No matter how much we want to walk with our heads open so as not to spoil the styling and show off luxurious hair, there comes a time of year when it is simply cold without a hat.

However, the modern fashion industry provides a huge selection of stylish products that not only do not spoil, but even make the image richer and more interesting. A perfect example of this is the beanie hat.

What is a beanie hat?

A beanie is a hat with no strings in the style, but at the same time it is easily kept on the head, hugging it. Most often they are quite loose, because there are long models in the trend, but this does not mean that you cannot find a hat that fits snugly to the crown. Beanie has a modest design, and that's her beauty. There is no need to watch how the hat sits on the head, it will fit any bow dashingly, turning the inconspicuous into trendy, thanks to its simplicity and versatility.

These hats came straight from clothing for handymen, loaders, mechanics, welders, that is, those who had to spend a lot of time outdoors, even in the cold season. Then this hat was strengthened in the form of students, because it was convenient to sew on the emblems of universities and colleges. Beanie gained fame in the 90s, when she moved from a working uniform to the ranks of fashionable paraphernalia.

Since then, the era of constant innovations introduced in design, material, color began for the beanie hat. Now it is not only a warm headdress, but also an accessory worn by many women, including the stars.

Fashion Models

A beanie hat is any hat that does not have fasteners or ties. That is why their lineup is very diverse, because it is not limited by any conventions.

Beanies can fit snugly to the head, or they can be long and loose, the baggy part will hang at the back of the head. In addition, they are divided according to seasonality. In winter, these are dense knitted hats, most often from thick yarn, and in spring, lighter and thinner models. Due to the materials used and the knitting technology, winter beanies are most often voluminous.

There are some peculiarities in styling a simple-looking hat. To begin with, they can diversify it in a well-known way - a pom-pom on the top of the head. Soft balls can be of yarn or fur, they give the look a little childish.

Hats with a lapel are popular, which adds volume and looks very interesting with many winter looks. Models with ears have a peculiar charm. Most often these are just the corners of the cap itself sticking out on the top of the head, but sometimes these are sewn-on elements that look exactly like the ears of cats, mice, bears.

Double beanie is a kind of snag. It is two-tone and can be turned outward on one of the colored sides. Thus, instead of one cap, you get two at once. Of course, so that the hat does not look ridiculous, its design is the simplest, however, one of the sides can be decorated with a print or a special pattern, while the other remains monochromatic.

Separately, it should be said about the two-color beanie. Despite the fact that it, like the double, uses several colors, they are still distributed on one side. The two-tone cap does not have a duplicate underside, it is the most ordinary one. The colors are most often distributed like this - the crown of one color, and everything else in another. Sometimes the lapel is different in color.

Beanie hats are rarely decorated. They are adorable due to their simplicity and effortless sportiness. Only sometimes you can see patterns lined with small rhinestones, sewn bows, embroidered logos or small catchy inscriptions on them.

Material

Beanies can be sewn from jersey or knitted from wool. In winter, thick yarn is a priority in order to warm and not let the wind through, so for this time of the year, hats made of natural wool, mohair, angora, cashmere, and merino are common.

Much less often and for the amateur - hats made of fur, for example, mink, and they use both whole skin and yarn.

Spring and summer hats should, on the contrary, be light and thin, so as not to cause overheating. For such beanie, cotton threads, bamboo yarn, water-repellent materials, fleece, thin jersey (cotton or silk) are used. To ensure greater airflow, a wide and openwork ligature is chosen for summer products.

Patterns

In addition to the fact that there are prints and patterns (stripes, patterns, peas) on beanie hats, knitted hats can be made in various technologies. Depending on the chosen pattern, a particular pattern appears on the hat during knitting.

They can be flat and smooth, openwork, along the entire fabric of the product, or voluminous, convex, but at the same time alternating with other patterns. In the second case, one of these techniques is often used in conjunction with a knitted elastic or headband to visually highlight accents.

Many bini are characterized by a pearl pattern. This is a simple and proven method of knitting, its result looks like a pearl scattering, for which it received such a name. There are several types of this technique, large and small, but in general it is not bulky in itself, smooth.

Among the volumetric patterns, the leading position is taken by the pattern with braids. It looks like the weave of the same name, and its volumetric texture gives breadth to the product itself.

There are other popular technologies: a combination of horizontal stripes of different volumes and colors, a tourniquet, diamond-shaped arans, garter stitch, English and patent patterns.

Colour

Conventionally, the variety of beanie colors can be divided into two categories. Universal, they are the most popular, and more rarely used, but memorable.

The former include gray, black and other basic colors that are combined with literally everything. The second category includes multi-colored and monochromatic bright shades, for example, pink, red, blue, orange. It is a little more difficult to choose them correctly for a particular bow, but they will definitely dilute any monochrome bow made in classic colors.

How to choose?

A beanie hat is definitely a hat for everyone, but in order to look beautiful in it, and not ridiculous, you should adhere to some tips. Chubby people can safely wear voluminous large hats, as they will draw attention to themselves and smooth out the roundness of the shape.

If the lower part of the face is massive, then it is worth wearing a hat with a lapel to balance the appearance. Long hats and hats with pom-poms will visually lengthen the face if it seems small. For people with large and pronounced facial features, coarse-knit beanies are suitable, and with small and expressionless ones, on the contrary, knitted, thin ones.

A knitted hat should not prick, as wearing it for a long time will be a real test. It should not be too large, because otherwise it will constantly fall off, but too tight too, because headaches can begin.

Bright hats with pom-poms, ears, unusual decorations are more suitable for young people, as they carry an infantile, frivolous character.

Hats in pastel shades and basic colors are the most versatile. Bright, undoubtedly, attract attention and can become a real highlight of the image, but some of them, for example, vigorous colors, are more suitable for tracksuits. Solid colors in a calm color palette are much easier to combine with a large number of looks.

How and with what to wear?

Thanks to the beanie, a certain carelessness appears in the image, which can be successfully used to create contrasting images. Outfits look spectacular, where a simple hat is combined with elegant clothes, depriving it of a touch of elitism and giving its own character.

Be sure to try on a beanie with a dress or a flared skirt, pencil skirt, formal trousers with arrows in combination with a shirt, pullover, sweater.

The hat can be worn by owners of both long and short hair. Those with luxurious hair should let it loose on the shoulders or on one side only, and put on the beanie so that it covers the forehead. For those with short hair, you can pull the hat to the back of the head so that the curls peep out from under it.

But these are just recommendations and it is not necessary to follow them, because we are talking about a beanie hat, which brings simplicity and freedom of choice. You can wear it by pulling it on the forehead, crown, nape, move it to the side, roll the baggy part into a tourniquet, or, conversely, put it upright.

Beanie owners love to combine what, it would seem, does not fit, but in the end it looks very original. For example, a hat with a chiffon or silk blouse, a classic woolen coat, short shorts.

Large knitted beanie suits down jackets, parkas, leather jackets, and in the warmer seasons - cardigans, sweaters, loose tunics and flying shirts. Thin knit hats work well with sweatshirts, blazers, cardigans, skinny jeans and trousers.

The hat goes well with a scarf, with a snood, and they can be either one tone or another color and even texture. Of course, do not forget about gloves, mittens, because in winter there is nowhere without them, and if the beanie is knitted, then it is better for them to be just like that.

A high short black skirt in combination with a short gray sweater tucked under it is a trendy youth image of this season. High knee socks and flat shoes will add flirtation, and complete the look with a beige beanie hat with a pompom and a brown bag.

A warm dark gray sweater with black sweatpants is the perfect set for a voluminous beanie hat, matched to the sweater's color. The image will sparkle with new colors if you add a gray long coat and a black crossbody bag to the sporty style.

Bright beanie is ideal for diluting a casual solid color bow. Black blouse and jeans, black leather jacket, and so that the red hat does not stand out from the image, sneakers with red inserts. Well, what kind of city girl can do without big sunglasses?
