There is a widespread belief that classic and traditional styles of interior design in living rooms are preferable. But in fact, more modern design solutions are no worse. It makes sense to take a closer look at the original design of the apartment in the spirit of the high-tech direction.

Peculiarities

The interior of the living room in high-tech style is not done too often. Nevertheless, this style has lost its aura of novelty, and its typical coldness frightens off many people. Few people will like the absolutely man-made environment and “lack of soul”. To some extent, high-tech is used in any room in the modern world, because gadgets and advanced materials are already used everywhere.

To deal with the lack of appeal of the style, you can use refreshing, softening accents.

In terms of its parameters, hi-tech is close to minimalism. It is just as simple and concise. The use of additional parts, deviation from rigid geometric shapes is practically excluded. Saturation of the space with glass and steel surfaces is imperative. A competent design in this spirit contains a lot of metal and is distinguished by an extraordinary configuration. High-tech furniture is desirable from metal or glass. A more budgetary option is plastic constructions. If wooden elements are used, then only as a last resort. From technology are welcome:

  • TVs;

  • high class acoustic systems;
  • projectors;
  • large home theaters.

Color scheme

For high-tech halls, contrary to popular belief, not only white and black paints are recommended. Also very well suited:

  • burgundy;

  • dirty redhead;
  • Gray;
  • blue tones;
  • khaki;
  • metallic.

As you can see, even the choice of basic colors is quite large. But at the same time, an extremely strict approach is demonstrated to the colors. No more than one expressive, bright accent is allowed in the room. If there are more of them, the very essence of the concept will be destroyed.

In some places, shades of red may be used, but it is not recommended to focus on this disturbing color.

Finishing materials

Walls

Decorating walls in the spirit of high-tech is easy. The use of the slightest ornaments and almost any decorative elements is excluded. In most cases, the ultra-modern walls are painted white. But a gray and black base background can be just as good. Neutral and pale colors can be used as an additive. In most cases, high-tech style walls:

  • paint;
  • cover with monochrome wallpaper;
  • make out with plastic panels;
  • decorate with decorative plaster.

Ceilings

High-tech ceiling should:

  • have a strict and clear geometry;
  • be divided into several levels;
  • to be mounted with the initial preparation of points for hidden illumination.

In some cases, they do it very simply: they clean the original concrete floor from all layers. But such an open option is unnecessarily radical for many. Stretch ceilings are used much more often.

They allow you to implement a variety of lighting options and arrangement of individual levels. Metal canvases with a glossy sheen are ideally matched to the canons of style.

The choice between hanging and stretched canvases is in many ways a matter of taste. The possibilities of forming multilevel structures and working with volumes in both cases are equally great. Still, it is worth noting that the greatest demand is for tension-type products. It is much more practical than slatted ceilings and suspended armstrongs. Stretch canvases are decorated with multi-colored films, and if the ceiling is painted brightly, other high-tech living room decoration can be done in neutral colors.

Ceilings with futuristic patterns or abstract paintings can be used in this style. However, all other motives should not be applied. Experiments with shape and volume are quite acceptable (provided that the rigor is not violated). Professionals fix the canvases without gaps, so skirting boards are unlikely to be required. In the living room, it is advisable to use two-level ceilings, which will smooth out the rejection of decorative details.

Opening the backlight is not recommended. Hidden lights will do much better. Uniform and uniform illumination of the entire ceiling space is not at all necessary. The best option, according to experts, is the use of LED strips. An alternative solution is to play on contrasts.

The black and white bunk ceiling perfectly expresses the canons of hi-tech. But not only colors can contrast. It is worth thinking about experimenting with different textures. A very interesting choice is the use of white matte and dark glossy ceiling surfaces. But one must understand that such a step is justified only in spacious rooms, and in a limited space it is not perceived very elegantly.

Floor

High-tech furnishings are fundamentally incompatible with carpets decorated with traditional patterns. Parquet, natural and artificial stone will not fit into it either. The best choices are tiles of various types and synthetic linoleum. If you still choose carpets, then you should give preference to options with a single color or large pile. Other options worth mentioning:

  • Self-leveling floors;

  • porcelain stoneware;
  • coverings with a warm floor system.

Selection of furniture

Modular furniture products will ideally fit into the high-tech design - they are multifunctional and very comfortable.As in any other case, you need to try to create a sense of harmony and conciseness of the interior. The ultra-modern living room is furnished with items containing many compartments and open shelves. Of course, designs with strict geometric shapes and variations of gray color dominate.

High-tech furniture does not contain the traditional components that allow you to achieve comfort. However, it still helps to achieve comfort, albeit by non-classical means. Ultra-modern living rooms often feature computer desks that resemble office designs. The central place is occupied by a cabinet with a plasma or large LCD TV. Upholstered furniture (sofas and armchairs) are selected from models covered with leatherette. Most often they are low and have 2-3 shiny metal parts.

It is quite possible to use dining tables with glass top. Chairs of atypical shapes will be a logical addition to them. It is very good if these chairs are made of metal. The high-tech style will fully unfold if you put a wardrobe with a mirrored facade in the living room.

To play up the space, it is advised to use slide walls, while observing the contrast in colors and materials.

The boldness of the designers is manifested in the combination of matte and lacquered details. Slide walls in a modern living room should be painted in neutral colors. This color will immediately create the feeling of a calm and cold space. If the body walls do not suit you, you can purchase built-in ones, made according to personal sizes. The material is selected at your own discretion, however, preference should be given to designs with chrome handles.

A sofa in a high-tech living room can have a very simple design. But the chairs simply have to look futuristic. The upholstery is either fabric or plain leather. A very good choice turns out to be:

  • armchairs with backrest and armrest adjustment;

  • convertible sofas or sofas that retract into the wall;
  • coffee tables with the function of transformation into ordinary dining tables.

Lighting and decor

From decorative items in a high-tech setting perfect fit:

  • watch;
  • mirrors in silver frames;
  • canvases of abstract content;
  • light glossy panels.

In the high-tech interior, both square ceiling lamps and pendant chandeliers can be used. They can have the most varied, sometimes very bizarre geometric shapes. Elongated chandelier models will add charm and uniqueness to the overall composition. A large pendant lamp is appropriate for use where ceilings are located at a height of 3 m or more. A luminaire with a luminous intensity regulator is in keeping with the spirit of a high-tech interior; in addition, such a solution is very comfortable.

Lighting fixtures in a high-tech setting do not have to have even contours. Sometimes torn and uneven lines only improve the perception of the luminaires. You can even use products of an extraordinary shape if their appearance expresses futuristic motives.

As for individual decorative items, they should be used in strictly limited quantities and absolutely correspond to the spirit of the style.

Mirrors are most often chosen without frames. Artistic black and white photography works better than any painting. Indoor flowers, ruffles, clay and wood crafts are strictly unacceptable. Large panoramic windows are typical for high-tech style. There are several ways to beat them:

  • the use of curtains with a sophisticated, extraordinary pattern;
  • the use of curtains in neutral colors (against their background, the frame will stand out more);
  • light draperies made of partially transparent or opaque fabrics;
  • the use of roller blinds.

Beautiful examples

This photo shows how you can play with the contrast of black and white in an ultra-modern living room.The sharp and straight edges of the walls made up of clear blocks of partitions set off the smoothed corners of the upholstered furniture. The glossy stretch ceiling looks very attractive. The carefully selected laminate turned out to be no less beautiful. A rich dark curtain makes the space more interesting.

And here a completely different approach to the formation of an ultra-modern interior was chosen. The designers preferred to use a dark floor and a two-level ceiling with spotlights. Relatively low-rise furniture in light and dark colors looks very good. There are very few decorative items, but each of them is tastefully used. The split window also looks unusual.
