If, for some reason, the owner does not like the tattoo, there is an opportunity to correct it. You can fix the tattoo in the salon at the master. In this case, different methods can be used. And in order to determine which of them is more suitable in a particular case, you need to find out the nature of the resulting defect.

What it is?

Tattoo correction is a procedure aimed at eliminating existing defects. It can be carried out some time after the creation of the tattoo. The essence of this procedure is that the master (the creator of the original image or a completely different specialist), using the tool, makes some adjustments.

It is noteworthy that the tattoo can be corrected both after a few days and several years after its application (restoration).

What is it for?

Tattoo correction is done for a variety of reasons. However, a number of main ones can be distinguished.

  • If a person turned to a master with insufficient professional skillsthen the tattoo can be transferred from the sketch to the skin with some mistakes. Sometimes, due to the wrong drawing, even the meaning and meaning of the tattoo changes. In addition, an inexperienced craftsman may choose the wrong needle, for some reason, it is bad to introduce the pigment. Low-quality equipment is often the reason for a low-quality tattoo.
  • In the process of creating a tattoo, a person may behave restlessly himself., for example, due to the experienced painful sensations. As a result of this, the contours of the pattern may turn out to be indistinct, vague.
  • Often it is necessary to correct tattoos made in the 90s. At that time, ink quality was poor. And also good equipment was not available to all craftsmen. That is why the tattoos of that period have fuzzy outlines. To make such a tattoo look neat, many have to go to the salon to fix it.
  • The peculiarities of the anatomical structure of the skin lead to an uneven distribution of the coloring pigment. In this case, an adjustment will also be required.
  • The tattoo has ceased to please its owner or has lost its relevance.
  • Renewal of the pattern due to age-related changes in the skin.

Before the adjustment procedure, it is necessary to consult with the master who will perform the work. Possible corrections should be discussed with him, recommendations for preparation for the procedure should be obtained.

Description of the procedure

The procedure for correcting the body pattern is performed using professional tattoo equipment. But the correction process itself directly depends on the reason for the correction.

If the tattoo was originally made with mistakes, then the master in the process of work uses the technique of overlaying a pattern. At the same time, new ones are created along the lines of the old drawing. When a new tattoo is applied, but the contours of the image remain indistinct, adjustments can be made in about 3-4 weeks, when the skin heals.

If for some reason the tattoo is bored or the drawing has simply lost its relevance, then it can be corrected by performing the laser polishing procedure. Any correction occurs only after the tattoo has been examined by the master.

When can you do it?

Correction of a tattoo can be done both in a few days (weeks) after creation, and in a few years and even decades. In the first case, tattoo correction is a necessity that is required to make the image more attractive. At the same time, the need to make adjustments after a few days does not always arise. So, if a person has good physical and psychological health, eats well, devotes enough time to rest, then the pigment under the skin will settle evenly and clearly. Under these circumstances, the tattoo will not need to be corrected.

If the skin does not heal very well, then correction is still required. The fact is that creating a tattoo is stress for any organism, therefore, during the procedure, a person releases adrenaline, norepinephrine and cortisol. If hormones are secreted in large quantities, then they have a negative effect on pigmentation. After a while, you can reveal the blurred pattern or uneven tone. In this case, after a few days, a person can again visit the wizard, who will make the necessary changes. But this can be done only after complete healing of the skin.

Tattoo restoration is intended for those cases when its age exceeds 5 years. Thanks to this procedure, a person has the opportunity to correct mistakes that were previously made by the master, or completely change the drawing if it has lost its relevance.

Renewal of an old tattoo can be done:

  • if her age exceeds 5-10 years;
  • "floating" contours are observed;
  • the image has lost its relevance.

If the tattoo is more than 15-20 years old, correction is also possible. But in this case, the master will have to devote a little more time to the work. Experienced craftsmen recommend contacting the salon every 3 years to inspect the tattoo and make adjustments if necessary.

Restriction after adjustment

The main rule that should be observed after undergoing the tattoo correction procedure is to lubricate the skin with the recommended healing ointment for 2-3 weeks, and also try not to wash the tattooed area of the body too often and intensively.

There are other recommendations that require unconditional adherence to keep the tattoo in good condition:

  • within 10-14 days from the moment the tattoo was corrected, it is not recommended to consume strong alcoholic beverages, even in small quantities;
  • do not expose the treated skin area to direct sunlight, as pigmentation may "blur";
  • you should avoid getting the tattoo wet with hot water and exposure to intense mechanical stress on this area of the skin;
  • it is better not to touch the tattoo with your hands, not to comb the place of its application, not to be in unsanitary conditions.

In addition to the recommendations listed above, do not forget to periodically lubricate the skin area with the corrected tattoo with a special healing ointment (thin layer), and then wrap it with cling film (without much effort to make the hand comfortable). This dressing is changed at least 3-4 times a day. You must always remember: the skin at the site of the corrected tattoo should not dry out.

If you follow all the rules and recommendations, then a tattoo on any part of the body will always look neat and attractive.

It is strongly discouraged to try to edit the tattoo yourself, to use professional and non-professional tools without special skills and knowledge. Such actions will not only violate the integrity of the tattoo, but can also lead to health problems.
