Probably, many will agree with the statement that pregnancy beautifies any woman. While waiting for the baby, the woman literally blooms and shines from the inside. And, of course, any woman wants to remain the most beautiful in this special period of her life. And, if there should be no problems with ordinary clothes for expectant mothers, since the choice today is huge and diverse, then how to choose outerwear?

In addition to comfort and good looks, a coat should be practical. It's good if you can wear it after pregnancy. Our article will tell you how to choose the right style, what material the coat should be made of and what points to pay attention to when choosing it.

Models and styles

The most popular and most optimal coat style for expectant mothers is - trapezoid... Model, flared from the chest, may be of medium length to mid-knee or slightly shorter. The coat smoothly fits the rounded shape of the expectant mother, without tightening the stomach and without causing discomfort when moving.

The batwing coat is ideal for women in an interesting position. This style always looks very stylish and fashionable, in addition, it is very convenient for pregnant women. Fashionable poncho-type coats can also be added here. They are sewn from thick fabrics, so they are also suitable for the cold season.

One of the trends of this season is clothing in the style of “oversized". Baggy, loose clothes, as if taken from someone else's shoulder, are the best fit for stylish and modern future mothers.

Cloak-coat - an irreplaceable thing for a rainy fall or spring. In silhouette, such a model resembles a flared coat, but is made of waterproof and windproof fabric.Often complemented by a belt and a hood for convenience.

Elegant cocoon coat, thanks to its cut, is ideal for pregnant women. It goes well with jeans, trousers, elongated tunics and other clothing.

Buttons are most often used as a fastener for a coat. But they are not always convenient. Especially in models where the buttons are located only in the upper part of the coat, and the lower part opens open at the first breath of wind.

Wrap coats will be a worthy alternative for the usual button-down models. They are fixed with a wide belt that can always be loosened or tightened if necessary.

Single-breasted or double-breasted straight-cut coats are ideal for women who prefer classics. These models are ideal for early pregnancy, the dense fabric and loose silhouette will easily hide a small tummy.

For warm autumn days or cool summer, lightweight coat options are quite suitable, for example, knitted... Knitting can be large, thick, embossed. Such a coat will perfectly protect both from the cold and from the wind. Openwork, loose knit will replace a warm jacket or cardigan on cool days. Such a coat can be worn without buttoning, simply draped over the shoulders.

Perfect for the cold season down coats... Natural down has excellent thermal insulation properties. Such a coat will warm even in the most severe frosts, while it is very light, which is also important.

Sling coat - the most functional and practical option, which is suitable for both pregnant women and young mothers. The wide, spacious niche first hides the growing belly, and then serves as a carrier for the baby.

Length

Clothes for a pregnant woman should, above all, be comfortable and comfortable. It should not constrain or hinder movement. Therefore, as a rule, coats for expectant mothers are made of medium length or short.

A long model with buttons from top to bottom does not allow free movement, in such a coat it is uncomfortable to climb the steps of the bus or go down the stairs.

The best option is just above or below the knee for regular models and up to mid-thigh for short ones.

Spring Trends [Y]

Fashionable coats for expectant mothers are made in feminine silhouettes - trapeze, bell-bottom, cocoon. Soft lines, delicate colors, beautiful decorative details and elements are the main trends of the new season.

No flashy prints and ultra-bright colors. Classic color combinations, traditional geometry, floral patterns, monochromatic models are still in vogue.

Other relevant details of the new season include leather coats and the use of natural or faux fur for decoration and decoration.

Textile

When buying a coat, an important factor in favor of choosing a particular model is the material that is used for sewing.

The preference is most often given to natural materials, such as wool. Sometimes it is possible to allow the use of a small percentage of man-made fibers in the composition of the fabric. Purely synthetic material does not keep warm well in winter, it is hot in it in the warm season. Synthetics are poorly breathable and can cause allergies.

One of the most frequently used materials for sewing coats is drape: warm, dense, durable, perfectly retains its shape, ideal for creating complex styles and original draperies. The drape can be made on the basis of woolen or semi-woolen fabric, it can be with or without pile.

Soft, delicate, delicate cashmere is ideal for sewing light autumn coats. The material is very pleasant to the touch and perfectly retains heat.

Stretch wool tweed with a characteristic herringbone weave for high strength and abrasion resistance.

Crepe, boucle, diagonal, gabardine and other fabrics are no less popular materials for sewing coats.Models for the cold season are additionally decorated with natural or artificial fur edging.

Colour

Of course, there are no restrictions on the choice of color for a coat. It depends on taste, fashion trends, coat style, etc.

This season, pastel shades are especially popular: soft peach, sand, green, blue, lilac, etc.

Black, navy blue, gray and other classic colors don't go out of style either. A snow-white coat looks fashionable and stylish at any time.

Lovers of rich, bright colors can be recommended this year's shades of fuchsia, scarlet, green and other colors.

A red coat with a laconic cut with contrasting hardware will be a highlight for creating any look. Under this color it is worth choosing clothes in more restrained and dark tones.

Of course, the physique of the woman herself influences the choice of color.

In the short term of pregnancy, when the tummy is still practically invisible, you can choose all shades of light colors - white, milk, cream, light beige.

A well-chosen print, for example, narrow vertical stripes, will help to give the figure slenderness and grace. The coat can be complemented with a narrow, graceful strap or belt.

Large, bright prints focus on the figure, so during pregnancy it is best to refuse a coat with such an ornament.

For lovers of muted, practical tones, we can recommend different shades of coffee, chocolate, bottle glass, wet asphalt, etc.

The coat can be plain or decorated with a small, discreet print. Among the most popular prints are stripes and checks, floral patterns, ethnic ornaments.

How to choose?

To buy a coat for a pregnant woman, it is best to go to a specialty store. Special clothes are developed taking into account the changes in the figure of the expectant mother; they are somewhat different from ordinary clothes.

When choosing a coat, you should pay attention to the following points:

Length... Shortened coats and mid-length models are most optimal for women who spend a lot of time outdoors. Outerwear should be comfortable, not constrain or hamper movement during long walks.

Material. Depending on the season for which the coat is purchased, the fabric can be thick or thin, warm or lightweight, waterproof, etc. Preference should be given to natural, breathable, hypoallergenic materials.

The size... Usually, special clothes for pregnant women provide for the possibility of wearing clothes for a long time, that is, at different times, and sometimes even after childbirth. Do not choose a model that is too large or too small. Tight clothing is simply not acceptable for a pregnant woman, too loose will hang baggy and cause discomfort.

Style... The coat should fit perfectly on the female figure, it should be comfortable and comfortable in any situation.

Additional elements... It is good if the coat has a hood, pockets, belt and other details. They will definitely come in handy in case of strong winds, rain, low air temperatures, etc.

What to wear with?

Depending on the style and model of the coat, the material from which it is sewn, and the length, you can combine trousers, jeans, sundresses, dresses, overalls, tunics, turtlenecks, skirts, etc. As footwear, it is recommended to choose shoes or ankle boots with flat or low heels.

As accessories, you can use beautiful, bright neckerchiefs, light or knitted scarves, large beads, brooches and other jewelry.

A beautiful hat, an elegant beret or a stylish hat will be an appropriate addition to a coat. It is good if the headpiece is designed in the same color scheme as the outerwear itself. Then the outfit will look as stylish and harmonious as possible.

Under a bright, saturated color coat, it is best to choose clothes of calmer, restrained colors.

Spectacular bows

The classic version: a flared short coat of a beautiful emerald color with a fur trim goes well with trousers, jeans, and a skirt.

An elegant option: a free-cut snow-white coat with an original, delicate print, in perfect harmony with a dress and flat shoes. A neat small handbag made of patent leather complements the look.

A bright, stylish bow harmoniously combines several shades of green at once. The bag, shoes and coat look great against the background of black clothes.

And why do all pregnant women have legs like matches? I've gotten 12 kg fat, and my legs are not thin, and my hips. Are there options for full pregnant women?

In my opinion, the article describes models specifically for overweight: oversized, trapezoid ... I think that pregnant women, even slim ones, do not have to wear clothes above the knees in the last stages - and then it will not be clear which legs are full or matches. Short clothes, incl. short coats with trousers, shorten growth, unfavorably split the silhouette, make a woman look like a ball or a bobblehead. Clothing above the knee is only permissible in the early stages.
