrogel-based eye patches consist of a special polymer capable of absorbing nourishing essence, like a sponge, and giving it to the skin upon contact. Depending on which active ingredients are used in the impregnation, the color of the "patches" also changes.

For example, charcoal patches always black: most often the raw materials for them are obtained by burning bamboo, gold contain the smallest particles of natural colloidal gold. Green color usually found with algae-based mini-patches. Pink patches contain oils and extracts of natural rose.

An important distinguishing feature of Korean patches is unique composition... Hyaluronic acid, ice mushroom extract, panthenol, glycerin, collagen, peptides and amino acids, antioxidants, natural oils and plant extracts are actively used. Exclusive ingredients are also popular: snail mucin filtrate, pearl dust, marine collagen, colloidal gold or silver.

In addition, the effect obtained also differs, because the remedy can:

  • bleach;
  • supply;
  • moisturize;
  • eliminate swelling;
  • regenerate;
  • rejuvenate;
  • remove inflammation on the skin.

These features largely account for the effectiveness of Korean patches, making them attractive to consumers.

Homemade masks give a short-term, but clear effect, and with course use they help to overcome more serious age-related changes.

Operating principle

Understanding how Korean patches work is pretty straightforward. These mini-masks are intended for topical use and have a pronounced effect on the area under the eyes, also called periorbital. The skin here is drier and thinner, the first wrinkles appear on it, and with intense exertion, lack of sleep under the lower eyelid, clearly visible bruises and traces of edema appear.

The patches have a special shape, resembling a crescent moon, one end of which is rounded. Depending on the location of the problem, the products are applied with a wider part under the outer or inner corner of the eye, instantly saturating the tissues with valuable nutrients.

Koreans, knowing full well that most processes run better if additional pressure is exerted on the tissue from the outside, prefer compression hydrogel patches.

With their help, it is possible to easily achieve a lifting effect, eliminate edema, refresh the skin and fill in fine wrinkles.

On contact with the skin, the patches give off the ingredients they contain intensively. The essence formula, which is selected for impregnation, helps nutrients to be absorbed quickly and have a pronounced effect on the affected area.

The lack of moisture is traditionally replenished with the use of hyaluronic acid, skin regeneration is stimulated by collagen, and caffeine protects against dehydration. With a single use, the effect obtained from applying the patches does not last long. Cosmetologists from Korea recommend using them courses to consolidate the result.

How to apply?

When using patches at home, it is very important to apply these remedies correctly. Usually, each package is accompanied by instructions that allow you to understand exactly how to make the application. It is imperative to glue patches on the area under the eyes after thorough cleansing of the skin. The use of the product without this stage will lead to the fact that the effect will be markedly reduced.

To cleanse the eyes and the area under them, it is recommended to use exclusively 2-phase compounds that turn into foam on contact with water. After that, you can apply a tonic to help prepare the surface for absorption of the composition.

The description of the order of actions for the subsequent use of patches will be as follows:

  • open the individual packaging or separate the masks with a spatula;
  • gently place the applications on the area under the eyes 2-3 mm below the lash line;
  • leave the product for a while;
  • gently remove the "plasters" in the direction from the inner corner of the eyelid to the outer;
  • wait until the remainder of the essence is absorbed and apply the eye cream.

Depending on the method of application and the presence of specific problems, the fixation of the patches can be made with a wide rounded edge to the area of "crow's feet" or to the bridge of the nose.

The intensity of the influence of the nourishing essence on the skin depends on the coverage area. If patches are used to combat edema, first, it is recommended to carry out lymphatic drainage procedures: massage the area under the eyes. And only after 30–35 minutes the application can be used.

Anti-inflammatory patches are used locally: on the surface of the eel formation zone. They stick like regular plasters, hold well and can last up to 12 hours. Round hydrogel patches are considered universal: they are used in areas of formation of mimic wrinkles to fill them, they are used to refresh the skin and moisturize it. They can be applied to the area between the eyebrows, forehead.

In the corners of the lips, it is more convenient to apply traditional teardrop-shaped applications... Cloth patches are applied to the skin, pressing them firmly. When using them, you need to retreat from the eyelash growth line by 1.5-2 mm.

How long to keep?

The duration of exposure to the under-eye skin with Korean patches should be strictly limited. When it comes to a hydrogel product, the contact duration recommended by the manufacturer must be observed. As a rule, 1 session is exhausted for a period of 20-30 minutes. With a longer contact with the skin, the hydrogel, having given up all the moisture, begins to take it from the tissues, and the effect of the procedure is noticeably reduced.

In the first 5 minutes of exposure it is recommended to maintain a fixed head position. After that, the patches no longer slip off the skin and you can lead a normal life.

In the case of anti-acne products, the length of contact of the patch with the skin will be different.

Active anti-inflammatory substances should act on the affected area for as long as possible. The patch is fixed on the skin in the evening and left on for 8-12 hours. Sometimes the application has to be repeated 2 evenings in a row.

How often to use?

Without knowing how to properly use Korean cosmetics, it is quite difficult to believe in its effectiveness. Most of the funds are intended for a cumulative effect. And deciding how often to stick the patches, do not limit yourself to the frequency of 1-2 times a month.

The frequency with which you can use patches from Korea largely depends on the type and purpose of the product. In most cases, manufacturers recommend these products. as needed. For example, before an important date, going out or after a long flight. To do this, it will be enough to keep on hand 1 sachet with a couple of patches. However, this is the traditional European approach.

That's not how Koreans use patches. They use the funds in courses of 2-3 months, applying miniature masks every 3 days. This systematic approach provides the opportunity to obtain results comparable to the effect after salon treatments or the use of an expensive cream.

Do not use the product more often: nutrients take time to take effect. Long breaks are also harmful, because in this case, the effect of the product on the skin will not be deep enough.

Where is the best place to store?

Compliance with storage rules is of great importance: if they are violated, the highest quality and most expensive cosmetics will be useless and even dangerous. Eye patches from Korea come in a fairly comfortable release form. They are sold in individual sachets in pairs or sold in banks for 30-60 pairs. The hydrogel base is sensitive to drying out and requires certain storage conditions. Patches of this type must be kept in a tightly closed container, removing them only when necessary, separating the pair for use with a special spatula.

Mini masks can also be stored in the refrigerator, although this is not necessary.... Maintaining a comfortable room temperature is usually sufficient. Additional cooling gives the necessary lifting effect, helps to quickly get rid of edema, and stimulates the regeneration of skin cells.

But it is important not to overdo it, otherwise the active components of the serum may completely lose their effectiveness. They are contraindicated in sharp frequent changes in temperature storage conditions.

    It is recommended to store opened packaging of Korean patches no more than 3 months. This is due exclusively to the bacteriological safety of the agent, in which an unfavorable microflora begins to develop at room temperature. In the refrigerator, you can increase these periods, but you need to monitor the condition of the impregnation so that it retains its moisture content and consistency.
