Learning all about velboa fabric doesn't just mean figuring out what it is. It is necessary to familiarize yourself with the description of the fabric and its composition. You also need to understand the overview of the types of matter and their application.

What it is?

From the very beginning, it is worth pointing out that velboa is a purely artificial fur fabric. It is a very durable material that has both simple colors and patterned appearance, depending on the nuances of production. Velboa is considered a safe solution for young children. It is a very soft material. Especially fine polyester fibers are part of this fabric. Due to such a recipe, excellent tactile properties are guaranteed. Experts believe that Velboa was created in France in the middle of the 20th century to replace natural fur. And, judging by the description and reviews, this result has been fully achieved. Velboa quickly became popular with the public. The key to its success was affordability and practicality.

Like so many other things this matter is produced in the 21st century mainly in the PRC. Velboa textiles stretches wide... It has a really soft thick pile. This fabric is shiny, but the sheen is not as strong as other synthetic fibers. Polyester, although extremely thin, is also very strong. The fibers must be carefully sanded before use. Otherwise, it is impossible to achieve small diameters. The fabric itself can be woven on special machines used for pile materials. Typical density ranges from 0.15 to 0.3 kg per m2.

In addition to the unique weaving technique, special properties are ensured by meticulous combing, which allows you to achieve uniform density.

Sometimes an auxiliary reinforcement with a special film is practiced. The next steps are painting and drying. The original pattern is formed by cutting.Velboa is electrified, and stalls are noted. But these shortcomings are pretty much compensated for:

  • high elastic qualities;
  • softness;
  • the ability to achieve a difference in textures and colors;
  • low level of allergic properties;
  • attractive tactile qualities.

Velboa can have a pile length of 0.1-0.7 cm. There is also a smooth plush, in which the villi have approximately the same length. Embossed material implies a flattened or fixed in different directions design of the pile. The following types of velboa are also known:

  • printed (in which the pattern is formed on the basis of colored threads or applied to the prepared fabric);
  • shaped (very diverse in design techniques or combinations thereof);
  • figured (artificial fur, in which the pile simply alternates in length).

Application

Imitation plush is widely used. True, as an independent material in the production of outerwear for adult consumers. But textile products for newborns and small children based on velboa are very popular. We are talking not only about envelopes, but also about sleeping bags. Additionally worth mentioning:

  • furniture covers;
  • children's hats and suits;
  • various toys;
  • carnival clothes;
  • blankets, bedspreads and similar accessories;
  • warm lining for outerwear and winter clothes;
  • vests;
  • graceful rugs;
  • hats;
  • blouses.
