Who among us doesn't love sports shoes? After all, she is so comfortable, comfortable, stylish and beautiful. But do we all know how to choose the right sneakers?

Choosing sneakers by type

Sneakers are divided by type and this circumstance should be taken into account when choosing them. It is necessary to clearly understand the scope of future sneakers, which will determine their type.

Gym sneakers can be versatile, but the presence of a rigid sole with a rubberized structure is a must. The heel should have a cavity filled with air for good cushioning. As for the tread, it may be shallow, but embossed. These shoes do not need to be high, but the use of mesh material is imperative as the leg needs to be ventilated.

Running shoes must be light, with a soft inner structure. With such shoes, the load on the body will be somewhat reduced. As in the previous version, running shoes should have hollow cushioning elements. It will be comfortable to run in sneakers with a thick but elastic sole. The heel of these shoes should be higher than the toe.

The low-rise running shoe uses mesh synthetics. The ribbed outsole will prevent the runner from falling.

For aerobics, shaping and fitness it is essential to have sports shoes made of flexible and lightweight materials. The ankle must be well secured to reduce the likelihood of injury.

A mesh upper and shallow tread are some of the basic requirements for a shaping shoe.

Parkour or tracing based on difficult and even dangerous techniques: jumping, spinning, somersaults, jerks, throws. To be successful and safe in parkour, you need to choose good footwear. First of all, you should pay attention to the depreciation, which should be of high quality. Many manufacturers put a special gel on the heel and forefoot of the sole, use springy thick-walled rubber and make the upper part of the heel firm, low elasticity.

Small spikes may be present on the tread. The upper of these sneakers can be made of leather or rubber, mesh materials are not suitable in this case, as they will cling and quickly deteriorate. When doing parkour, the greatest load falls on the toe. The best option would be sneakers with a rubberized toe.

For tennis special sneakers are also required. They are recognizable by their high heights that reach the ankle, medium weight, flexible soles in the toe area, fine tread pattern. You won't slip on the court with these shoes. Many tennis shoe manufacturers include a rubber cushion in the sole and a plastic insert in the heel. With this design, the sole is stiff and the foot is stable in its position. These sneakers are recognizable by the curved hard back. Most often, sneakers are made of genuine leather, but high-class synthetics are also acceptable.

Basketball shoes simply must have a rigid sole with the addition of rubber. Don't forget about the cushioning inserts. It is best to choose shoes with a herringbone protector, in this case, your feet will not slip on slippery parquet flooring. Only leather shoes should be considered.

Soccer shoes often called "centipedes", thorns must be present on their tread. The height of such shoes does not reach the ankles. If you choose between leather sneakers and synthetic ones, then the second option will be more appropriate, but only the material should be of very high quality. When choosing footwear for playing football, you need to choose the size very accurately. The discrepancy of at least a few millimeters will not allow you to fully feel the moment of contact of the leg with the ball.

Volleyball shoes Equipped with herringbone rubber outsole. Cushioning is also a must in such shoes, it can be gel or airy.

The mesh material, the foam on the upper, and the curved heel are all hallmarks of a good volleyball shoe.

For weightlifting it is necessary to have low sneakers with a hard and dense sole that will provide reliable support when lifting weights. In addition, the foot should be well fixed, so it is worth choosing leather shoes with elastic lacing. The tread pattern may be weak, but the presence of a heel lift is a prerequisite that will prevent the athlete from falling back.

Choosing sneakers by size

Sneakers, incorrectly selected in size, cause many problems not only with the foot, but also with the legs in general. To choose the right sneaker size, you need to follow a number of simple rules that were developed by Dr.Mark Kukuzell:

  • Runners often change the shape and size of their feet after six months of intense training. Therefore, you should not focus on the size that you had before.
  • To determine the size of the leg, it is necessary to take an upright position, measure the length of the foot and its width.
  • Even if you are used to wearing shoes from one brand, do not be lazy to try on models from other manufacturers. Perhaps sneakers from another brand are more suitable for the changed foot.
  • It is advisable to buy sneakers at the end of the working week, since the legs are slightly swollen. Do not bypass the half sizes.
  • From the sneakers, you need to get the insole and attach it to the foot. The location of the foot on the insole should be free, and there should be a distance of about 0.5 cm from the toes to the edge of the insole. The insole should be moderately stiff and not high, otherwise it will take up a lot of space in the sneakers, quickly deteriorate and will dampen the sensation of contact with the surface.
  • Running shoes should be tried on on the socks that will be used for training.
  • When trying on the laces, you don't need to tighten them too tightly.
  • If women's sneakers are selected for a wide foot, then it makes sense to pay attention to men's models. Many of them have a versatile design that suits both men and women.
  • Having put on new sneakers, you need to lift up on your toes. If in this position an index finger enters between the heel and the back of the shoe, then it suits you and you will not feel discomfort when playing sports.
  • During fitting, it is advisable to run in sneakers, of course, this is not always possible. But such shoes while walking and when running can manifest themselves in different ways.

The main secrets of choice

There are several basic rules and secrets that will help you make the right choice of sneakers.

  • When trying on, it's worth re-lacing the sneakers as you see fit. Improper lacing can distort sensations and make a difference.
  • The fold line needs some testing. To do this, you need to take a sneaker, rest its toe on the floor and press down on the heel. The place where the sole will bend should be consistent with the anatomy of the foot. Running shoes with the wrong fold line will be uncomfortable to run, and you can earn flat feet.
  • Corrective insoles are a must for people with flat feet. They provide additional support for the foot, comfort and safety during sports activities.
  • Buying sneakers that are notoriously small or tight is a common mistake many make.
  • Do not rush to go out in new sneakers. Initially, you need to test them at home: walk in them for a while and even go for a run. All manifestations of discomfort while running will only intensify and will definitely not go away with time. And returning clean sneakers to the store will be much easier.

What will the external examination say?

First of all, sneakers are judged by their external parameters. Few of us will buy shoes that don't like their design or their appearance raises any questions. That's just about the external examination and we'll talk.

So, we take the sneakers in our hands and begin to carefully study the name of the manufacturer and brand. Nobody is safe from buying a fake, and you can buy some “Nyke” under the type of Nike branded sneakers. Such shoes can be of high quality, durable and very good, but do you want to take risks and buy a "pig in a poke".

Also, there are models with a correctly written brand, without visible differences and shortcomings, but the place of production is not indicated anywhere. In this case, there is also a high probability of acquiring a fake of unknown origin.

The quality of the shoe can often be determined by its appearance. High-quality sneakers will not confuse you with visible, sloppy and rough seams, drops of glue on the sole, and even more so on the outer material. Smell the sneakers, they should not smell like shoe glue, rubber and other not very pleasant things.

Evaluation of the sole must be done with great care. In good running shoes, the outsole has a multi-layer construction that is created like a sandwich. Usually the outsole is made up of hard rubber and a midsole.

The composition and design of the constituent elements of sneakers can vary significantly depending on the type of shoe and its purpose.

Skin or not skin?

If you are purposefully going to buy leather sneakers and want to succumb to the provocations of sellers, then you need to use the following tips:

  1. There must be a special information sheet on the sneakers, which displays the composition of each element of the shoe. True, not all manufacturers provide such information to their consumers.
  2. If there is no information on the composition on the sneakers, then you can press your hand to the shoe for 10 seconds. Natural leather will become warm, and the artificial material will be cool and even sweat may appear.
  3. Bend your sneaker. But this time not to determine the fold line, but to check the speed of straightening of the material. Genuine leather will very quickly return to its original position, but artificial material will take some time for this process.
  4. It would be nice to put a few drops of water on the shoe. In the case of natural leather, darkening will become noticeable, but the artificial material will not react in any way to such an effect.

I think most people do not climb into the jungle. I have 3 basic pairs of sneakers: for walking around town, for running and for trainer / fitness. I don’t take cheap shoes, but if possible, I try to save money. I'm not sorry, I'm happy with everything.
