Knitwear never goes out of style, even if it's not on the top rungs of the pedestal. Comfortable practical knitted fabrics are worn by adults and children. Knitted fabric differs from other types of fabric by the peculiarity of the weaving of threads. If the fabric is based on a weave of longitudinal and transverse threads, then jersey is a knitted fabric. In the modern world, there are many types of knitwear, differing in composition, density and surface smoothness; kashkors is one of them.

Until the twentieth century, knitted fabric was used in the manufacture of things for the poor. With the onset of technical progress and the advent of new synthetic materials that improve the quality characteristics of natural fibers, the scope of knitwear has expanded. Now in the collection of every fashion designer there are things made of cotton non-woven fabric with lycra, viscose, lurex, for everyday wear or for a festive evening.

What kind of fabric is kashkorsa?

Kashkorse is a kind of French knitwear made with "English elastic". The main material for the manufacture of this type of knitwear is cotton. One hundred percent cotton can be used, or there can be various options with the addition of lycra, viscose and polyester. The quality of the linen depends on the quality of the cotton used to make the threads. Also, one of the differences is the "English elastic" pattern: uniform alternation over the entire width of the fabric of one front loop and one purl loop, or the ratio of loops is two to two, less often three to three.

Clothes made of kashkors are pleasant to the touch, stretch easily and fit the figure well. Due to the composition and weaving characteristics, the surface of the fabric is breathable, hygroscopic and non-irritating. In summer, it is not hot in products made of this type of fabric, but in the cold season it is warm. Modern manufacturing technologies have made this knitwear resistant to wear and tear, so things are durable and do not lose their shape.

Types and characteristics of kashkorse

There are several varieties of kashkorsa, differing in composition and use.

  • The most expensive kind is called "Peigne". This fabric is made of long-staple cotton threads with the addition of elastane in a ratio of 95: 5. High quality dense elastic material with a smooth surface, very soft to the touch, ideal for sewing children's clothes.
  • For a variety of kashkorse "Ring" take medium staple cotton, adding 5% lycra. The fabric turns out to be moderately dense, does not stretch well and does not shrink when washed. Things come out durable, pleasant to the body.
  • "Acrylic" is similar in description to "Ring", only more dense in structure. It is used for finishing the neckline, sleeves and bottom of products.
  • Open end, the cheapest of the Kashkorsa varieties, is made from short staple cotton with a 5% Lycra addition. The fabric is very dense, with light hairiness, suitable for the manufacture of outerwear.
  • 100% cotton kashkorse does not contain synthetic additives, so the fabric is less durable and slightly less elastic compared to other types. Thanks to its natural composition, it absorbs moisture well and does not irritate the skin, which makes it suitable for sewing underwear for adults and children.
  • Cloth with 30% polyester, dense and smooth, used for finishing outerwear.
  • Brushed cash register contains 95% cotton fiber and 5 percent lycra. A dense elastic fabric has a small fleece on the seamy side, which makes the fabric soft and warm. Garments made of fleece fabric are indispensable in winter frosts. They keep warm well, allowing the body to breathe.
  • Made of dense, wear-resistant fabric with the content of polyester and viscose in a ratio of 75: 22: 3, comfortable clothes for sports are sewn.

Sometimes kashkorse is confused with a riban knitted fabric similar in structure and composition. Despite the similarity, the kashkorsa differs from the ribana in the larger loops obtained when knitting the fabric. Ribana also has a looser fabric structure, which makes it a suitable fabric for underwear worn on the naked body and clothes for newborns.

What is sewn from kashkorsa

Depending on the density of the finished fabric and the width of the resulting scars, the fabric is used for the manufacture of various types of clothing: from underwear and children's clothes to outerwear and tracksuits. There are three types of material:

  • thin fabric, with a density of 150 g / m2 to 190 g / m2;
  • medium density canvas from 190g / m2 to 280g / m2;
  • dense fabric with a density of over 280 g / m2.

The thin material is a pure cotton kashkorse without the addition of synthetic thread. Such fabric can be used to sew underwear, clothes for newborns, those products where naturalness is of great importance.

Hats, scarves and hosiery are sewn from medium-weight fabric and brushed kashkors. The cloth for these things is made by the method of circular knitting with an elastic band 1 by 1 or 2 by 2 loops.

For sewing T-shirts, light dresses and children's clothes, thin linen and singing are best suited. To give a more elegant look to everyday things, openwork inserts are made from lace fabric.

For the manufacture of cuffs and strings for children's clothes, thin types of knitwear are used. Medium density material is used to trim the necklines, sleeves and bottom of the products, and cuffs and collars for jackets and sportswear are made from very dense knitwear.

Turtlenecks, sweaters, sweaters are sewn from kashkors of various densities. Things are soft, comfortable, beautiful and keep their shape for a long time.

From fabric with polyester and viscose, they sew a sports uniform, comfortable and light.

Caring for Kashkorse products

In order for comfortable and practical things to serve for a long time and not lose their appearance, knitwear needs special care. Products made from this linen are best washed by hand, but if this is not possible, you should choose a delicate wash program. Spinning should be done at low drum speeds or manually, without making great efforts so as not to deform the thing. Of the detergents, manufacturers recommend using gels for washing delicate fabrics, as the most gentle option, ensuring the safety of the knitted fabric, and conditioners to make them soft.
