Flat models are a chic alternative to sneakers, as they provide more freedom to compose stylish looks. So, they can be worn with a business suit, even if your office has a strict dress code.

Nowadays, ballet flats and shoes with heels in the Greek style are in fashion - these are classic models of women's shoes, in which lacing is not a functional, but a decorative element that emphasizes your ankles and ankles. They look interesting on the leg, add zest to your look.

Models

Flat

There are several classic models of lace-up shoes. The most popular are oxfords, derbies and brogues. They are very similar to each other, but have slight differences.

Oxfords have lace trims sewn tightly into the base, and the laces are hidden under the tongue. In the derby, the planks are sewn on top, so they can be raised when you put them on.Brogues look different from Oxfords only in the presence of perforations and a toe in the shape of the letter W.

Heels

Pointed toe stiletto heels with lacing look non-trivial and stylish. They will be the perfect complement to any fashionable look, suitable even for an evening out and a strict office dress code.

If you want to look like a fashionable it-girl, wear them with trendy culottes or an extra-long sleeveless coat.

Ballet shoes

Lace-up models are a real hit of the last season, but they are still in vogue. These are neat, pointed-toe flat shoes that have gained particular popularity thanks to fashion bloggers.

The great advantage of these ballet flats is their versatility. They are suitable for creating basic everyday bows, business looks, they can be worn at evening informal events.

Espadrilles

Canvas flats are the perfect casual shoes for the summer. Lace-up models look especially interesting, there are models without a heel and on a small wedge heel. It's a kind of ethno shoe that goes best with casual clothing - plain cotton dresses, loose-fitting shorts, and ripped boyfriend jeans.

Beautiful ways of lacing

The easiest way to add some creativity to your oxfords or brogues is with unusual laces. There are tons of ways to lace up your shoes, but here are some interesting options.

European technology

Thread the laces into the bottom pair of holes, then insert one end on the opposite side, skipping one hole. Then pass it through the hole opposite and repeat the previous manipulation. In the end, you only need to tie the ends nicely with a bow. This lacing method is suitable for shoes with 6 holes.

Rectangular technique

The "straight" lacing method can be used to lace up shoes with 3 holes and any other number of holes. You will not get intersecting, but straight lines that look very unusual.

Pull the laces into the first pair of holes, thread one end into the top hole, and then pull it through the hole opposite. Repeat the same manipulations with the second end until you reach the end.

"With one hand"

This method works well with 4-hole or 5-hole shoes. It is best to use wide laces or ribbons rather than classic thin laces. Thread the laces through the top pair of holes, tie a knot at one end, and pull it all the way so that it rests against the hole. Then lace up your shoes, threading the free end diagonally, and when you reach the end, pull it up under the laces.

You don't even have to tie your shoelaces in the future, you just need to properly tighten or loosen them using the free end.

What to wear with?

With a business suit

Oxfords or brogues will look great with a classic trouser or skirt business suit. If you want to wear a dress to work, it is better to combine it with high heels.

With jeans

Any lace-up shoes look great with light denim jeans. Better to give preference to boyfriends or tuck skinny so that the lacing is clearly visible.

With trousers

In this case, it is also better to give preference to trousers with a length of 7/8, but if this is a business image, models of a classic length will be more appropriate. In any case, the solution will be successful, since part of the lacing will be visible from under the leg.

With a skirt

With lace-up shoes, you can wear various models of skirts. With flat shoes, fluffy or flared knee-length skirts look great. High-heeled shoes are suitable for a pencil skirt, and ballet flats will complement a denim or leather mini-skirt.

It is better to skip the maxi skirt, as it will hide the lacing, and all the highlight of your shoe will be lost under its hem.

With a long dress or skirt

If you really want to combine such shoes with a maxi length, the item you choose should be made of a very light material that will flutter when you walk. If this is a skirt, you can choose a fairly open top for it, and if this is a dress, it can be on thin straps or with actual cutouts on the shoulders.

With a dress

With ballet flats or heeled shoes, a midi-length dress will look good. This is the perfect date solution, especially if you are opting for lace and pastel or powdery shades.
