Face painting is a great opportunity to create a festive mood. The image of a favorite character or animal will allow the child to join the fairy tale.

It is allowed to apply face painting only with specialized formulations for body art or decorative cosmetics that are safe for children's skin. It is prohibited to use gouache or watercolor intended for drawing on paper. These dyes can trigger an allergic reaction. It is strictly forbidden to use acrylic paints. They not only cause dryness and irritation of the skin, but can also cause burns of 1, 2 or 3 degrees.

For face painting, the following tools are usually used.

• Hypoallergenic decorative cosmetics: eyeliner, lip gloss and lipstick, powder, blush, bright mascara. Not all products are suitable for baby skin, such as anti-aging cosmetics.
• Water-based markers and markers. They are used to draw fine lines and small details, such as a cat's whiskers or tattoos.
• Face painting is a special paint for body art. It comes in the form of a dry palette or wax crayons, but always water-based. Some are labeled "+3" and "+6".
• Food colorings. They allow you to create face painting at home or dilute an additional color that is not in the palette. Safe, but don't hold up as well.

For frequent face painting and professional activities, it is better to choose special paints. For beginners, use wax crayons. They are easier to work with, but the color palette is limited as they cannot be mixed.

A dry palette is more interesting. It is enough to have just a few basic colors that can be combined to create new shades. It is more profitable to buy a palette as a whole than paint cans separately. The most popular brands are: Wolfe FX, Paradise, Kryolan, Eulenspiegel, Snazaroo, TAG.

To "activate" the paint, it must be sprinkled with water. This is best done with a brush. Pour some liquid into the center and make a depression with rotary movements. Leave the edges dry. If the paint is based on glycerin, then a little water will be required, if it is wax-based or neon color, then more.

Before applying face painting, you need to make sure that the child does not have an allergic reaction to the dye. To do this, a little paint needs to be distributed behind the ear. If redness and itching do not appear within 10 minutes, face painting can be applied. If the child is under 5 years old, it is better to avoid applying paint in the eyelid area, as he may forget and rub his eyes. And so as not to stain clothes, cover them with a sheet or hairdresser's peignoir.

If it is not possible to purchase a special palette, you can prepare the paint yourself.

For this you will need:

• food coloring (a few drops);
• baby cream (1 tsp);
• warm water (2 tbsp. l.);
• cornstarch (2 tsp).

Mix all ingredients until smooth. Add the pigment gradually, drop by drop, stirring constantly. This will allow you to achieve the desired brightness and not overdo it.

The consistency of the mixture should not drain from the brush, but also not be too thick. If necessary, dilute with water and add starch to thicken it. It's important to remember that food coloring can also cause allergies.

The drawing is applied with brushes. Make-up sponges are used to cover a large area of ​​skin. You can save and cut the soft sponge into pieces.

The minimum set consists of three brushes:

• large flat - allows you to apply a tone, create a gradient;
• medium round - the main working brush for drawing a picture;
• thin small - draws thin lines.

Different brushes can be used for more drawing possibilities. For example, a flat rounded flora model allows you to draw teardrops, and a double model allows you to draw petals and leaves. Different brush sizes give different line thicknesses.

It is better to use a clean and dry brush for shading, and wet baby wipes or cotton pads soaked in water to correct the pattern.

Synthetic ones are stiffer and can cause discomfort.

After work, all tools should be washed in warm soapy water and dried thoroughly. Store in a separate box.

Face painting is not such a harmless entertainment as it might seem at first glance. Even he has contraindications:

• children's age up to three years - the skin is especially sensitive during this period, besides, the child may not quite understand that it is impossible to rub the makeup;
• skin damage: scratches, pimples, rashes, etc.;
• tendency to allergies.

Often, children choose the image of an animal, wanting to appropriate its qualities. Preschoolers are encouraged to use a cuter option, even a cartoon one. For older children, you can add strict lines or aggressiveness, for example, fangs.

There are two options for makeup. In the first, the snake's head is drawn on the forehead, and the tail descends from the side (along the temple, cheek to chin). In the second option, the head is drawn on the lips to create the effect that the snake is opening its mouth.

First, an oval head is drawn in green in the forehead or mouth area. Then the body is drawn. The abdomen is drawn with a lighter shade or yellow. As soon as the paint has dried a little, paint the eyes, nose holes, tongue, pattern on the body (stripes or spots) with a thin brush.

Similarly, you can draw a dinosaur or dragon. Alternatively, the creatures open their mouths around the eye, as if biting it.

Shark drawings are quite aggressive and are more suitable for boys. The most popular options are where the shark's mouth is drawn on the lips to create animation, or the mouth is open around the eye.

First, a silhouette is drawn with a thin brush or marker, depending on the selected story. Then, with a medium brush, it is painted over with blue, and the abdomen with white. The contour and small details are drawn in black, sharp triangular teeth in white. You can outline the borders of the mouth with scarlet paint.

Apply white paint with a sponge above the eyebrows up and slightly to the side, as well as in the area above the upper lip, or on the chin, where the tiger's face will be. Paint over the rest of the space with orange paint. On the edges of the face, the shade can be made more saturated.

Next, draw the stripes with black paint. On the edge of the face are thicker and tapering towards the nose. Finally, draw the nose and fangs.

Usually, the dolphin is not painted on the whole face, but as a separate figure. Placed on the forehead or cheeks.

First, the body is drawn in the form of a large comma. Then the head and tail are drawn. Along the edges, you can draw with a darker shade to add volume to the picture. Then complement it with a black outline and small details.

You can decorate face painting with the image of waves of white or silver color. Similarly, according to this scheme, you can draw a fish.

The frog can be all over the face or around the mouth. In the first case, draw a contour and distribute the main tone of green with a sponge. Make the area around the eyes lighter or yellow. Draw the outlines with black paint using a thin brush.

In the second case, the upper part of the frog's head is drawn above the upper lip. From the lower lip - the rest of the body. This creates the effect that the frog opens its mouth. You can draw a fly or a mosquito nearby.

First, white paint is applied with a sponge. The panda's muzzle can be all over the face or occupy only the upper part of it. Then with black paint with a medium brush, circles are drawn around the eyes. Next, the nose is drawn, the lips are painted over. With a thin brush, draw ears or an imitation of wool along the contour.

The cartoon "Cute Pony" is extremely popular with little girls. Having decided on the favorite character, the head is drawn over the eyebrow, then the tail. The skin around the eye is made in the form of stars or flowers in the character's scale.

First, the outline of Among Asa is drawn with a brush in yellow paint. Shadows are added with orange paint, an oval is drawn with blue, a contour with a black brush. You can add an image of waves.

With black paint, use a sponge to paint over the area around the eyes. Then with a medium round brush with the same color, paint the wings of a bat, paint over the voids. The wings can be slightly asymmetrical. Draw the ears and head of the Batman, or do without it. Draw the outline with white paint using a thin brush.

The principle of creation is the same as that of Batman. First, red paint is applied with a sponge in the eye area, then the outline is drawn with a brush. At the end, draw circles with black paint.

Another makeup option for boys.Using a sponge, apply a tone to the entire face with green paint, black - draw eyebrows, bangs, facial features, white - large teeth around the mouth.

Above the eyebrows, the outline of the future drawing is made using a sponge. Then flowers and patterns are drawn with a thin brush. You can add sequins and rhinestones. Apply pink gloss to the lips.

Apply white paint around the eyes with a sponge, in the area of ​​the nasolabial folds and chin - beige or leave it as it is, make the rest of the face blue. Draw in black the outline, ears and nose.

Insects do not evoke the most pleasant associations. Boys may be interested in them, so you can choose a scorpion, a spider or a centipede. Girls prefer more cute images: a butterfly, a ladybug or a bee.

Insects with wings can be drawn symmetrically. On the cheeks or eyebrows around the eyes are wings, and on the bridge of the nose - the body of an insect. Fine details and patterns are drawn with a thin brush.

It is better to draw the rest of the insects in a separate image in the temple or cheek area. If the body is elongated, for example, like that of a scolopendra or a scorpion, then the image can be stretched.

Various patterns will be the easiest for beginners to work with. To do this, various lines and spirals of all shades are symmetrically drawn; rhinestones and glitter for the body can be used.

Floral motifs and rainbows are a success. The latter can be painted with a wide brush or sponge. Apply rainbow-colored stripes to the tool in advance, then draw a semicircle in the temple or eyebrow area in one motion. Add clouds or patterns.

Face painting is easily washed off with plain water. You can use baby soap.

If the dye sticks to the skin, use makeup removers or facial wipes.

It so happens that the dye is so ingrained into the skin that it does not wash off the first time. Do not rub it again as it can cause irritation. It is better to repeat the washing procedure with cleansers in the morning.
