The aroma of coffee is a fascinating smell, without which millions of inhabitants of our planet are not able to live. This drink has surprisingly harmoniously and firmly entered our life, which makes it difficult to imagine warm friendly evenings or family meetings without it. True fans of the coffee drink are convinced that in order for the taste of coffee to be fully revealed, it must be prepared in accordance with all the rules, and served using only special coffee sets.

Materials (edit)

There are several types of coffee sets according to the material of manufacture. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages.

  • Glass. The main advantage of glass sets is their relatively low cost and attractive appearance. Glass is a durable and reliable material, but it is still best to test its quality before purchasing. This is done quite simply - take a simple pencil and tap on each object, if the sound is loud and loud, then you can safely purchase this set.
  • Porcelain. This is a traditional material for making coffee and other sets. When the coffee drink first appeared, it was drunk from ordinary cups. But as its popularity grew, specific traditions began to take shape. Serving a drink in a special service is one of them. This is due to the special properties of porcelain. It retains heat well and does not get very hot. Only the highest quality porcelain has an absolutely smooth surface.

To check its quality, you also need to knock on any item from the service, but the sound should be light and delicate.

  • Ceramics. Ceramic coffee sets are difficult to compare to glass or porcelain models. In the first place when buying such dishes are practicality and cost.To check the quality of a set, look at the rims of the cups. There should be no glaze on the inside, the opposite will indicate the low quality of the service.
  • Silver and copper sets. These are noble and sophisticated models. They have a beautiful appearance, have a long service life and are practical.

Selection criteria

When choosing, you need to pay attention to the following features of the coffee service.

  • Number of persons. As a rule, sets are made for 6 persons, which is an unspoken rule in the production of all types of tableware. However, you can find options for 2 persons or 12 persons. Usually a set for 6 people consists of at least 15 items: saucers, cups, teapot, milkmaid and sugar bowl. If you want to purchase an extended set, in which, in addition to the named items, you will find a teapot, a candy bowl and dessert plates.
  • For everyday use you can purchase a simple version with a discreet design and a minimum of items.
  • For celebrations it is important to choose a high quality and original service. In many families, they are carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation as a family heirloom.
