Naturally thin hair can be revitalized and given volume using special care products. Consider the varieties and criteria for choosing the best drugs for curls of this type.

Features, advantages and disadvantages

Sparse and weakened hair needs so-called thickening agents, which would not make them heavier, but at the same time nourish, moisturize and contribute to the thickening effect.

The main feature of such preparations is the presence in the composition of a large number of natural extracts and vitamins. The optimal result is achieved with the complex application of the same brand of care series.

Advantages:

  • ease and simplicity of use;
  • increase in volume;
  • saturation with vitamins and microelements;
  • strengthening hair follicles;
  • improvement in appearance.

Disadvantages:

  • weighting of the strands from the frequent use of certain varieties;
  • manifestation of "adaptive reaction" (irritation on the scalp, dandruff) when changing drugs;
  • in the choice of "own" means, an individual approach is needed, since there is no guarantee that the same brand will suit every owner of rare curls

Thin hair care products are different types of cosmetic products.

  • Shampoo. When choosing, you should give preference to products with a low pH level - they gently cleanse the hair, nourishing and restoring the structure.
  • Conditioner rinse. A product that acts on the top layer of the hair. Gives them silkiness and shine, making it easier to comb. It is applied after every shampoo and helps to dry hair faster.
  • Balm. It is divided into types: regular, tint, conditioner balm and conditioner balm.Softens dry and hard strands, protects against unwanted impurities from tap water and covers with a protective film that provides additional volume, but at the same time makes them heavier.

In addition to the basic ones, there are also additional care products.

  • Sealing spray. Promotes daily express care for weakened hair. Improves appearance, gives volume, helps to seal the structure and has an antistatic effect.
  • Lotion. Relatively new and the best way to add volume to fine hair. Solves several problems at once: cleans the scalp and curls, returns shine, maintains the brightness of the coloring and simplifies the styling process.
  • Masks. Restores damaged hair follicles. The presence of keratin and protein in the composition helps to give volume at the roots.
  • Oils. Natural ingredients strengthen hair, stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss.

The range of cosmetics for care is very large. By the presence of components, it is subdivided into several varieties.

  • Professional... The composition contains polymers and a complex of active ingredients that penetrate deep into the hair structure, reliably enveloping and protecting them. The funds are undergoing clinical trials and monitoring. Most often they are sold in beauty salons and specialized departments for hairdressing salons. They are distinguished by high prices.
  • Pharmacy... It is represented by a wide line of products that have safety certificates, indicating the absence of harmful additives. Has a healing effect. The purchase of such care products is possible only through pharmacy chains.
  • Regular... Relatively inexpensive products that can be easily purchased at any cosmetics department or supermarket. They vary in composition of substances and price range.

Selection Tips

Any series for hair care, including for weakened and thin, are presented in a wide range. When choosing products, you should pay special attention to the composition, which may differ in the presence of active ingredients, natural supplements and vitamins. The following components have a beneficial effect on damaged and rare curls:

  • keratin - contributes to the compaction of the hair structure without the effect of weighting;
  • proteins - have a beneficial effect on the hair follicle and even out the curls;
  • provitamin B5 - envelops the hair with a protective film, preventing their delamination and the appearance of split ends;
  • polymers - restore damaged hair;
  • collagen - increases elasticity, controls the level of moisture, reduces hair electrification,
  • natural plant extracts and oils - moisturize, nourish, eliminate dryness.

How to use?

Manufacturers supply all products with instructions for use. But it will not be superfluous to recall the basic rules for applying each product.

  • Shampoo. Evenly and abundantly wet the curls with warm water, cleansing them of styling preparations with smooth movements of the hands. It is undesirable to immediately apply shampoo, it is better to wait 5-10 minutes for moisture to penetrate into the depths of each hair. A small amount of shampoo is initially applied to the scalp with light massaging movements, and then the resulting foam is distributed along the entire length of the strands and gently washed off with water.

It is worth noting that it is not recommended to wash thin and weakened curls every day, 2-3 times a week is enough.

  • Air conditioning. It must be applied after shampooing along the entire length of the hair, stepping back 7-10 cm from the roots, and leave to be absorbed for 5-10 minutes. When applied directly to the roots, a generous rinse is required so that later the hairstyle does not look sloppy.
  • Balm. Apply after shampooing, once a week, avoiding contact with the scalp and root area. The holding time is from 3 to 10 minutes, after which the balm must be washed off.

Additional use of the conditioner when using the balm is no longer required, since it combines two functions - nutrition and ease of combing.

  • Spray... If the goal is to strengthen and facilitate combing, then the product is applied along the entire length of the wet strands, and then dried and styled in the preferred way. It can also be used on dry hair to improve the appearance of the hairstyle and remove the static effect.
  • Lotion. For fine hair, it is available as a spray. It can be sprayed right after shampooing to the full length before styling, and can also be used on dry hair.

A good volumetric effect is given by application to the roots, while the hairstyle keeps the volume for several days, and the curls do not look dirty (in contrast to the use of mousses and gels).

  • Masks. They are an intensive care product; it is enough to use them once a week, immediately after shampooing. Each manufacturer indicates its application time, depending on its components (usually from 1 to 15 minutes), after which it is necessary to rinse it off.
  • Oils... The use of burdock oil is effective. It is applied to the entire length of the hair and scalp, after which it is necessary to put on a plastic cap. Wash off after 20-30 minutes with warm water and shampoo. Apply once every 1-2 weeks.

The correct choice of products for the care of thin and weak hair will help maintain the required volume without weighing it down, while maintaining its beautiful and well-groomed appearance.
