Yellow is a sunny color that conveys a summer mood and symbolizes comfort and warmth. Even on the coldest and most cloudy day, it will be very pleasant and comfortable to be in a room decorated in such colors, and if you use this shade to decorate a bedroom, then a sunny mood will settle in it at least until the next renovation.

Peculiarities

As a rule, rooms are decorated in yellow by people who love the warmth of summer days and who want to contemplate shades similar to sunlight all year round. Among the huge number of tones, everyone can choose the right one. The most popular varieties of the yellow range in the design of bedroom interiors include the following:

  • citric;
  • pale yellow;
  • mustard;
  • canary;
  • yellow-gold;
  • linen;
  • green-yellow;
  • pastel yellow;
  • yellow sulfur;
  • sand;
  • corn.

Taking one of the above shades as a basis and complementing it with others that are most suitable according to the color spectrum, it will be possible to create a unique interior, which will be conducive to a comfortable rest, but at the same time will give pleasant impressions and excellent mood before going to bed and immediately after waking up.

Yellow is most successfully combined with several colors in a dormitory.

  • White. This tandem looks gentle, but stylish at the same time. As a rule, neutral white is diluted with yellow accents or stands on an equal footing with a sunny tint, thereby creating a bright and positive atmosphere.
  • Brown. Colors of the same spectrum, but with different saturations, allow you to create an amazing combination of quality and lightness in the rest room.As a rule, brown furniture is chosen, which is complemented with light textiles of a sunny shade (these can be bedspreads, sheets, curtains, tulle), or any accessories (photo frames, lamp shades or sconces, bedside rug and much more).
  • Green. The combination of natural bright shades will appeal to innate optimists and connoisseurs of everything natural and natural. Such a collaboration looks spectacular in the style of bionics or eco. But it is important to note that for the most successful perception of the interior, it is necessary to supplement this duet with a third shade, which would take on part of the catchiness of these two colors and smooth them out a little. For this purpose, pastel beige, milky, light brown and in some cases even black are suitable.
  • Gray... Yellow with gray is an almost classic combination in modern interior design. Such a union looks juicy, but at the same time gentle, both colors perfectly complement and set off each other. In this case, there is no such daring brightness, as, for example, when combining yellow with green, but at the same time, these shades look very lively and organically next to each other.

Finishing options

As a rule, when planning a bedroom interior, the main tone is set by the walls, floor and ceiling. It is on them that the entire style composition of the room is built, and the yellow bedroom is no exception in this matter.

Walls

The walls occupy the largest percentage of the view not only of the bedroom, but also of any other room, so it is so important to choose the right option for their design. If we are talking about a room in sunny colors, then it is important first of all to choose the right surface texture, as the texture of some materials can overload the space too much.

For a room intended for relaxation, the best option for wall decoration will be wallpaper: classic or paintable. The material of their manufacture can be anything: paper, non-woven, vinyl, fiberglass or even bamboo. The main thing is that they allow the room to breathe and be environmentally friendly, since a person spends at least a third of his life in the bedroom and it is dangerous to constantly contact a source of toxins.

It is much more important to choose the right color.

If you plan to decorate the walls in yellow, then it should not be a flashy shade (like acid yellow or lemon). In a bright room, the psyche will be constantly in an agitated state, therefore, it is unlikely that it will be possible to fully relax in such a room. It is better to give preference to delicate beige and yellow tones, the color of caramel ice cream, and pastel sand colors. These shades do not attract close attention, but set the tone for the entire space. Any other items can be brighter and accentuates in such a bedroom.

Harmony in this case will not be violated, a comfortable and peaceful environment will be achieved in the room, which is at the same time quite fresh and positive.

If the predominance of yellow in the bedroom is planned only in details, betraying the overall sunny color of the room, then when decorating the walls, it is worthwhile to dwell on neutral shades altogether. For example, it can be milk colors, light beige tones of different intensities, as well as light gray colors.

Floor

Everything is not so difficult here, the main thing is to choose a shade that would match the color scheme of the entire bedroom. If white or light shades prevail in it, then the floor should be the same, and if dark interior items are used, for example, furniture made of oak or some other dark wood, then the floor of the corresponding tones will also be appropriate.

Ceiling

Since the yellow color for the most part belongs to the light range, the ceiling is chosen the same. A yellow ceiling will be superfluous even in a completely yellow room, so this option must be excluded. A white top is an ideal solution for such a bedroom, the only question is which shade of this color to choose: warm or cold.

It is absurd if the design is completed by a bluish-white ceiling surface, while below it the furnishings will be located exclusively in warm colors.

Another question is to prefer a matte or glossy ceiling surface. Here, when choosing, you need to build on other criteria, and first of all, this is the area of the room. If the bedroom is not large in size and at the same time has high ceilings, then the best option is to choose a glossy canvas. In this case, the entire environment will be reflected on the ceiling, and the doubled amount of light will give the feeling of a larger space.

If the color scheme is fairly neutral and there is no need for a visual expansion of the space, then it is quite possible to stop at matte ceiling covering, which is much more practical to maintain, does not attract too much attention and organically completes the whole composition.

Interior items

As for the furnishings of the bedroom, it usually includes a number of necessary items.

  • Bed. It can be double or single, depending on the number of people in the room. The material of its manufacture, like other pieces of furniture, is rarely yellow and is most often made under a tree or is such. In the bedroom, the design of which is based on yellow, it is better to give preference to furniture in light shades of wood: light and autumn beech, elm, cremona oak and champagne, royal maple and madison, walnut and alder.
  • Curbstone... According to the previous paragraph, there may be one or two on either side of the double bed. The color of the cabinet, like the bed, can have a woody tint.

Most often, these items are bundled and sold together.

  • Cupboard... It can be replaced by a spacious dressing room next to the bedroom or, if a single person lives in the room, a small chest of drawers with a hanger for storing suits.
  • Closet it can be great to complement the yellow interior if it is photo-printed in the shade corresponding to the color scheme of the room.
  • Curtains... Almost no bedroom can do without them, since this room, along with a toilet and a bathroom, is private. In rare cases, when the apartment is on the upper floors and there are no windows on the opposite side of the building next to it, the absence of textile framing of the window space is allowed. Also, curtains are not always provided on the windows in loft-style rooms. But if they do exist, then they are assigned an important role - to dominate the color in the room.

Most often, the predominance of yellow in a room is due to this very color of curtains that resonate with other textiles in the bedroom.

  • Carpet... As a rule, in recent years, an increasing number of designers tend not to use this attribute at all in living quarters, preferring to finish the floor with natural wood elements. The warm floor system can replace the warmth of the woolen pile. But still, nothing can replace a fluffy rug near the bed, which is so pleasant to step on, only when you wake up and get out of bed.

It is he who can become the final touch when decorating a bedroom in yellow.

Lighting

Light is a detail that can competently complete or completely ruin the entire interior composition, therefore, special attention should be paid to the design of lighting and the choice of lamps.

So, if the room faces the south side, then in it you can use the cold range of glow, which is given, for example, by fluorescent lamps. On the north side, soft LED lamps emitting a warm spectrum will organically complement the color of the room.

As for the choice of the light sources themselves, then there are no restrictions here, it is only important to maintain the balance of light and color and choose the appropriate devices for the style of the room. Stylish chandeliers can complement the lack of daylight, and diffusing sconces will give a pleasant atmosphere of privacy and comfortable twilight, which is so necessary for a good rest.

Beautiful examples

An excellent example of a modern approach to interior design. Nothing superfluous, but at the same time everything is in its place. Yellow upholstery matches the accent wall, a neutral gray surface balances out the vibrant details, and an imposing chandelier completes the composition.

Country style bedroom option. Classic pieces of furniture and white textiles look very organic against the yellow walls.

A classic with a modern twist, proving that there is never too much yellow. Large brown frames perfectly set off the color of the walls, and the textiles successfully resonate with each other and perfectly complement the decoration of the walls and ceilings.
