Features and Benefits

The Russian climate is perfect for wearing fur products. No outerwear warmer than a fur coat has yet been invented. Fox fur is considered one of the most attractive and sought after. The long pile of this fur is able to warm even in the most severe frosts. A fox fur coat is a fairly popular thing that today can be found in the wardrobe of many girls and women; it can be worn by both young fashionistas and elegant ladies of the age.

The main advantages and secrets of the attractiveness of fox fur coats lie in their practicality and durability; with proper care, such a product can last at least five seasons. The original colors and pleasant texture of the fur can emphasize the advantages of the figure of their mistress and hide the existing shortcomings. The beautiful and luxurious fox fur attracts the admiring glances of the people around, in such a fur coat it is impossible to remain unnoticed.

Models

The modern variety of fur products allows even the most fastidious young lady to choose the right style. Models of fox fur coats are presented with short fur products, strict jackets, frivolous jackets, comfortable short fur coats, stylish ponchos, practical vests, solemn coats and capes or chic “floor-length” fur coats.

The traditional style of a fox fur coat has long been considered a trapezoidal shape, expanding from the chest line to the bottom. This model is quite versatile and is suitable for all representatives of the fairer sex, of any age, type of appearance and figure.

Straight cut or even slightly oversized medium lengths are also popular. It will not add extra volume to its owners, but only emphasize their harmony and femininity.

Previously, all fur coats were sewn from vertically matched strips of fur. It was believed that only such a product looks organic, is capable of slimming and exposes fur in the most advantageous light. But at the moment, fur coats in which fur skins are located horizontally or transversely are most in demand. This selection of fur stripes creates an original wavy texture. Sometimes designers further enhance this unusual effect by cutting strips.

Fur coats made from fox pieces are in great demand due to the originality of the created models and a more affordable price. After all, the raw materials for such fur coats are the remnants of production, which for some reason did not fit for sewing products from whole skins. The main reason is not marriage, as is commonly believed, but a slightly different shade of fox fur, a different pile length, and so on.

A more comfortable style for girls and women living in a frantic urban rhythm will be shortened versions of fox fur coats, a hood or a voluminous collar will come in handy in such models. In addition to the purely aesthetic, they also perform a heat-insulating function. The "autolady" style provides for a length of no more than 60 centimeters, a free, possibly shortened, sleeve. This model is comfortable, does not hinder movements and does not wipe out from a long sitting.

Modern designers love to "play" not only with the shapes of the collars, but also with the sleeves. Full length sleeves can be straight or flared, and three-quarter sleeves with expansion at the bottom are also popular. If a couple of years ago, short fox vests were incredibly popular, then this season it is precisely short fur coats or full-length fur coats without sleeves that are relevant. You can put on your favorite warm sweater under such products, but for a cold winter such a duet is not quite suitable, rather for a cool off-season.

A transforming fur coat is an original product that can be easily turned into a sheepskin coat or vest by unfastening the hem or sleeves with one movement of the hand. A collar or a hood can also be removable for fox transforming fur coats.

Fox fur looks chic when combined with other types of short fur, natural suede or leather and knitwear. Combined fur coats can also consist of one type of fur, but in different colors. Fur coats look most original, in which the upper part to the waist line is made of one type of fur, and the bottom is made of another. Basically, voluminous fox fur is used on top of the product, and short-haired mink or astrakhan fur is used in the lower part.

Fox fur coats look quite harmonious with transverse or longitudinal inserts made of leather or suede. Such decor also performs a practical function; designers often provide inserts in places most prone to abrasion. The collars, hoods, cuffs and hem of the cropped fox fur coats can also be made of dense knitted jersey.

Fox fur coats on a knitted basis are the trend of recent seasons. Such fur coats are more graceful and lightweight, they do not add fullness and do not distort the proportions of the figure. Knitted fox fur coats are no less popular. The so-called fur knitwear is created as a result of interweaving thin fur strips on a special elastic mesh-base. Knitted fur products are attractive, lightweight and compact; moreover, in contrast to fur coats made of solid plates or pieces, knitted fur costs much less.

Length

A long fox fur coat to the heels is chic, no doubt about it, but it does not really fit into the modern pace and way of life. Such a luxurious product is only suitable for walking to a restaurant or theater, preferably along a clean sidewalk, away from the roadway. You can take a walk in the winter park and arrange a luxurious photo session there. But getting into a car, let alone driving it in a long fur coat, is not convenient, getting in and out of public transport without getting dirty is a difficult task, it is also risky to ride in the metro, a long hem can easily "chew" an escalator. In addition, long fur coats suit exceptionally tall and slender ladies.

To move around the city, it is much more practical to buy a medium-length fox fur coat, the short fur coat will not get tangled underfoot, but it will also prevent its owner from freezing. Modern auto ladies choose shortened versions of fur products, since most modern cars are equipped with heated seats, you can even sit in a mini-skirt, the main thing is not to freeze on the way to the car.

Fur types

There are a number of breeding varieties of fox fur, which serve as raw materials for the production of modern fur coats:

  • Russian fox. It has a low soft awn, the texture of the fur resembles a wild fox, the skins are usually quite small.
  • North American fox. The awn is longer and harsher, the skins are large enough.
  • Norwegian fox. The awn is high with a dense bristle, thick down, large skins.
  • Finnish fox. Long guard hair, outwardly reminiscent of feathers, rather large skins.
  • The black fox. The shade of the fur is silver-black, the guard hair is medium-long, silky texture of the fur and rich underfur. The more white the wool has, the more it is valued.
  • Fire fox. It is characterized by a uniform bright red color, maybe with dark gray down in the depth of the pile, sometimes there is a white color on the guard hairs.
  • Cross foxes. When crossing black-brown foxes and moths, a different color is obtained - a cross. The fur has an auburn tint, and black hairs are placed in the middle of the skin in the form of a cross.
  • Red foxes. They are characterized by thick, voluminous pile. Minus - the tendency to break off the guard pile.
  • Steppe fox (corsac). Habitat - Russia, Southeast Europe and Asia. Korsak is very similar to the common red fox, but much smaller in size. The color of the skins is gray with reddish tints.
  • Arctic fox. It is a subspecies of the Arctic fox, inhabits the tundra and forest-tundra. Also called polar, snow or white fox. It is characterized by a long, dense snow-white coat.

Sheared fox coats are quite popular, a haircut allows you to give the fur a more refined look, such a product makes the figure more slender and graceful, but the thermal insulation qualities are noticeably affected. When cutting, the guard hair is cut to the level of the underfur; the sheared fur is quite pleasant to the touch. In addition, the wear resistance of a sheared fur coat is higher than usual, since the shearing increases the protective functions of the fur, it does not roll and does not turn into felt over time.

The very first dyed fox fur coat appeared for the first time in 1971 thanks to the famous Yves Saint Laurent. Since then, dyed fur has carved a solid niche in the fashion industry. The modern chemical industry creates dyes that do not damage fur and do not adversely affect its warming ability.

Fashion trends

In addition to clipping and dyeing fox fur, a fashionable trend such as pinching is gaining ground. Plucked fur is obtained by pulling out the longest and hardest fibers from the skins using a special device, leaving the velvet underfur intact. Due to the total removal of the guard pile, the fur coat becomes almost plush.

Often haircut and pinching are used in combination - first, the upper long hairs are cut off, and then the velvety undercoat is plucked out, giving the fur various curly patterns, for example, under the "velveteen". Modern fur designers also popularize the so-called polishing of sheared fur using special abrasive machines.

Another fashionable trend in the fur industry is dyeing the pile in combination with bleaching. At the same time, a different color of fur comes out at the base and at the tip.

Colour

There are several varieties of the natural color of fox fur:

  • Redhead. The most famous color can be from brick red to fiery red.
  • Silver fox. Silver-black color, hairs are colored in three tones - dark gray base, white center and black tips.
  • Fire. A bright red uniform color, only a slightly gray cannon is noticeable at the tips. The guard hairs may be white.
  • Crossing. The color of the skins is dark red, in the middle there are black stripes in the form of a cross.
  • Platinum. The white color of the guard hairs gradually turns into gray, in the middle of the skin - a dark color.
  • Silver - a rare color, shimmers in the sun and shines.
  • Blue - a kind of arctic fox, the lighter the shade, the more expensive the fur coat.
  • Golden - shiny rich, rather rare fur color.
  • White. The natural color of the polar fox (arctic fox) in winter is snow-white.

Today, not all fox fur coats are made from skins of natural colors. Only perfect and impeccable quality skins are not dyed in preparation for sewing, the rest have to be tinted so that they do not differ in shade from each other in the product. Red, pink, green, blue, and even black furs are popular. The most daring and desperate women of fashion can purchase a fox fur coat that combines several bright colors. It is impossible to remain unnoticed in such a variegated product. There is no need to be afraid of dyed fur, the main thing is that it is of good quality.

How to define quality?

When choosing a fox fur coat, you need to check the quality of the fur and the sewing of the entire product.

  1. The fur coat should be stroked along and across the hairs, they should immediately return to their original place and not remain on the palms, the villi can be twitched, they should not come off easily. Good quality fur is shiny and does not leave a “greasy” feeling on the hands. Visually, all long hairs should be evenly spaced over the surface of the fur coat and not stick together into "icicles". If there is a suspicion of color fastness, a damp, light-colored handkerchief can be passed over the fur, it is important that it remains clean after the test.
  2. Examine the lining, it is better if it is not sewn to the hem, so you can examine the fur inside. The seams between the skins should be even, neat, without protruding threads and knots. It is better to stay away from a fur coat, the pieces of which are glued together. The flesh of fox skins is soft to the touch, milky in color. Stains and streaks are not allowed. Pay attention to the sewn-in tags and branded tags, carefully study the information contained on them.
  3. Do not hesitate to sniff the fur coat, the pungent smell should alert you. You should ask the seller for a certificate of conformity for a fur product, it should contain information about the manufacturer and the organization that issued the certificate. If you have any questions, you can call the telephones indicated in the certificate.

Reviews

Positive reviews about fox fur coats relate to their attractiveness, thermal qualities, durability, not prone to wiping, even on the sleeves, the ability not to lose shape and an attractive price. Of the minuses, the severity of the fur coat is noted, especially compared to the down jacket, the fox's tendency to add extra volume and a small selection of modern models.

What is the price?

The price of a fox fur coat primarily depends on the type of fur and the quality of the skins. Products made from solid plates are more expensive than fur coats made from pieces. Short fur coats can be found at a cost of about 12 thousand, luxurious “floor-length” fur coats from well-known manufacturers cost from 100 thousand. In the secondary market, fox fur coats can be found from 5 thousand.

With what and how to wear?

A fur coat below the ankle will allow you to wear whatever your heart desires. From footwear it is better to give preference to boots with high heels or wedges. A medium-length fur coat, about knee length, looks great with a leather or fur belt.Short fur coats-jackets and “autolady” fur coats made of fox fur look great with skinny jeans or trousers and high stylish flat boots. Fox jackets to mid-thigh can be used for special occasions, then it is better to combine them with high stiletto heels.

Gloves should be matched to leather boots. Carefully selected fur hats of the same shade as a fur coat are good as a headdress. Scarves, snoods and stoles will not be superfluous, the main thing is not to overdo it with bulk.

Gold earrings and amber that emphasize the natural golden color of the fox can be advised as jewelry. Silver, platinum or white gold items are perfectly combined with the silver fox.

Beautiful images

A long fur coat of a straight silhouette made of golden fox skins, laid in a “parquet” way, in combination with slightly flared sleeves, creates a truly delicate and luxurious image.

A cropped fox fur coat with three-quarter sleeves will create a modern look. A suede belt in the color of a fur coat and shiny leather gloves complete the stylish bow.

A cute silver-black sheepskin coat made of black-brown fox fur looks great with tight black tights and does not add any extra volume to a slender girl. The practical hood gives the look an extraordinary femininity.
