In the modern world, every self-respecting woman strives to be beautiful and well-groomed from the ends of her hair to the heels. Today we will talk about one of the ways of caring for the latter. Let's take a look at all the pros and cons of using electronic foot files, tell you how to use them, and briefly walk through the main manufacturers to help you choose.

What is

An electric heel file is a small device that consists of a handle and an abrasive roller. The principle of operation of an electric saw is as simple as its design: The rotating roller at high speed gently removes the dead skin layer at the push of a button. The use of this device is absolutely safe, when used as directed in accordance with the instructions, it will not have any traumatic effect.

Advantages.

  • Ease of use. To remove rough skin with a power saw, you do not need to make any effort, just insert the batteries and turn it on.
  • Convenience. Due to the streamlined shape of the handle, the device fits comfortably in the hand, does not slip.
  • Speed. Compared to a mechanical heel file, an electric heel file will save you tons of time.
  • Comfort. The procedure performed with such a device is painless and does not cause discomfort.
  • Cost savings. It is enough to purchase a device once, and replaceable rollers will cost much less than a regular visit to the salon.

Like any other tool, electric power saws have their drawbacks. Their presence or absence depends on the specific model. Of the most common, the following can be noted.

  • Price. Electric files are often quite expensive. You can, of course, find models in the range of 500-800 rubles, but you should not expect amazing results from them.
  • Noise. There are silent models, but most of the low and middle price segment files make rather loud noises when working.
  • Dust. During the procedure, a lot of skin dust is formed, which rises into the air.
  • Frequent replacement of components is required. Buying more expensive models with a battery and diamond-coated abrasive roller surfaces can solve this problem.

How to choose the right one

In general, there are no cardinal differences between devices from different manufacturers - they all have a similar design and purpose. When choosing, you should focus on the features of the skin of the feet and your personal preferences.

  • For sensitive skin, it is better to choose rollers with fine abrasive particles.
  • A roller file with a laser cut on an abrasive roller can handle strong corns and old calluses. It provides high-quality cleaning and at the same time polishes the skin, making it even smoother.
  • For skin prone to irritation, a silver-coated roller is ideal to prevent the growth of germs.
  • There are also models with a waterproof case, which allows you not to fear damage to the device if water accidentally gets on it. They can even be completely washed or disinfected if more than one person is using the file.

Operation and care

You do not need to steam your feet before using an electric file; it is enough to wash and dry them. The surface of the feet is treated with smooth reciprocating movements, without pressure and pressure. Otherwise, there is a risk of removing the living layer of the skin, which is fraught with injuries, followed by even more severe coarsening of the skin of the feet. During the process, care must be taken to prevent foreign objects such as clothing or hair from falling under the rotating roller. Upon completion, the remnants of skin dust are washed off from the feet, a moisturizer is applied.

It is not recommended to carry out the procedure in the presence of severe cracks, open wounds, skin irritation.

Only the skin of the feet is allowed for processing. The electronic file is not designed for nails. Using it for manicure can lead to damage to the nail plate, as well as to getting into the nail file mechanism and subsequent damage to the device. Rinse and dry the attachment after each use. The abrasive rollers of power saws wear off over time, so they need to be replaced periodically. They are sold either complete with the device or separately. The hardness of the abrasive component can be selected depending on the sensitivity of the skin. The degree of hardness is usually written on the packaging.

Review of popular manufacturers

  • Scholl. The most famous manufacturer of electric foot saws at the moment. It is due to the fact that everyone knows this company that the prices for their devices and components are an order of magnitude higher than for models from other manufacturers with similar functionality. All manufacturer's roller files are diamond-coated, which can significantly extend the service life of the attachments. Inexpensive Scholl models run on four batteries; more expensive ones are equipped with a battery. If you read the reviews, you can see that many women agree on one thing: there are cheaper devices on the market that are not inferior, and often even superior in efficiency, to the roller files of this brand.
  • Polaris PSR 1012. It is a fairly budget option both in price and quality. It will cope well with a light pedicure, but it will not be possible to remove old corns and corns at once. Powered by two AA batteries. Among the advantages over other analogs is the low weight of the device.
  • Scarlett Vita Spa. Another popular electronic file.Equipped with a moisture-resistant housing, it has two rollers (for grinding and polishing), a brush for cleaning and separators for fingers. Battery powered, can be used without problems while charging from the mains. Of the minuses of this model, not the greatest power is allocated.
  • Rowenta MP4010F0. Has an unusual curved handle, which allows the device to lie comfortably in the hand. Powered by batteries supplied with one replacement roller, whirlpool bath and cleaning brush. Has 2 speed modes. Of the shortcomings, the reviews of some customers speak of the insufficient power of the device and the too sensitive roller: at the slightest pressure on the skin, it stops rotating.
  • Panasonic ES2502 has a handle with a rotating head, and many useful attachments and a cleaning brush included. Powered by batteries, one pair of which is enough for 2-3 times of use. Not suitable for everyday home use, as the abrasive on the replaceable attachments wears off very quickly. It is better to take such a device with you on a trip as a temporary replacement for the main file.
  • Oriflame Feet Up PediSmooth. Quite a simple tool for its price. Powered by four AA batteries, which are purchased separately. The set includes a transparent silicone cover to protect the roller from dust during storage. It copes well with the assigned tasks, it is simple and convenient to use. Of the minuses, it can be noted that it is impossible to buy this device in a regular store or pharmacy, it can only be ordered from a catalog.
  • Gezatone 126D. One of the most famous analogues of the Scholl file. Battery powered, backlit and waterproof. Thanks to the battery, it has a high operating speed (up to 4200 rpm), which has a positive effect on the result. The set includes 2 rollers for the skin of varying degrees of sensitivity. A significant disadvantage is that replaceable abrasive rollers for this file are not everywhere on sale.
  • AEG PHE 5642. The main advantage of this model is its relatively low price compared to electronic files from other manufacturers. The complete set includes the device itself with a nozzle, 3 additional rollers for replacement and a brush for cleaning. Powered by just two batteries, this makes the gadget lightweight. The abrasive material is not of the highest quality, the rollers quickly deteriorate and need to be replaced. The back of the roller is closed, which is both an advantage and a disadvantage. A definite plus - during processing, the skin dust does not fly in all directions, but collects in a recess behind the roller. A significant disadvantage is the inconvenience of working with hard-to-reach places and bends.

Summing up, it is worth saying that the electric heel file is a modern and convenient device that is quite capable of displacing old pumice stones from the shelf in the bathroom. But it is not able to replace full-fledged foot skin care. Its main function is to keep the legs tidy. A truly good and long-lasting result can be achieved only with comprehensive care, combining the use of an electric saw with foot baths, creams and a selection of high-quality shoes.
