Few people can do a household without pots. Perhaps only strict adherents of restaurant food, who do not want to cook at home for various reasons, do not have this utensil. But modern popular culture has made chefs the stars of numerous TV shows: being able to "conjure" in the kitchen is now even fashionable and prestigious, and this requires a whole arsenal of dishes.

Passionate chefs and those who rarely stand at the stove should pay attention to the products of the Metrot brand from Serbia.

About the manufacturer

Metrot is the exclusive supplier to Russia and the CIS countries of the products of the large Metalac holding. Its head office and 12 modern enterprises are located in the small Serbian town of Horní Milanovac, 110 km from Belgrade. The plant traces its history back to 1959. It has been known to our consumers since Soviet times: crockery from Yugoslavia was a coveted scarce purchase. The main activities of the holding today are as follows:

  • enameled dishes;
  • stainless steel dishes;
  • aluminum cookware with non-stick coating;
  • kitchen sinks made of steel and composite materials;
  • production of storage water heaters.

In Russia, enameled pots and Metrot sets are best known and widespread. On the premises of the enterprise, a full cycle of production of such tableware is carried out: design creation, preparation and formation of the base, enameling, manufacture of accessories, painting and drawing, packaging.

A system of strict quality control and the availability of European certificates of environmental safety, a highly professional team, a huge experience accumulated over the years - all these factors make the products of the Serbian brand one of the market leaders.

Export is carried out not only to Russia, but also to Germany, England, Spain, USA, Australia.

Distinctive characteristics

Russian housewives have come to love the bright, varied designs of Metrot pots. If we talk about the enameled products of this company, then their differences from competitors are as follows:

  • the use of high-quality, innovative glass enamel (three-layer Ferro coating, developed in the Netherlands); each layer of enamel is fired at extreme temperatures, ensuring the heat resistance of the finished product, such a material makes the dishes durable, it does not change the taste of food, is resistant to food acids, does not cause allergies, and is easy to clean;
  • the carbon steel used for the base of pots heats up quickly and evenly, creating ideal conditions for cooking and stewing products for a long time;
  • all components are produced in Europe in accordance with strict environmental and hygienic standards, there are no harmful chemicals, products for sale on the Russian market have a document confirming compliance with the requirements of GOST;
  • the bottom of Metrot pots is perfectly flat, thick (from 3 mm or more), specially blackened, which increases the heating rate, and its composition allows you to use pots even on a finicky induction hob and in general on all types of stoves; on the bottom there is a mark with a corporate logo;
  • Metrot pots are dishwasher safe;
  • the company produces many bright designs and prints for every taste: laconic monophonic models with floral and fruit motifs, traditional polka dots, Provence-style decor and many others; about 10 new decals are added to the assortment every year (this is the name of the technology of drawing on enamel);

A big plus is the ability to purchase a whole set (up to 7 items of different sizes and shapes) in one design.

How to choose the right one?

Choosing a common household item like a saucepan can be a daunting task. In order for the dishes to become a decoration of the kitchen, the cooking process is comfortable, and the resulting dishes are safe, it is necessary to take into account such factors as:

  • all elements must be free of chips (if it is enamel), no scratches or abrasions;
  • pay attention to the tight fit of the pan lid: it should be quite heavy and lie without gaps and curvature; the pan itself should also be perfectly flat, without dents;
  • there are pots with welded handles and riveted handles; metal handles are strong and reliable, but will require the use of oven mitts, plus the fact that a pan with metal handles can be used in the oven; handles made of heat-resistant plastic (bakelite) are very convenient, do not heat up, do not slip, but there are restrictions on the use of dishes with bakelite elements in the oven, and on the stove you need to make sure that they do not fall into the open fire;
  • the lid can also be either metal or glass with a bakelite handle - glass is a little more difficult to clean, since dirt can accumulate along the stainless steel rim; the glass lid is heavier, and due to the transparency of the glass, you can visually track the boiling and cooking process, although the glass can fog up; a hole is often placed on the glass lid for venting steam, however, sometimes this design does not justify itself: the lid still has to be opened a little;
  • pay attention to the markings: on the packaging or on the dishes themselves there should be signs - for which stoves the product is suitable, is it permissible to wash it in the dishwasher and by what means, what maximum temperature loads it can withstand; certified products of well-known manufacturers are safe, so give preference to pots with the emblem of the International Quality System and Gosstandart of Russia.

Care advice

So that the enamel coating is not damaged and the pan does not lose its attractive appearance, you need to follow such simple operating rules as:

  • wash without using a metal abrasive brush and aggressive products with acids;
  • do not put a hot pan from the stove under cold water;
  • if the food is burnt, pour cool water and salt or baking soda (one tablespoon per liter) into the cooled saucepan and let it sit for about 2 hours;
  • do not heat empty dishes;
  • the diameter of the hotplate must not exceed the diameter of the pan.

Protect the pan from knocks.

Bestsellers

You will not want to hide a beautiful saucepan in kitchen cabinets; it can become a decoration and addition to the interior. Very popular series: Oliva, Polyana, Bouquet, Eden, Sakura, Lavender - a white or bright base and interesting compositions of flowers, fruits, birds are drawn in a very high quality and are pleasing to the eye.

The usual prints with bright lush roses are invariably successful in Russia, but the Metrot brand is striving to win a young consumer, as well as lovers of minimalist design, so the collection has a laconic and amazingly beautiful series "Shine", presented in two shades: powdery and lilac. The main color is complemented by a delicate shimmer.

Reviews

Reviews about the quality are contradictory: most buyers are quite durable and wear-resistant, the dishes please them for many years, but there are also negative assessments. Sometimes consumers, who have not carefully examined the dishes when buying, leave a saucepan with a small unnoticed chip, dent, or scratch.

All these subtle defects can increase during operation and render the product unusable. Most often, such troubles happen with online orders: the packers and the negligence of the delivery services are to blame.

The prices of the brand are quite affordable, although buying a large set can hit the wallet. Metrot cookware rightfully remains one of the most popular, despite the presence of a huge number of competitors: pots from other European manufacturers, from China and from domestic brands.
