Cast iron cookware is invariably in demand, it has been used very actively for many centuries. But there are many subtleties and nuances that you need to know when choosing it. It is useful to consider what types of tableware are made in Russia.

Peculiarities

Cast iron is practically immune to mechanical stress. It cracks, that's right, but it doesn't scratch or get damaged. The material is safe in environmental and sanitary terms, it lasts a long time. Slow heating is also a good reason to use Russian-made cast iron cookware. It provides uniform heat transfer to the entire internal volume: both at the bottom and on the walls.

That's why cast iron products are used in the preparation of pancakes, stews, pilaf and dishes requiring languishing... The cooked food will give off a delicious aroma. Long-term heat retention helps save gas, electricity or other fuels.

All designs are equipped with comfortable handles. The release of toxic substances or incompatibility with various types of plates is excluded.

Selection recommendations

Russian-made cast iron pans are made in a variety of formats. A stewpan can accomplish tasks that a pancake pan and deep-frying pan cannot do (the opposite is also true). In the absence of experience, it is better to give preference to universal models. They, albeit a little worse than specialized ones, cope with any task. The diameter is also important: in pans with a cross section of 0.5 m, food is prepared for the whole family, and smaller products are needed for personal use.

Russian manufacturers produce cast iron cookware with various types of non-stick coatings. On the most advanced versions, you can fry fish or chicken without adding oil or butter. The wall thickness determines which particular dishes can be cooked in a given container. Thin products are intended for making sauces, larger ones are needed for grilling.

The presence of removable handles also plays an important role (if they are not removed, it will be more difficult to remove the pan to a permanent storage place).

If possible, there are a few more recommendations to consider:

  • to purchase doused and enameled dishes only after careful acquaintance with the composition of the used coating;

  • study the information about the manufacturer as deeply as possible;

  • collect as many reviews as possible on independent sites.

Specific brands

In addition to general parameters, you need to focus on the list of the best manufacturers. It is appropriate to start the review with Dobrynya. Its utensils are not inferior to the products of foreign firms in their characteristics. However, the quality of the material sometimes raises separate complaints, and therefore it is recommended to purchase coated pans. Particular shortcomings do not prevent this brand of tableware from being in great demand.

A good alternative is the products of the Kamskaya Posuda plant. This enterprise has been operating for a relatively short time, but has already managed to establish itself on the positive side. Cast iron pans of this brand are produced without coatings. The assortment allows you to fully meet the demand. An attractive feature is the affordability of prices.

Lovers of cookware with non-stick coating should pay attention to products of the company "Garderika"... It produces pans with a diameter of 0.26 m. Products of this brand serve for quite a long time, but at the same time they are very heavy. Almost all dishes can be prepared in them.

The rating of high-quality models invariably includes developments under the brand "Katyusha"... Low sides make it easy to pour dough and turn pancakes. Thanks to the thick bottom, roasting will take place evenly. But there is also a significant drawback - an overly short handle. But "Katyusha" can boast of long-term operation.

The products of the Kukmara brand also deserve attention. She has been familiar to domestic consumers since 1950. The production process uses a completely safe non-stick coating imported from Germany. Continuing the review of Russian models of cast iron cookware, it is worth mentioning the frying pan "Dobrynya DO-3302"... It is a versatile product with extremely thin walls and a bottom no thicker than 4 mm.

Such proportions were not chosen by chance - in this way the manufacturer provided an easy warm-up. Users have at their disposal a pair of handles of different lengths. The ferromagnetic disc is very valuable for cooking on induction hobs. A sleek glass lid is included in the scope of delivery. Problems can be caused by the lack of a protective coating - because of this, you will have to take care of the pan more carefully.

Of the Chelyabinsk brands of cast iron cookware stands out favorably Ashinskiy metallurgical plant products... The products of the Balezinsky Foundry and Mechanical Plant represent a solid competition for it. A good example of this is a cast-iron cauldron with a capacity of 25 liters with an aluminum lid. "B-Kazan-25-K" perfect for cooking pilaf and other similar dishes. The diameter of the product reaches 0.53 m.

Also Balezinsky plant can offer:

  • pans with a wooden handle;

  • pans without handles;

  • grill pans with handles;

  • cast iron cauldrons with a capacity of 17 liters with a handle.

In addition to these products, the production of cast iron has been mastered in Russia:

  • brazier;

  • pots;

  • cast iron;

  • boilers;

  • ducklings.
