Having decided to fill out a resume for the purpose of employment, you will certainly come across the "Education" section. This is one of the required sections, information in which must fully correspond to reality.

The information in this section is taken only from educational documents and is entered in strict accordance with them. The years of study, the name of the educational institution, faculty and specialty must completely coincide with what is contained in the diploma. This means that the resume should be filled out accurately and correctly, without any exaggeration or changes in information.

What is a Faculty?

An administrative division of a higher or specialized secondary educational institution is called a faculty. Representatives of two or more specialties can study at the faculty. The structure of individual faculties may include two or three departments, and sometimes a separate institute may form and be administratively separated within the faculty, for example, a legal institute within the university teaches and issues diplomas of the university sample, however, it is itself an administrative unit.

A department is a part of the structure of a faculty, its independent subdivision. The departments carry out scientific work and training of students within the framework of the chosen specialization. For example, the Department of Criminology in Legal or Chinese in the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

A specialty is a certain amount of skills and knowledge acquired by a student during the learning process. Unlike the department, the student's specialty is indicated in the diploma confirming the end of the educational process. Information about the acquired qualifications is also included in the diploma.

How to specify in the resume?

Often a person has a question - how to correctly indicate the faculty and specialty if he is applying for a position, for example, an accountant? Indeed, very often graduates of the Faculty of Economics of the University have specialties of auditor, manager, manager, accountant, and economist. And all this is within the same faculty.

There should be no doubt - the faculty and specialty should be indicated as reflected in the diploma.

If a person does not have a higher education, he indicates in the appropriate section information about the completed secondary specialized educational institution - the name, years of study, faculty, if any, and specialty in accordance with the diploma.

As for incomplete education, if there is no diploma of incomplete higher education on the official letterhead with a series and number, then it is not necessary to indicate all educational institutions in which a person has ever studied, but did not complete his studies. An exception is training, which is ongoing at the time of writing the resume. It indicates the name of the university, the year of the beginning of training and the specialty that a person acquires. You can specify the course of study. If a person is expelled from the university, you should not write that he is studying there, because this information can also be easily verified.

If a person does not have a higher or specialized secondary education, respectively, there can be no question of a faculty or department of education. Then you need to indicate the courses that the person completed, for example, a permanent make-up master, a fitness instructor, etc. In addition to the names of the courses, it is necessary to indicate which document was issued at the end of the completion - a diploma, certificate, etc.

A driver's license is a document that is indicated in the "Education" column only for persons applying for the position of a driver of various categories and vehicles. For applicants for other positions, this information is indicated in the "Additional Information" section.

Writing tips

The resume should be as restrained as possible (no more than two A4 pages), while not devoid of individuality, so that when reading it you can understand what kind of person its author is. Writing such a document is not an easy task, which is why it will take a certain amount of time to create it.

It is necessary to clearly think over all the wording that is used. If a candidate does not have any of the qualities or experience necessary to take the desired position, you should not come up with too much. Any falsehood added to a resume can be verified very easily, so you shouldn't put yourself in an uncomfortable position and waste time from the employer. It is better to write about how quickly he learns, knows how to work with a large amount of information, about the courses he graduated from.

The more truthful and accurate the information is in the resume, the higher the likelihood of finding exactly the job that suits the candidate.

Be sure to add a photo. The attitude towards the applicant depends on its quality and style. There is no need to take a photo for documents, as well as a full-length photo - it will be impossible to see faces on it. Photos with blown out, "red" eyes, blurry, dark are undesirable.

Business style photography is the best option, no matter what position the applicant is applying for. Desirable white background, studio light, neat hairstyle, discreet makeup (for women). A light smile and a half-turn pose will look more advantageous than a straightforward full face and a serious face.
