The kitchen is the place where the whole family gathers for an evening meal. It is important to equip the room not only as functional as possible, but also to bring comfort to the interior. In the article we will look at ways of arranging and designing a 13 sq. m with a sofa.

Zoning

A kitchen with a sofa assumes the presence of two zones: work and rest. The first will have a kitchen set, the second will have a sofa and a table. First of all, you need to decide how many square meters will be allocated to each space, it depends on your personal preferences.

It is recommended to choose the color of the furniture lighter, as it will visually expand the room.

Next, you should decide on the layout of the room and lighting.

Layout

An area of 13 squares allows you to give free rein to your imagination and make your dream kitchen. The layout of the working area in this case can be of three types: linear, L-shaped and C-shaped. The first option involves the location of the kitchen unit and other furniture along the walls opposite each other. Such a layout is the most straightforward and economical, since furniture stores offer ready-made linear-type kitchen furniture at an affordable price. Some of the upper drawers can be made open or with glass doors so that they do not overload the space.

At the edges, a tall pencil case and a large refrigerator will look great, on top of which a mezzanine will be a practical solution. Place a straight, narrow sofa against the opposite wall, and place the table and chairs in the corner of the room. If necessary, the sofa will serve as an additional seating area. If the width of the kitchen allows, you can put a corner sofa and move a table with a couple of chairs to it.

An excellent solution would be a headset in the shape of the letter L, where the boxes are located along the longitudinal and end walls. Such a layout will visually make the narrow kitchen wider and maintain the correct distance between the sink, stove and refrigerator. Opposite the headset is a small sofa and a table with chairs.

The C-shaped kitchen layout is in many ways similar to the previous one, but ends with a bar counter. The working area runs in a semicircle along two walls, and the bar, as it were, separates the cooking area and the rest space. This is the most practical option for a 13-square kitchen, since the counter can function as a dining table, and additional storage boxes can be made under it. In this case, the sofa is placed either with its back to it, or along the wall, depending on the wishes of the owners. If necessary, squaring allows you to put a small table in front of the sofa and move chairs to it.

Lighting

Lighting in the kitchen is one of the main issues, as it determines the convenience of cooking. The kitchen has 13 sq. m, one large chandelier with three bulbs will be enough. If desired, it can be supplemented with a lamp system with spotlights along the perimeter of the ceiling; its presence is very convenient when there is no need for bright light. Be sure to install separate LED lights above the work area. Especially such light sources are needed above the sink, hob and countertop, where most of the cooking will take place.

If there is a bar counter, it is recommended to carry out spot lighting on the top panel, an excellent solution would be colored lighting in the presence of a two-level ceiling.

Registration

It is recommended to design a kitchen in 13 squares using the most practical materials, since food for the whole family will be prepared in the room, accordingly, nothing is safe from splashes of oil and grease.

Floor

It is recommended to cover the floor moisture resistant laminate or ceramic tiles. When using a C-shaped kitchen set, where the bar will delimit the zones, you can combine two types of flooring. Ceramics are easy to wash and clean from dirt, they are shock and moisture resistant - ideal for the kitchen. Laminate can be laid diagonally to visually enlarge the room. A podium will look great on 13 square meters, raise the floor level in the work area.

Ceiling

The ceiling in the kitchen can be decorated with stucco or made two-level, if the height allows. An excellent option for the kitchen would be stretch ceiling with a mirror surfacewhich will visually make it taller. The optimal color will be white, beige and other light shades.

It is not recommended to give preference to dark colors, as such a ceiling will make the room lower.

Walls

Modern renovation stores offer a wide selection of materials for wall decoration in the kitchen: washable wallpaper, Venetian plaster, ceramics, cladding panels and others. The above products are easy to clean from dirt and have increased resistance to temperature and humidity changes.

Style selection

The style of the interior is chosen according to your personal preferences.

  • Classical. One of the more popular options is the epitome of wealth and luxury. The decoration is carried out in beige or brown shades. A kitchen set made of natural wood with a silver or gold patina and elegant fittings looks very expensive.
  • Modern. Simplicity and brevity is the motto of this trend in the interior. Closed wardrobes without fittings, a minimum of decor and glossy shades - this style is optimal for a young family.
  • High tech. A feature of this interior is streamlined shapes, chrome plating and the latest technology with touch control.
  • Provence. Rustic style is the epitome of coziness and comfort. All shades of brown, sand and olive prevail in such a cuisine. Decor in the form of beautiful paintings, small figurines, curtains and tablecloths made of rough fabric is welcomed.
  • Loft. Contemporary style, the highlight of which is a bare wall with imitation of brick. A minimum of furniture, simple lamps and dark colors - these are the basic rules for decorating a loft kitchen.

Beautiful examples

Cozy kitchen 13 sq. m, made in warm beige colors. The kitchen set is located with the letter G, there are no upper drawers so as not to burden the room. An original cooker hood adds zest to the interior. Ceramic tiles in different colors and a two-level ceiling delimit the space. The dining area has a soft sofa, table and chairs. Light brown curtains, a low chandelier above the table and two vases of white flowers complete the design. Everything looks very harmonious and gentle.

The modern white suite with a smooth glossy surface and beige top fits perfectly into a bright room. The imitation brick wall is decorated with two dark mirror inserts with a 3D pattern. The opposite wall is painted white and decorated with black and white photographs and a TV. The black sofa is in harmony with the decor of the room, and white pillows and a coffee table with gray poufs scattered around it add a touch of comfort to the interior.
