Scooters are popular vehicles for children and teenagers. Their main advantage is mobility, because they are lightweight, they can be folded and even taken with you to the store as a personal item. But, besides mobility, there is another important plus - versatility. This advantage does not apply to all scooters, but only to those that have three appearance options. Therefore, they were nicknamed 3-in-1 scooters.

Today we will look at their pros and cons, how they differ from ordinary rollers, how to use the third variation, and analyze several models of this type.

Differences

The most important difference is in structure. In addition to using the scooter for its intended purpose, you can make a new type of transport out of it, which can be described as a wheelchair scooter. With it, you can transport your child as if on a sled.

It is also better to use a gurney when conditions are unfavorable on the street, because such universal scooters come with a parental handle.

If there is mud or wind outside, then the child will not always be able to cope with the roller on his own, given that coordination is not very well developed in young children.

If we talk about the components included in the kit, then they are a kind of continuation of the deck. Thus, the new parts create a new platform for the child to sit on. On the front of this seat there are small handles for the little one to hold on to.

In total, the additional structure has three mounts.

  1. The first is inserted into the place of the steering column, after which the handles will be in the same place as the steering wheel in the normal state. So the child will not wean from the grip.
  2. The second is mounted on the deck, since this is the place that is the strongest and can withstand the maximum indicated weight. There are fasteners on each side of the platform that are held in place by two support points. For some models, these can be both stiff springs and thick rods.
  3. The third is created in order to insert a steering rack with handles into it. It is this rack that an adult should manage.

It is also worth noting that all scooters of this type are 3-wheeled, as they have a stronger fulcrum.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of such children's scooters include versatility, variability and the presence of a quick-release handle.

The disadvantage is that the component parts need to be kept somewhere, that is, if the child wants to transform the scooter on his own, he will have to carry a seat with attachments. Of course, you can fix them yourself, but for this you need to get confused.

User manual

First of all, after installing the seat, check the quality of the mountings. The more there are, the higher the likelihood that the mechanism will become faulty. Pay close attention to the two anchor points as they support the child's seat. Do not pull the steering rack out of the mount - do everything smoothly.

If you are going to ride in rainy weather or when there is mud on the street, do not forget to keep the entire scooter clean. Some mechanisms may work poorly due to the fact that the basic conditions of their maintenance are not met.

Before you start using the three-in-one scooter, carefully read the instructions, where you will learn detailed information on how to assemble, disassemble and operate the scooter.

Model overview

Although the type of these scooters is the same, some manufacturers have equipped their universal scooters with interesting additions.
