Organization of a wedding celebration is a troublesome and serious matter, where you cannot forget about any trifles, even about the design and content of invitations. Such a wedding attribute should be taken care of in advance and sent out no later than 2 months before the upcoming wedding.

How to register?

Wedding invitations can be purchased in the store, made by hand and made to order from professional craftsmen. Store samples are more affordable than custom-made cards, but their choice is not so wide, and it may turn out that your wedding and a similar celebration of a friend will have completely identical invitations inside and out. Agree, it's not very pleasant, because you always want a personal celebration to be special.

Custom invitations will meet all your requirements, but their purchase will cost a tidy sum. A more economical way to make beautiful invitations is to use your own skill in making them. Here, of course, it will take a lot of time to carefully manufacture each sample. Familiarity with scrapbooking techniques and good materials are also important: cardboard, ink, paper, paints, decor.

The design of the cards should correspond to the general stylistic orientation of the event. If the wedding will take place according to the classical canons, then any postcards for guests can be. As a rule, these are traditional symbols of love: rings, hearts, flowers, doves, lace elements.

For modern celebrations with an emphasis on color, invitations should also contain this hue. For example, ivory, lilac, mint, cream, blue. A thematic event requires appropriate invitations.

Classic postcards can be replaced with a message in a bottle, a vinyl record with an invitation letter instead of the traditional name of musical numbers, a balloon with a note, an old scroll. This design will give guests some guidance on the theme of the upcoming wedding.

For friends and relatives, you can prepare a video invitation by posting it on Youtube, on a business card website, or simply by sending it to the addressees by e-mail.

Such interactive messages have significant advantages over paper versions:

  • delivered instantly;
  • will not get lost (unless for some reason the letter does not end up in spam);
  • it is more pleasant to see a live picture with familiar faces and hear warm words than to read a dry invitation text.

But invitations in video format also have a big drawback. The invitation always contains a lot of important information about the time of the beginning of the celebration, the place of its holding. Perceived by ear, this information will quickly be forgotten. Therefore, guests will still have to mark the coordinates of the upcoming event somewhere.

If desired and with sufficient time, young people can use invitations both on paper and with video. Moreover, many invitees keep beautiful cards after the wedding, as a memory of that solemn and joyful day.

In addition to standard invitations with detailed information about the wedding day, it has recently become customary to send out preliminary invitations, which are fashionably named in English - Save the Date. Such postcards are sent to all guests whom the young would like to see at their wedding, immediately after the date of the solemn event has been determined. This is done so that the invitees have time to notify the spouses about the opportunity to attend the event. After all, some of the guests may live in other cities or even abroad, someone may have already booked a ticket to hot countries or are going on a business trip.

How to sign?

With a large number of guests, wedding invitations are usually ordered from a printing house. In this case, the spouses will only have to fill in the columns with the names of the guests. Many newlyweds do not even want to sign invitations, worried that their handwriting is not beautiful enough. Therefore, the invitation is often signed by a calligrapher. This, of course, looks very impressive, but the amount for such a service will be rather big.

The closest relatives (parents, godfathers) and friends can write invitations by hand or by typing on a computer. The main thing in this situation is the absence of punctuation or spelling errors. In the computer version, an electronic editor will help to avoid this situation, which will highlight the error in color. And in the paper version, you will have to rely on yourself, your soul mate and, if necessary, a dictionary of the Russian language.

It is important to correctly formulate the text of the postcard. For example, the address "dear" and further "we will be glad to see you at the event in honor of our wedding, which will take place ..." - is too formal and will be unacceptable for a close circle of people dear to you. Of course, the text is informative, but it does not contain warmth.

It is very important that in addition to the important dates, place and time of the ceremony, in the subtext of the invitation card, the desire of the young to see the invitee at their holiday is felt. It is not necessary to address relatives by name and patronymic; for example, it will sound much warmer: "dear and beloved." You need to choose beautiful words in which you would feel not only your joy from the day ahead, but also your warm attitude towards the invited persons.

Coming up with a sensual wedding invitation is not easy. You can also turn to the internet for creative ideas.Naturally, repeating the text "from the web" is exactly not welcome, you need to add something individual to it. For example, mentioning an event that introduced or brought you closer to an invited guest or a joke that only you understand.

Even if a personally signed postcard is far from calligraphic accuracy, a personal appeal and the inclusion of a hand made element in the invitation will deeply touch the addressee and strengthen friendly and family relations. Poetic invitations are best avoided. Most often, they are knocked out of the general context of the wedding, while the syllable borrowed from the Internet does not shine with beauty and originality. It is better to write a few simple sentences in your own words, in which you feel your sincerity and warmth.

Wedding invitations must contain the following information:

  • the number of the celebration;
  • the beginning of the registration ceremony for the young (address);
  • the beginning of the festive banquet indicating the exact coordinates of the cafe;
  • signatures of the spouses (if the invitation card is official, then the signatures must contain the names of the bride and groom).

Registration and banquet addresses are necessary so that those guests who are late on the way can easily join the festive events without bothering any of the guests with attempts to understand where the wedding is taking place. It will not be superfluous to attach a short announcement of the wedding day to the invitation.

For example:

  • 11.00 - registration;
  • 15.30 - banquet (indicate the name of the restaurant and its location);
  • 21.00 - festive fireworks.

You can add one more small leaf to the invitation, which will contain additional information about:

  • whether guests need to get to the place on their own or will there be a custom transfer;
  • how guests from other cities will be able to quickly get to the home of the bride or groom to participate in the ransom;
  • how to get the invitees to the venue of the ceremony and the festive banquet.

Here you can also clarify the point about the possibility of the presence of the companion of the invited guest and children at the event, as well as the required dress code.

The last point is appropriate for youth weddings, which are often held in any theme: Provence, retro, Italian, pirate and others. Here you need to understand that guests of a respectable age will not be delighted with such an idea and may simply not come to the event. In addition, an evening with a specific theme sometimes requires real costumes, and not everyone can afford to sew such an outfit at once.

With regard to appeals to the recipients of the invitation, it depends on what kind of relationship you are with them. For example, in invitations for friends, it is permissible to write only names; refer to the management and colleagues by name and patronymic. To aunts, uncles, godfathers, you can address this: "Dear Natalia Leonidovna." And to mom: "Dear" or "Beloved mom."

Touching examples

The words of gratitude to the parents, written in the invitation, touch to the depths of the soul. The picture from the famous Love is chewing gum looks very cute. She seems to reinforce the above words and hints at the connection between generations through love. Invitation scrolls look unusual, "semi-antique". Monograms, dilapidated lands, a poetic syllable, an appeal to mother in "you", an ornate font - all this is saturated with nobility and great respect for the invited person.

The following design of invitations can be attributed to the retro style in terms of design. The first thing that sends us back to the last century is the black and white design. The aristocracy of the invitation is added by a sketch of a man and a lady in a fluffy dress on horseback, perfectly straight lines framing the invitation, the font, beautifully woven initials - the monogram of the young (there is even an imprint of it on the envelope). An interesting addition to the invitation is a leaflet with a menu.This was done, probably, so that the guests decided in advance on their culinary preferences and informed the newlyweds.

An invitation to a wedding in the form of a trip to the sea looks very unusual. On the seating plan map of guests, all tables are not numbered, but under the names of the continents. Each guest's invitation has already indicated his continent table.

The associations with the sea and relaxation are enhanced by the design of postcards in sandy-azure colors, with drawings of sails, palm trees, a compass, thin twine and wax seal. An invitation in the form of a chocolate card will be a pleasant mood for the upcoming ceremony. Having tasted the dessert over tea, each guest can think about how sweet the life of young people is, how beautiful and happy they are, and maybe even remember the beginning of their family life.

The inscription can be gilded with food coloring and decorated with plant motifs. A chocolate invitation can be handed over to guests in a tight envelope or in a small cardboard box.

Wedding invitations in the form of wooden puzzles look fashionable. These accessories with all the necessary information about the festive event can later be saved as a keepsake by hanging on the refrigerator (if the puzzle has a magnet on the other side) or used as a keychain.

She cannot but touch the charmingly tender invitation with the address "Mamulya". It would seem that there are no other words of gratitude to mom, there are no poems, but this very first word is so strong that it already determines the whole tone of the children’s appeal to the parent. The affectionate "name" is supported by the signature "With love." Delicate pink flowers, branches, blueberries and feathers indicate that the newlyweds thought it over well and decided to build a family nest. Their love is tender, like flowers on a postcard, and soon there will be the fruits of this love - children.

The blue of the sky is a symbol of pure motivation. An invitation made in these colors is associated with sincerity and trust. The font is as if by hand, the highlighting of important words in capital letters, and, most importantly, the very frank promise of the young to each other cannot but touch the hearts of the addressees, and even more so the parents.

The invitation in a bundle with red and white lace and satin ribbons of the same color, decorated on the inside with a happy photo of lovers, already introduces each guest in absentia to the future family.
