There is a special style that is characterized by pretentiousness and pomp - baroque. Once born, this style is present in every new collection of famous designers.

History

The Baroque style in the images of beautiful ladies was necessarily associated with richly embroidered corsets, puffy skirts, sometimes elongated.

There was some theatricality in the female images, the silhouettes in all ways approached the shape of an hourglass.

Lush red baroque dress

Historic baroque dresses of brocade and silk were decorated with gold or silver embroidery, which was dominated by intricate curls and floral motifs. The crinoline or rings added splendor.

The colors were necessarily chosen saturated, so that against their background gold and silver embroidery would look especially expressive and rich.

The predominant colors were burgundy and emerald, gold and mother-of-pearl, purple and brown.

The skin of the face was carefully whitened, the lips were given expression and brightness, blush was applied and flies (artificial moles) were created. Women made tall hairstyles with curls from their hair.

Modern models

The modern manifestation of this style is not so pompous and pretentious. It is enough to use just one element or characteristic to create a royal and harmoniously folded image.

Modern baroque dress

Baroque dresses are no longer those bulky, uncomfortable designs with layered skirts. Now the image can be formed from a lush short skirt, which will be richly decorated with lace, bows and embroidery elements.

Another good option is a balloon dress combined with a wide belt decorated with stones.

Baroque style involves the use of:

  • draperies;
  • decor in the form of beads and stones;
  • bows and ribbons;
  • ruffles and lace.

But the clearest signs of a dress belonging to this style are intricate gold and silver appliqués.

A dress in this style cannot be too pretentious, since the baroque does not even imply the existence of this concept.

Baroque dress with stones

Not only embroidered ornaments give a rich look to the dress. Floral or geometric prints have been popular for several seasons. Here we can consider not only the options we are used to, but also the most unusual manifestations of colors, for example, leopard print.

More recently, a new fashionable direction has appeared, which is directly related to the baroque. Crafted from airy fabrics, lightweight dresses display artwork from the era when the Baroque style was born.

A slim strap adds the finishing touch to a trendy look.

In addition to classic colors, modern designers offer interesting variations. Now embroidery or appliqués are placed on all kinds of colors.

Evening

Evening dresses impress with a variety of silhouettes. Lush, straight, symmetrical, mermaid-style models made of velvet, silk and brocade are mainly embroidered with gold thread and stones, using lace applique, characteristic of Renaissance clothing.

The designers did not forget about the basque - a fashionable element of that time.

Wedding

A baroque bridal dress should have lush and even pretentious shapes of incredible width, consist of heavy fabrics (thick velvet or rustling satin, brocade), covered with embroidery from gold and silver threads. Everything should match the luxurious and sophisticated image.

Special attention is paid to the corset, as always: decorative lacing and precious stones are indispensable elements.

A train and a decorated back add pomp to a baroque wedding dress.

Baroque open back dress

The bride must present herself like an empress. All her gestures, demeanor and ability to keep herself in society should be at their best.

Do not think that such a rich and pretentious dress is self-sufficient and does not need jewelry. Also as needed. And not with any jewelry, but exquisite and natural.

On every day

In everyday looks, there may be elements of the baroque, which should subtly attract attention and carry a touch of vintage. It is permissible to choose dresses with fluffy skirts with special colors and a simple top.

The bottom and top of the same outfit must balance each other - this is a must-have rule for forming a baroque look.

Casual baroque dress

As for the styles, you can focus on straight options or A-line midi length. A year-old skirt is also a good option for a casual baroque dress. The predominant colors are black, dark blue, red and deep green.

A semicircle neckline or V-neckline are the main options that will look decent in such dresses. Vintage ornaments or ruffles are also must-haves, even for a casual dress.

Do not forget about the rules according to which colors are selected. Contrasts can also create a winning look. One of the colors should be duplicated in additional elements of the image.

The office style can have baroque elements and at the same time look strict, restrained and rich. A strict straight dress with gold or silver decor is suitable for this.

The modern baroque style is represented by a large selection of loose dresses, painted in bright patterns. You can even choose a simple dress, but if you combine it with a jacket or cardigan in the Baroque style, then your image will look expensive, sophisticated and restrained.

What to wear with

If it's cool outside, then you can wear a short jacket or blazer with the dress. For the fall, it is worth getting a cashmere coat, which will be made in the same color scheme as the dress.

For an evening look, it makes sense to choose a lace veil, long gloves, and a fur cape.

Cape for a baroque dress

For a casual dress, you can choose lightweight scarves with printed elements. If the dress does not look catchy enough, then bright belts will help to save the situation.

Casual look in a baroque dress

Accessories must be bright, extraordinary and luxurious, to match the chosen dress. It is permissible to choose massive jewelry with precious stones. But the handbag can be small. Shoes with embroidered elements, with heels, suede, with lacing are welcome.

Everyday looks do not require expressive jewelry, just as pretentious shoes will be superfluous. But the classics and simplicity will allow you to form a good and appropriate image for any occasion.

It is not necessary to build towers and twist curls on your head, but jewelry can be woven into your hair.

Baroque hairstyle

Do you want to look like a queen not only today, but every day? Choose dresses for yourself that have at least one baroque element. Wear such dresses not only for special occasions, but also in everyday life.
