At all times, fire has been a symbol of home and comfort for a person. But this is far from the only meaning, since there is also a mystical interpretation. In both directions, a certain attitude was formed towards the element of fire, which later began to be expressed in wearable images. Most often, the fire is presented in tandem with a candle. The flame may be on, or the candle may be out. Each image has its own interpretation.

The meaning of a tattoo

There are several options for sketches of a tattoo depicting a candle. They are interpreted in different ways.

  • If we talk about the connection with religion, in particular, with Christianity, then a lighted candle personifies a person's belonging to the divine spirit. At the same time, drops of wax are interpreted as the purity of the human soul, as well as his ability to repentance.
  • In Slavic mythology, a burning candle is associated precisely with the element of fire. It is believed that fire can have some magical effect on the fate of a person. And also a lighted candle is a symbol of human protection from the influence of evil spirits. The owner of such a tattoo expresses an opinion about the inconsistency of his being in front of the natural elements.
  • Traditionally in Judaism, candles are used in the menorah. A beautiful candlestick with seven coasters is usually associated with something divine.
  • In the Middle Ages, secret religious communities used a candle as a symbol of a person's illumination with insight and wisdom. A tattoo can symbolize a person's desire for secret knowledge, prophecies. This designation is quite common.

Sometimes a person fills himself with a tattoo in the form of a burning or extinguished candle in memory of some event in his life or of a deceased relative, close person.

Who is it for?

The candle tattoo is suitable for both men and women. But for each gender, it has a different meaning. If we talk about men, then there can be several meanings:

  • the struggle between good and evil;
  • a sign of grief in memory of some event in life (most often men in this case fill an extinguished candle with smoke);
  • a candle as a symbol of the transience of time, which is better spent on important matters and thoughts.

For a woman, a tattoo depicting a candle has a slightly different interpretation:

  • the presence of higher forces in life;
  • striving to cognize one's inner "I", the fire of a candle, as it were, illuminates the path to the secrets of the soul and body;
  • romance and subtlety of spiritual nature.

Male and female interpretations differ, although the sketches themselves may be identical.

Sketch options

There are many options for sketches. It is the candle that is used as the main element in the image. As additional details can be used:

  • flowers - for romantic and amorous natures;

  • watch as a symbol of the frailty of being;
  • a circle of light around the flame - getting rid of dark thoughts, the path to a brighter future;
  • drops of wax - remorse for past actions;
  • hand - the hand of a loved one, from whom the person expects or receives support.

At the same time, the fire itself can burn brightly, smolder or die out.

The presence of wind (symbol) or raindrops is possible.

Where to apply?

Most often, a candle tattoo is stuffed on the arm. The most popular area is the forearm.

And also the candle can be stuffed on the wrist, on the wrist, or even on the finger.

Often the tattoo is applied to the lower leg area. Men stuff such tattoos into the chest area (most often the left side, where the heart is located).

In principle, there is no prohibited place on the body where such a tattoo could be stuffed. This question is purely individual. If a candle is something intimate for a person, and he does not want to show it to others, then it is better to fill it in a place that is often hidden under clothes. If a tattoo with a candle is a symbol of self-expression, then there is no point in hiding it from others.

Beautiful examples

If a person has not yet decided on the choice of a sketch for a future tattoo, you can pay attention to beautiful examples.

Here is a variant of a tattoo on the arm. A candle with a burning flame, but there are tangled clouds of smoke at the top. This option is suitable for those who want to get a tattoo in memory of some event that left an imprint on their entire future destiny.

The photo shows an example of a tattoo that is more suitable for girls and women. Rose elements are used here as additional attributes. It is possible that the flower is the woman herself. And the sun's rays represent the road to the future.

A tattoo similar in image to the previous one. But this is more of a male version. Below is a rose representing a woman. A candle comes out of the rose with an illuminating flame. The interpretation can be as follows - a woman who appeared in a man's life changed his future for the better.

And here is an extinguished candle against a dark background. This may mean that some unpleasant period has ended in a person's life. Another interpretation is the memory of a departed person.

These are just examples, but they can be taken as a basis.

At the same time, it is logical if a person adds some of his own elements to the existing sketch. These can be letters, initials, numbers, and more.
