Beret was and will always be in fashion. This headpiece gives the image a special, French chic and elegance. It can be worn at any time of the year. The main thing is to choose the right material from which it is made, and the style that matches the clothes and the season.

In recent years, summer berets have gained particular popularity.

Variety of models

Various technological features of manufacturing make it possible to choose exactly the model that will make your image unique. Berets can be knitted from yarn, sewn from fabric, or felted from wool.

For summer options, it is better to choose material made from natural cotton, linen, viscose.

Berets made of thin light or even white wool can also be worn in summer, but in cooler weather.

  • Cloth berets can be very different in structure and style, the ways of creating the cut of parts are endless. But it should be noted that they are difficult to fit, unless you use some kind of drawstrings, ties, fasteners or buckles. But on the other hand, the choice of material is huge: it can be thin chintz, and linen, and dense teak or crepe, monochromatic, in a flower, with some exquisite ornament.
  • The most classic are felted berets... It uses high quality wool such as merino, alpaca, cashmere. Summer options are possible in a very thin design, better than light shades.

Such products are mostly handmade and therefore of a higher price category.

  • Most common knitted berets... They can be crocheted, knitted, or even simply woven by hand.Women's openwork, mesh, with fashionable now "pineapples" or exquisite Irish lace, such knitted things are suitable for an adult woman, and for a little girl, and will serve as a good protection on a hot summer day.

It is better to choose yarn for summer hats from natural fibers: cotton, linen, hemp or natural silk.

A beret may also be present in a summer men's wardrobe. Initially, this type of headdress was intended for men. Consider the Basque berets worn by peasants under the scorching Spanish sun. Or military hats that have entered the military uniforms of many armed forces. The male model will probably be of a simpler form like a cap.

Only a cap is with a visor, and a beret is without it.

Well, in the color scheme, men often adhere to calmer shades, but this is all a matter of taste.

How to put it on?

It is generally accepted that berets are not worn directly on the head, but slightly sideways. But this is, of course, an inconclusive attitude. The beret should be worn in such a way that it is comfortable and beautiful, well, and slightly flirtatious, because it is still a slightly special type of headdress.

Considering that this is a summer option, you do not need to pull it tightly over your ears and completely cover your hair.

Long hair in the heat is better to braid in a one-sided braid, and move the beret at an angle on the other side.

If there is a bang, then it is better to move the beret to the back of the head. This method will also be useful if your hair is long and loose. Or, conversely, if you make a small bundle low on the back of the head, then push the headdress a little over the forehead at a slight angle.

There is another option - this is a beret, tied with a coarse mesh, which fits snugly around the entire head.

When choosing a style and model, you need to take into account the individual characteristics and facial features.

For girls with the correct oval face shape, any berets are suitable. For chubby ones, it is better to leave the hair loose and move the beret back a little, open the forehead. A narrow, elongated face can be visually corrected by pulling the beret slightly obliquely over the forehead, but not up to the eyebrows.

What to wear with?

The variety of models allows you to choose the right style for any clothes in any style.

  • It is better to complement light, light summer dresses with an openwork beret made of fine yarn of the same light shades. The headpiece can be either voluminous or fit snugly to the head.
  • For jeans, a short skirt, or shorts with a T-shirt, go for voluminous knitted berets in a casual style.
  • In cool weather, when the wardrobe is complemented by a cardigan or jacket, the headdress is selected with a viscous of the same texture.
  • Long dark dress for an evening walk, you can complement with a red French beret.
  • A short one-colored dress will be combined with a classic version.
  • A piece made of unusual fabrics with rhinestones, sequins, mesh, feathers or a brooch is suitable for an evening festive dress.
  • A soft boho-style men's beret will look good with trousers and shirts made of cotton, denim and linen.
  • A military-style beret will suit khaki-colored clothes with patch pockets and a stand-up collar in combination with a massive belt and shoes.

Since we are talking about shoes, it should be noted:

  • classic elegant berets are combined with heeled shoes;
  • knitted, knitted, linen - more suitable for casual shoes with flat soles.

For berets, you can choose accessories that match in shape and style: sunglasses, earrings, bracelets, scarves.
