How to choose a large bathroom mirror?

A mirror in the bathroom is a necessary attribute. In addition to participating in daily hygiene procedures, it carries a decorative load, and also plays a certain role in the interior of the bathroom. A special category of bathroom mirrors is large mirrors.

Before buying a mirror you like, it is worth deciding in what style the bathroom will be made. This will determine not only the size, shape and location of the object, but also its functional load. For example, it makes no sense to buy a full-length mirror in the bathroom and completely cover its lower half with a sink.

Once you have decided on the style of your bathroom, you can move on to the next item - size and placement. A large mirror in the bathroom is good because it visually makes the room larger and brighter. So, if you have a small bathroom, feel free to purchase a full-length mirror. But, do not forget about the rule that in a small room all objects should be high, as if stretched upwards - this will enlarge the room.

And take care so that there is as little detail as possible in the bathroom - a large mirror will reflect it, doubling the amount, and create the effect of cluttering the room.

In a spacious bathroom with high ceilings, on the contrary, pay attention to rectangular mirrors about half the wall... They can be placed on the wall near the bathroom or sink, in which case the location will depend on the function of the mirror. If it serves only as a decorative decoration, then it is worth hanging it near the bathroom, and if the whole family is washing in front of it in the morning, then it makes sense to hang it near the sink.

Better to choose a place a few centimeters (about 5-10 cm) above the washbasin - this will protect the mirror surface from splashing too often.

If you prefer not too large, but functional mirrors, pay attention to models with a width approximately equal to the washbasin or slightly larger than it. They take up less space, and the remaining space on the wall can be converted into a wall cabinet.

Mirrors with a shelf should be chosen if you are sure that there will be enough free space on this very shelf. Otherwise, if everything is lined with bottles, jars and tubes of hygiene products, the clutter effect will reappear, and besides, almost half of the mirror that was supposed to reflect you will reflect all the countless products.

In addition to the reflective surface itself, the mirror can also have decorative elements, including a frame, patterns or additional lighting. When purchasing such a mirror it is important that decorative elements are in harmony with the rest of the design solutions in the room.

So, a model with a built-in electronic clock, sensor or LED backlight will fit much more organically into modern or minimalist styles than classic or baroque.

It is much easier to choose a mirror in a frame, since there are a lot of them, and you can find a ready-made version that will fit well into your interior. The most common types of frames are baguettes, planks and with forged frames or elements.

If an ordinary mirror hangs in your bathroom for a long time, embarrassing you with its unoriginality, then you can correct the situation with the help of various sticker patterns that can be selected for every taste and interior in online stores.

This will distract from solitude and the desire to focus on yourself and your thoughts. There is no need to make too bright or blinking light - this will create some discomfort. In your bathroom, first of all, you should be comfortable, and all design decisions should be made based only on your feelings.
