The profession of a technician is very attractive to many people. This specialization is divided into several types - aviation, expert technician and design technician, warehouse technician, mining and other types of specialty. Depending on this, the responsibilities, the required skills and knowledge, and the place of work differ.

Description of the profession

The very name of the activity "technician" indicates that this specialist is engaged in various large and small machines. He can work both in industry, in transport, and in the energy sector, and in the field of consumer services. In terms of qualifications, technicians occupy an intermediate position between workers and engineers.

Most often they have secondary education. In some important and challenging areas, they must pursue higher education.

Types of specialists

Aviation technician

Another abbreviated name is "aircraft technician". Such specialists perform ground maintenance of aircraft and their onboard equipment, various equipment. Having received a higher education, an aircraft technician can lead a repair or maintenance service. A whole system of professional training has been created, with a significant number of educational institutions. After additional training and practical training, these specialists sometimes transfer to aircraft crews.

There is little romance in this area. Aircraft technicians work physically hard, dealing with many dirty objects and soiling liquids. The responsibility is very high, despite the fact that many actions have to be performed in a short time.Between them there is a division into those who work with the engine and other mechanical systems, and specialists in the field of communication and control systems. In military aviation, personnel are additionally allocated to service the armament of aircraft and helicopters; there is usually also a grading for specific aircraft types.

Expert Technician

This is the name of the position of a specialist who makes an examination of various equipment. But most often we are talking about the study of cars and the equipment installed on them. Good professionals can work not only in software development firms, but also in many other organizations - after all, software is needed almost everywhere.

Technician-constructor

The name directly says that this employee is mainly employed in the production area. He has to design devices of medium complexity for production in small and medium series. Most often, direct reporting to the general designer is envisaged, with additional reporting to directors of organizations and chief engineers. The key professional knowledge is mastering the Unified System for Design Documentation.

The specialist is obliged to correctly secure the cargo and make sure that this fastening is not violated until the end of the flight. Finally, he also needs to monitor compliance with safety regulations.
