Patches for the skin around the eyes do an excellent job with traces of fatigue and lack of sleep, remove swelling, and enhance metabolic processes. Unlike eye cream, this wonderful cosmetic product is quickly absorbed and gives a tangible effect. You should know how to store them correctly.

Correct storage

Patches are available both in individual packaging and in 60 pieces or more. A special liquid inside prevents them from drying out. Plastic containers should be kept tightly closed at room temperature. It is important to keep the packaging away from heaters and batteries and away from direct sunlight. Otherwise, the serum in the jar will deteriorate, as will the patches themselves. It is important to remember that after opening, the shelf life is limited to 2 months.

It is also not recommended to store them in rooms with high humidity, for example, in a bathroom. The best option is a dark, dry place. The patches should be removed from the package with a special spatula or tweezers that come with the kit.

If you take the material with your hands, bacteria and microbes can be introduced, and the entire cosmetic product can deteriorate.

Patches can be used on a regular basis or as needed. It is allowed to use it 2 times a day, for example, in the morning to wake up and give the face a rested look, and in the evening to relieve fatigue. In no case should you leave the records overnight. Instead of the expected effect, you can get an unpleasant result: overnight, the patches dry out and tighten the skin. A hard border forms around the edges, which leaves an imprint. With age, the elasticity of the skin decreases, and the circles may not go away for a long time.

Several manufacturers provide reusable patches. After use, they are put back in a case with a special cleaning liquid. But even in this case there is a limitation on the use: usually no more than 5-6 times. The cost of products is often much higher than disposable counterparts, therefore, it is in less demand.

If there are only 2 patches in an individual package, then they are disposable. It is convenient to take them with you, for example, on a trip or carry them in your purse as an emergency tool. If the package is opened, it is better to use it right away. Otherwise, the liquid will dry out quickly, and the patches themselves will become unusable.

In fridge

Patches do not need to be refrigerated unless the manufacturer requires it in the instructions for use. But if the products were purchased to combat puffiness and bags under the eyes, then the cold enhances the effect. However, refrigerated product is contraindicated for sensitive skin or those prone to rosacea.

Always keep reusable hydrogel and silicone patches in the refrigerator. After use, the products are washed with water, they can be placed in a separate container.

The disposable hydrogel and tissue patches are stored at room temperature, but they can also be stored away in a cool place. This does not affect the shelf life.

What to do with the used ones?

Each pair of patches is disposable. Some people prefer to store them in a separate container and reuse them. But they will not give the expected cosmetic effect, since they completely transferred all the nutrients the last time. In no case should you put them back in the common jar: you can ruin the entire product. Therefore, do not store used material.

It so happens that the liquid has partially evaporated, and the upper patches have dried out. It makes no sense to use them, since they do not contain the required amount of active substances. Products are thrown away as used.

Whey contains volatile substances, as a result, it evaporates quickly. This is why it is important to close the lid of the case tightly.

Second life of products

Unlike other patches, hydrogel can be reused, but in a different capacity.

  • Dissolve them in hot water and make an excellent fortified face toner. It is a pity that he has a shelf life of only a day. Under no circumstances use boiling water: the gel will simply cook.
  • Another option is to pour the tonic into ice cube trays and freeze. With the resulting cubes, wipe your face in the morning. They perfectly tone and refresh the skin. An interesting substitute for herbal teas and green tea with a more tangible cosmetic effect. The shelf life is longer: about a month.
  • You can make a mask. Dissolve the used plates with hot water to a gruel state. Apply to skin for 15–20 minutes and rinse.

Patches perfectly refresh the face in just 20-30 minutes, but only if the expiration dates and storage conditions are observed. Therefore, it is important to read the instructions on the packaging. If the skin is not prone to rosacea, you can put the packaging in the refrigerator.
