Almost every one of us loves to eat well. And often the taste of a dish depends not only on the recipe and the ingredients it consists of. Often this is also influenced by the cooking method. Relatively new can be called the use of a special frying pan, which is called grill gas. It appeared not so long ago, but has already become popular among those who love to cook food on the grill. Thanks to her, you can get delicious food, like on a fire, without leaving your home.

Peculiarities

This cookware is intended only for use on gas type ranges. The reason for this is its structure. If you give a description, then outwardly it looks like an ordinary frying pan, but unlike it, the model in question has a hole in the center of the pan. When it is placed on the stove, the gas burner is inside. Also, the pan has a recess where liquid and fat flow down during cooking. The grill grate is placed on the pallet. Such a frying pan, like the usual variety, also has a lid. This is a general model that can have various modifications depending on its cost. More expensive solutions usually contain several grates in the set: regular, for baking, and so on.

Principle of operation

This device is somewhat reminiscent of such a unit as an airfryer. Both are based on the convection principle of hot air masses, that is, hot air currents, heating up from the gas, rise and, passing through the grill grate, under the lid change direction to the opposite. And the products located between the tray and the lid are processed at high temperatures. It is important that here steam does not accumulate inside, as it happens in ordinary pans, but passes through special holes located on the sides. This allows for carcinogen-free cooking. But more on that below.

Advantages and disadvantages

If we talk about the advantages of such pans, then the main thing will be that the products are fried here without the use of oil, because cooking is carried out not using a hot surface, but using streams of hot air.

If heat treatment of some fatty product is required, then the fat gently flows into the container designated for this.

A frying pan of the described type can be used for cooking various products: meat, fish and vegetables. In this case, you can not only fry, but also bake in foil, as well as bake various dishes, that is, it is universal. In addition, this method of cooking allows you to preserve all the useful substances in it and will guarantee the absence of various kinds of carcinogens, as mentioned above.

Such a frying pan provides opportunities for the preparation of various dietary meals.

Using the convection method allows you to reduce the cooking time compared to traditional frying. In addition, it is very easy to cook food with such a frying pan. And it is quite simple to wash its various elements and parts. By the way, this can be done even in the dishwasher thanks to the use of a durable coating.

If we talk about the disadvantages, then it should be mentioned that it is suitable exclusively for gas stoves. If the lid and the tray are easy to clean, then it is rather difficult to clean the grease from the grate. Also, the fair sex may not be very comfortable to use such a frying pan due to the fact that its weight is about one and a half kilograms. Still, the grill gas pan cannot be called compact with its dimensions of 31 by 20 centimeters.

In general, as you can see, such a frying pan still has more advantages than disadvantages.

Views

Note that grill gas pans can be made of various materials. Most often they are made of steel. It is usually of 2 types:

  • carbonaceous;
  • stainless.

    But the cover of the lid and the pallet may differ. Today there are models with marble coating, enamel, ceramic, non-stick and so on. All of them are usually supplied with a stainless steel grate. The coating of these elements will not affect the quality of food preparation, but it may well affect the convenience.

    It is worth talking about coatings in more detail.

    • Stainless steel. It is as safe as possible and does not emit any harmful substances when heated. It has excellent performance characteristics, because it is not subject to corrosive effects.
    • Enamelled. Excellent resistance to high temperatures and very poor mechanical resistance. The use of enamel does not cause any harm to health at all. If the enamel is two-layer, then this means that the pan has thickened walls and will have a large mass.
    • Ceramic. One of the most environmentally friendly, because it consists of natural ingredients. Does not contain polymers. It serves for a long time, is not afraid of mechanical stress and can withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees.
    • Marble. It is a non-stick coating made of granite chips, consisting of two layers. It got its name because it looks like marble. The coating is completely safe for health. It has high strength and excellent heat transfer. True, it is relatively easy to scratch.
    • Non-stick. Safe to use, easy to clean. Not too resistant to mechanical damage.

      Also, grill-gas pans with a hole in the middle for fire may differ from each other in the type of lid. For example, there are lids with an all-metal bottom, with glass inserts, and also completely made of glass. If we talk about metal, then the inside should have a good non-stick coating.

      Lids with glass inserts look great and allow you to visually control the preparation of dishes without removing it.

      Model overview

      These pans are easy to find on the market today. Most often they are represented by various models that are produced under the brand name "Miracle"... More specifically, the first one I want to talk about has the name D-506... It is made of carbon steel and covered with a couple of layers of enamel. In addition, there is a stainless steel grill. The lid diameter is 76 mm, the pallet height is 45 mm, and the working surface diameter is 330 mm. Its advantages:

      • cheapness;
      • easy to clean with various detergents;
      • dishwasher safe;
      • the set includes a book with three dozen recipes.

        Among the disadvantages are the following:

        • if it is empty, then you cannot overheat it;
        • it should be protected from mechanical stress.

        The next model is D-518... It is an enamel frying pan that has a single layer of marble chips. Its surface diameter is 330 mm. The advantages of this solution are:

        • the ability to keep warm for a long time;
        • shiny appearance;
        • not afraid of exposure to chemicals.

        The disadvantage is that it is better not to use abrasive powders when washing it.

        Another model that needs to be talked about a little is - D-522... This option also has an enamel finish with marble chips. Difference from model D-518 consists in the fact that its diameter is not 330, but 320 mm. The advantage is the ability to withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees, and the disadvantage is the weight of a little less than 2 kg.

        The frying pan, which also deserves attention, has an index D-512... It is characterized by an enamelled finish with an interesting appearance - a red lid with a glass top. There are also a couple of ceramic-coated perforated inserts:

        • for grilling;
        • for baking.

        The material for the body is carbon steel. The lid is made of aluminum and heat-resistant glass. Also in the model there is a hole for the burner, similar to a funnel with additional slots in a circle.

        Model with index D-516 is a gas grill pan with a diameter of 32 cm. This variety is made of carbon steel and has a non-stick marble-based coating. The pan also comes with a grill grid.

        Quite popular is and model D-520... It is made of stainless steel and has a non-stick coating. There is a transparent insert in the center, which makes food preparation much easier. The pan has a diameter of 330 mm.

        A feature of this model is the presence of a removable handle.

        Model D-519 is made of stainless steel and is similar to the one described above, but it does not come with a non-stick coating.

        The latest model of such a frying pan, which should be mentioned, has an index D-540... It has a two-layer coating and a stainless steel grill. It is very convenient to use for cooking a variety of dishes. The pan diameter here is 320 mm and the hole for the hob is 100 mm.

        As you can see, the range of such pans on the market is quite large. This means that everyone can find a good solution for themselves that will satisfy their culinary interests as much as possible.

        How to choose?

        It should be understood that all models have the same design, and in general, the difference will only be in some little things. In terms of parameters, the various models also do not differ too much from each other. Therefore, it would be best to pay attention to the material of manufacture, as well as possible design features.

        The cheapest types are made of steel and have an enamel finish. Aluminum solutions are also inexpensive. Models made of stainless steel will be more expensive, but in terms of operational points they are inferior to pans made of ceramics.The presence of a transparent cover will not be superfluous.

        It is also good if the kit comes with a roasting grate, which should have a non-stick ceramic coating.

        It should also be said that the quality of domestic models is not much inferior to imported ones. For this reason, it makes little sense to overpay for imported products.

        If reviews are an important factor for you when choosing, then we note that most people who used the grill gas pan for cooking were completely satisfied with it.

        But it will not be superfluous to pay attention to a number of important points, regardless of which model you choose.

        • Maximum heating temperature. During the cooking process, the grill gas pan heats up to 250 degrees or more. It would be better to buy models with a heating limit of 400 degrees or more.
        • Bottom diameter. You should not buy pans that are too large - 320–330 mm will suffice. Otherwise, on the simplest burner, the pan simply will not heat up to the desired temperature.
        • Wall and bottom thickness. Usually they are made in a thickness of about 6-7 mm. You cannot do less, since the pallet will simply burn out due to the high temperature. If there is a lid and it is used as an independent cookware, then the thickness should be at least 4 mm.
        • The shape and size of the hole for the hotplate. It should be as small as possible. For cooking on a medium-sized burner, a diameter of about 1 cm is required. It will be better if it is not straight, but rather conical. Then the fire will heat up the air masses more evenly and faster.

        In general, we note that the main points of choosing a good and high-quality grill-gas frying pan are: the required thickness, excellent metal and high-quality coating.

        Instructions for use

        As it already became clear, the grill gas pan is used for cooking various dishes, including meat and vegetables. But it can easily be used to heat other foods as well. It will not be superfluous to consider the cooking process step by step.

        • It should be installed on a special stand or grate if an old gas stove is used. First, a pallet is placed on it so that the fire from the burner is covered with a hole at the bottom of the pallet. It is best to use either the smallest or slightly larger burner.
        • Now pour about one and a half glasses of water into the pan. This is to prevent the food from becoming too dry during cooking. If you need to cook the dish more crisp, then it is allowed to use foil. It is simply placed on a pallet. It can also be used for baking food.
        • After that, cooking is carried out as in a simple frying pan. From the very beginning of use, it is better to regularly check the process to determine the most optimal temperature regime and the degree of burning of the burner.

        After cooking, wash the pan. Note that you can do this not only in the dishwasher, but also manually. Usually a minor mechanical effect on the coating will not adversely affect it in any way.
