For almost every event in society, there are established rules for choosing clothes - an unspoken dress code that allows you to emphasize the importance of the moment and the solemnity of the situation. Wedding ceremonies are no exception. Particular attention is paid to the outfits of the ladies present; it is their taste and elegance that will become a unique frame for the bride's wedding image and remain on memorable photographs.

For the women themselves, the wedding ceremony is a great occasion to feel as if at a royal ball and to try to become the most spectacular, after the bride, a woman at the celebration.

Fundamental rules

For guests invited to the wedding, it is important not only to choose the right gift for the newlyweds, but also to choose the right outfit to match the situation and not be trapped.

To begin with, you should check with the future newlyweds in what way they plan to hold the wedding.

Recently, themed weddings, outdoor events, unusual and informal venues for the celebration are gaining immense popularity.

As a rule, a young couple notifies the invitees about such nuances in advance, but there are times when, even at classic weddings, you can feel uncomfortable if you do not get to the point with the outfit.

And, conversely, a clear understanding of exactly where the celebration will take place, what level and status of the banquet establishment, what time of day is allocated for the wedding, will greatly facilitate the choice of outfit and allow you to create an elegant and complete image that fully matches the setting.

There are also certain rules that must be followed in all wedding ceremonies. The wedding dress code for female guests is neither strict nor critical. It covers several areas at once that you just need to keep in mind when choosing an outfit.

Colour

Monochrome white and black is a taboo for a woman's wedding dress.

White color on this day is the bride's privilege, and black, according to the established tradition, is associated with completely different, gloomy ceremonies. However, in this case, there may be exceptions if the bride prefers a non-white color scheme for her outfit.

For example, a newlywed wedding dress will be in burgundy or blue colors. Then the guest is not forbidden to shade the image of the hero of the occasion with a white outfit. However, in this case, the guest's dress should be modest enough so as not to be conspicuous, since the white color will automatically attract the guests' attention, being associated with the bride.

As for the black color, it is permissible for a girl who is not one of the close friends of the bride to go in a small black dress in the French manner of Coco Chanel. Such an image should be chosen with care, taking into account the parameters of the figure, choosing elegant, non-flashy accessories.

Age

We must not forget that each age has its own style, and a wedding is just the event where you should, if possible, keep within your age limits. Bright shades, short skirts, frivolous frills and cutouts are suitable for young girls.

However, you should avoid strict suits, dense fabrics and rich dark colors.

Older ladies will look more elegant in clothes of noble colors with a minimum of ruffles and bows. Women of Balzac age and older should give up outfits of variegated colors, cheap jewelry. But strict trouser suits made of dense monochromatic fabric will look very respectable. The image can be softened by an elegant hat and exquisite jewelry.

Fabrics

The texture of the fabric for a festive costume is chosen appropriately for the season, as well as for the venue of the celebration and the general focus of the event. Heavy dense fabrics for evening dresses will be especially appropriate in a restaurant during the cold season, and light textures of bright or delicate colors are suitable for summer weddings.

Style

The type of festive dress is selected according to the figure and is kept within the bounds of decency.

At the wedding, too deep neckline, the maximum bare back to the waist, transparent blouses are unacceptable.

This is not very aesthetically pleasing for an event where relatives of newlyweds of different ages will gather, and in the daytime at a wedding ceremony such an outfit will look simply vulgar.

Regardless of the figure, the image of the guest should be holistic and harmonious, and the clothes should be elegant and fit.

An overweight woman, even a young age, should not give up trousers. only because it is customary to wear dresses or skirts for the wedding. "Flying" light fabrics, loose fit of trousers in combination with a jacket or blouse will look very stylish, and the hostess will feel confident and irresistible.

Witness

The role of a wedding witness is no longer so mandatory, but many brides traditionally wish to see their best friend next to them. She will be there throughout the entire celebration - in the wedding hall, at the table, in wedding photos. Therefore, if a girl is to act as a witness, you should be especially careful when choosing a festive outfit.

The main task is to emphasize the image of the bride as effectively as possible, not overshadow it, but also not look too faded. In order for the tandem of the bride and the witness to make a truly wonderful impression, the girlfriends must discuss their outfits, their style and color orientation in advance.

The bridesmaid's dress will always be half a tone more muted than the bride's wedding vestments. To the classic white crinoline of the newlywed, the witness can choose any pastel colors, blurred into mother-of-pearl or more saturated.

Turquoise, aquamarine, delicate pink, peach or lilac shades will look beautiful.

But deep tones, such as burgundy or purple, are best avoided so as not to look too gloomy next to the snow-white hero of the occasion.

Bridesmaids

According to Western fashion, many brides prefer not to be limited to one witness, but to invite several girlfriends to a close circle at once. The expression "bridesmaids" refers to girls whose outfit resonates with each other in style or color.

As a rule, these are dresses of different styles, but of the same color scheme. Or different colors, but common elements of clothing.

At the same time, the bride may have any accessory that speaks of the style of belonging to this group of girls. Most often it is a bridal bouquet, a flower on a bracelet or in a hairstyle of the same color as the dresses of friends.

Such flocks of girls resemble bright butterflies and are a decoration for a wedding. In the photographs, they set off the bride in a snow-white dress, creating stylish color frames for their outfits.

Seasons

Another important criterion for choosing a dress for a wedding is seasonality. Each season has its own clothing requirements, which leave an imprint on the choice of fabrics, styles and colors. Most women intuitively understand such nuances, but before a responsible event it is better to play it safe once again.

  • Summer season. The warm season has the largest number of wedding dress options. Evening and cocktail dresses for a restaurant, sundresses, light blouses, dresses made of airy fabrics for outdoor celebrations.

In summer, it is important to choose breathable fabrics that do not constrain movement and do not create a greenhouse effect. In the warm season, bright sunny shades reminiscent of summer flowers are welcome.

The summer season in the color palette is represented by the transition from the delicate colors of spring to bright summer tones, and then to the warm shades of the coming autumn. When choosing an outfit, you can focus on the month in which the wedding is held and dress in pastel colors in May or in golden-reddish colors in September.

  • Winter season. Weddings hosted in winter, late autumn or early spring dictate their own terms when choosing the right clothes. First of all, it should be warm so that the festive mood does not turn into a cold by the evening of the celebration.

However, it is not at all necessary to choose thick sweaters; fabrics made of fine wool, elegant jackets and skirts made of silk, evening dresses made of velvet and satin are quite suitable. In addition, in the dressing room of the banquet hall, you can always take off your outerwear, change your boots for dress shoes.

Even if the heating works well in the restaurant hall, the winter season itself does not imply the presence of summer dresses, sundresses and sandals. For this time of year, it is better to choose respectable outfits from noble fabrics.

Accessories

It's no secret that an outfit for an elegant woman is only part of the look. Accessories, jewelery and footwear are a complementary and finishing touch. They should be selected taking into account the color and texture of the fabric, the relevance and suitability for the situation.

There should not be too many decorations, and cheap jewelry is simply inappropriate. Let it be a small set of jewelry, but made of precious metals with natural stones. Beautiful jewelry made in the same style looks much more profitable and elegant than a variegated mixture of metals and plastic.

Shoes should ideally match the chosen suit, be its continuation. But at the same time, it is very important that the shoes are comfortable, because a wedding is a very extended event, lasting from early morning until late at night. All day the guest will have to walk, dance, take pictures - you should think about your legs in advance!

If you do not want to give up high heels, you can take with you a pair of removable shoes, but also completely suitable for a dress or suit.

It is better to leave a large handbag in the dressing room of the restaurant right away, and have a small clutch with you. It is convenient to place it on your lap or on a chair while dancing, and a mirror, napkins and lipstick will always be at hand.

If a wedding is planned in a church, the guest needs to take care of a headscarf. In order not to buy at the last moment what the nearest sellers have to offer, it is better to purchase in advance a light air scarf to match the color of the dress.
