Tips are very popular due to their attractive appearance, affordable prices and simple gluing procedure. But not every girl knows how to properly and safely take them off.

Therefore, this article will discuss the best ways to remove glue manicure at home.

Features of the procedure

Nail tips (as professionals call false nails) are widely included in the everyday life of many women. With their help, you can create a beautiful manicure for a long time, and you can do it easily and independently. But sooner or later, false nails must be removed, and this procedure itself has several serious nuances:

  • the method of removing nails should be chosen based on their material;
  • be sure to familiarize yourself with the recommendations of the glue manufacturer on how to remove it from the plate;
  • it is worth preparing all the necessary materials in advance, and it is better to choose several ways to remove manicure with glue at home at once;
  • you need to take your time to remove the tips from the nail plate.

Only by following all these recommendations, you can not only remove the manicure with glue with high quality and quickly, but also do it safely and accurately.

Artificial turf removal options

All methods of removing tips from nails can be divided into two large groups:

  • safe, that is, those that do not harm natural nails and do not deform them;
  • traumatic - these are those, the use of which can cause painful sensations or deformation of the nail.

If you choose the second option for removing tips, this does not mean at all that you can harm yourself. It's just that in such cases, you should be extra careful and act slowly.

Safe nail removal with glue

The most popular sparing options for removing tips from nails include the following techniques.

  • Steaming in hot water. All you need is a small container of hot water and an orange stick. First, the fingertips are lowered into the water so that the entire nail plate and cuticle are submerged in the liquid. After 5-7 minutes, using a stick, it is necessary to carefully move the surface of the tips to the side from the side of the cuticle, lifting it up. If this does not work out, then you should add a little boiling water to the container and soak the nails for another 5 minutes in water. If after that it was not possible to remove the manicure with glue, then you need to use another method.
  • Use of professional formulations for removing extended nails from acrylic or gel. Such products have a gentle composition, which include useful substances for the nail and the skin around it. First, you need to slightly trim the tips, then use a cotton pad to apply the manicure removal solution to their entire surface, and wrap each nail on top with ordinary foil. After 30-40 minutes, the foil and disc are removed from the nail plate, and the tips are removed with an orange stick, as in the previous case.

After removing the false nails by any of the above methods, the surface of the plate should be wiped with a special nail polish remover with acetone. This will help remove any glue residue from the surface.

If the tipsy do not want to take off, then you can resort to more radical methods. But you should definitely follow all the recommendations, do not increase the time of the procedure or the holding time of the product on the nails.

Acetone compress

This option almost always helps to remove tips. Having decided to use it at home, it is worth providing fresh air access to the room, since the product itself has a very pungent and specific smell.

The procedure will be as follows:

  1. ordinary cotton pads must be well moistened in a solution of undiluted acetone;
  2. attach them tightly to the tips, and wrap them with foil on top in two layers;
  3. leave for 20-25 minutes, then remove;
  4. using a stick, gently move the false nails away from the plate, starting from the cuticle and slightly lifting them up;
  5. at the end of the procedure, remove the remaining glue with a disk and acetone.

After the tips are removed, you must thoroughly wash your hands and lubricate the nails and the skin around them with a thick layer of nourishing cream.

Acetone has an extremely negative effect on the skin and the plate itself, so you should also apply olive oil or fat cream to your fingers before starting the procedure. This must be done half an hour before the start of manicure removal.

Orange wood stylus and acetone

This option involves using an orange tree stick (stylus), acetone, and a small dropper.

Step by step process:

  1. using the stylus, gently move the cuticle away from the tips;
  2. lift the edge of the false nail;
  3. with a pipette, drip a few drops of acetone into the hole formed;
  4. leave nails for 5-7 minutes;
  5. with the sharp end of an orange stick, lift, and at the same time move the tips up.

To achieve the best effect, you should steam your fingertips in warm water for 10 minutes before starting the procedure. And after removing false nails and glue residues, lubricate your hands with a nourishing cream.

Nail polish remover

Here it is best to purchase a professional product with a powerful composition.

The order of removing tips will be as follows:

  1. pour the nail polish remover into a small bowl;
  2. lower the fingers of one hand into the container so that the false nails are completely covered with liquid;
  3. soak the fingertips in the solution for about 10 minutes;
  4. using a wooden stick, move the tips away from the root of the nail plate upward;
  5. it is necessary to process each finger in turn, first on one hand, and then on the other.

If this option for removing the manicure with glue did not help either, then you can turn to a win-win technique - cutting.

Cutting tips

This is one of the longest time and at the same time the most traumatic option for removing false nails. It involves the use of special files with a large and medium section, similar to those with which extended nails are cut down.

The point of the procedure is that on each finger, the upper surface of the tips is cut off first with a file with a large section, and then with a small one. The procedure is quite lengthy and dangerous, as there is a high risk of damage to the cuticle.

The remnants of glue from the nail plate are removed either with a cotton pad and acetone, or they are simply cut off.

The disadvantage of this particular option for removing manicure with glue is that no matter how carefully the procedure is performed, the upper part of the nail plate itself is still cut off, which ultimately leads to its thinning and deformation.

Helpful hints

So that wearing tips, and especially the procedure for removing them, does not bring more disappointment than the joy of a beautiful manicure, you need to follow some tips from professional manicure masters.

  • Regardless of the method of removing such a manicure, before the procedure, you should steam your fingertips in water. An exception is the cutting of tips.
  • After removing the false nails, do not immediately glue on new ones. It is best to repeat the procedure no earlier than a couple of days later. The nail plate also needs to rest and repair.
  • It is not recommended to replace an orange tree stick with a metal tool - because of this, the risk of injury increases significantly.
  • After completely removing the tips from the nails, it is imperative to apply nutrients to them and the skin around them.
