Shiny clothes, iridescent with all sorts of colors, will absolutely attract the views of others. Therefore, there is no doubt that the owner of such a dress will always be in the center of everyone's attention.

general description

There are a lot of brilliant types of material, therefore they can be classified into 5 subgroups:

  • glossy type surface comes out due to a special weave of threads;
  • the shine of the fabric can be obtained due to the composition of the raw materials (for example, silk, polyester or nettle);
  • a shimmering effect is obtained due to the interweaving of shiny metallic threads;
  • a special coating gives a bright shine to the fabric: plain or with patterns (the role of the base here is played by polyester);
  • an iridescent effect is created using rhinestones or sequins.

The shiny fabric has its own characteristics. The main advantage of fabrics with a shiny surface is a catchy look. These canvases look really luxurious. Other positive aspects will directly depend on the composition:

  • natural fabrics like silk are distinguished by excellent hygienic qualities, since they will not irritate the skin;
  • woolen models with the inclusion of lurex threads will be able to perfectly retain heat, will keep their shape perfectly, will not stretch out with constant use;
  • jersey with iridescent shine is characterized by increased elasticity, such clothes will fit well on a slender figure;
  • artificial materials have strength characteristics, stretch well, but will not deform, and will be able to retain their original appearance for a long time.

For clothes made of iridescent materials, the main disadvantage is the difficulty with their care, since they require the most careful attitude.... If these are artificial canvases, then they have a rather low ability to absorb moisture.

It is also sometimes very difficult with the help of such fabrics to compose the most harmonious and not vulgar image. You should be distinguished by a special sense of taste and style, so as not to accidentally overdo it with decorations or choose the right companion fabrics. In addition, light shiny things can add extra volume, and it is better for women with a luxurious figure to refuse them.

Views

Silk has a natural beautiful shimmer. However, this is not the only type of raw material from which transfusion fabrics are produced. According to their composition, they are of the following types.

  • Natural (cotton, linen or silk). They are made using a weave: satin or satin.
  • Synthetic (this is polyester, acetate or lavsan). Such fibers shine beautifully, fabrics from them are obtained using any weave.
  • With the inclusion of sparkling threads... The finest metallic threads of lurex are often found in such fabrics.

Satin and satin

The word "atlas" in translation from Arabic will mean "smooth". Such fabric is used to make chic evening dresses and wedding dresses, stylish blouses, beautiful bedding, elegant tablecloths and curtains. The silky satin surface is obtained thanks to the special satin weave of threads. Blended fibers are often used in the fabric structure.

The front surface of the canvas in this case comes out silky, and the wrong side is synthetics or cotton.

Another common weave, satin, can give materials a unique shine. Satin is a beautiful shiny cotton fabric, which is considered one of the most expensive types of modern materials. The strongest and most durable is mako satin. For its production, special types of Egyptian and Indian cotton are used.

Organza and taffeta

Organza products add an oriental touch to any product. This beautifully shimmering fabric with visible sequins is made from polyester. To make the fabric even more iridescent and shine, viscose and natural silk fibers are included in it.

Manufacturers offer several types of similar fabric:

  • reaper - with the effect of "fold" and "hall", maybe with a little dusting;
  • crash - with the effect of "crack on glass".

Another type of organza - shangjan ("Chameleon"): here the surface of the canvas gets the effect of bright overflows and shine only at a special angle.

Taffeta - a subspecies of polyester, created using plain weave threads to give more shine to this fabric. The area of use of taffeta is very wide: luxurious elegant dresses, spectacular shawls and stoles, carnival and gymnastic costumes are sewn from it. Curtains and tablecloths, napkins and decorative elements, pillows are produced from the fabric. And the spectacular upholstery on luxurious chairs and large sofas will not leave anyone in the street completely indifferent.

Sprayed

Smooth canvases are sometimes coated with a special sputtering layer with a metallic effect.... Small particles during the production process must gently settle on the surface of the material. The basis of this fabric will be 100% polyester. There are canvases with a single-color spraying type, you can also find fabrics with unusual patterns or designs. The brightness of the overflow can also differ: very weak, highly saturated, soft.

If you need to seriously diversify the boring interior of your home, you can always turn your attention to coated textiles, because they can be beautifully combined with any kind of modern decor. This cloth will not collect dust. This effect is achieved with the help of special impregnations.

With lurex

Lurex in translation will mean "seduction", "temptation". The fabric is used for the release of elegant lingerie items, shiny stockings and tights, spectacular evening ensembles, stylish skirts and blouses.The material can give any product a special appeal. Lurex is a rather thin thread with a metal effect, obtained from nickel, as well as copper or aluminum foil... You can combine lurex threads with all kinds of fibers: wool, cotton, synthetics, silk. The jersey looks very impressive, which includes a metallized type of thread.

With sequins

Products with shining sequins always look very original, but you should be aware that materials of this kind are very capricious: both during production and when worn.... Cotton fabric is mainly used as a lining, as well as chiffon and synthetic mesh. The lining should be as weightless as possible, so as not to overload the product.

Materials such as plasticlex and metal are used to create sequins. They are attached in different ways: they can be sewn on or glued. Outfits with glued sequins will not be very expensive, but they will require careful attitude to themselves so as not to lose a significant part of the sparkles. When creating expensive clothes, sequins will be attached with a dense thread, which means that such an ornament cannot be lost.

Color palette

Shiny things are a big field for color choices. The most popular combinations are obtained with shades such as black and gray (silver), beige (white). The range of such maximally restrained or neutral tones can simply perfectly echo with iridescent sparkles and catchy rhinestones. Thinking over this kind of variation, you will not risk looking too vulgar.

There are other popular colors as well.

  • Red. It will serve as an excellent basis for creating very extravagant, mostly catchy evening outfits.
  • Yellow (gold), green, orange or coral. Together, these colors will help create a vibrant summer ensemble that can be appropriate in almost any situation.
  • Blue, light blue, purple. These calm tones are great for a variety of occasions and events. The rich indigo color is perfect for a special occasion.

Areas of use

Shiny materials these days have found quite widespread use in the production of clothing, home textiles, all kinds of costumes for concerts and gymnastic performances. Also, iridescent fabrics are used to create:

  • creative toys;
  • different types of linen, tulle and curtains;
  • various popular accessories.

Most often, shiny fabrics are used to create and decorate clothes.

Sparkling sequins on elegant dresses, delicate style of satin skirts, practical taffeta blouses will allow any lady to look luxurious every day.

Dresses made of iridescent fabrics have long ceased to be only evening dresses. If you combine them with classic-style blazers or modest trench coats, then such dresses can be safely used in everyday wear. It is best to choose dresses in silver or pearl color.

The shining type of fabric is also actively used when decorating residential premises. Heavy curtains, luxurious canopies and very light curtains are sewn from them. They are also chosen for upholstery.

Nuances of care

Shining materials, when used, will require the most careful attitude towards themselves. The easiest way will be to care for fabrics that are obtained using a weave such as satin. They can be washed by hand (silk) or in a machine (it depends directly on the composition of the material: it is cotton or synthetic). If there are shining threads in the canvas, it is best to dry-clean such a product. Also, fabrics with catchy dusting, rhinestones or shiny sequins need special cleaning.

Shiny types of fabrics are very versatile, as they are chosen not only for creating unique outfits, but also for producing various textile accessories for home decor.

Shimmering motives will add more charm to any interior, and the correct use of iridescent textures will confirm the presence of aesthetic taste.
